NHL Building Blocks – October 25
Four-game Friday with some great superstars in action. How can we get different and how can we lean into that chalk? Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – October 25
The Goalie: Juuse Saros
Saros has not been his usual self this season (just a 1-4-0 record), but this is a get-right spot for him and he has just about the best matchup on the slate.
The Center: Connor McDavid
McDavid is starting to heat up offensively (he’s up to three goals and five assists through seven games and has points in six straight). Pittsburgh’s defense is bad and they’ll most likely starting their backup tonight.
The Wing: Filip Forsberg
Two goals and four assists through six games (not to mention four and a half shots per contest as well), and the Blackhawks shouldn’t be able to contain his volume.
The Defenseman: Roman Josi
Five assists, 26 shots on goal, and 13 blocks through five games and has almost the best floor of any defenseman (especially when playing 26 and a half minutes a game), and his ceiling against a bad Chicago team is high. Solid play all around.
The Value: Nick Foligno
Three goals and an assist in seven games as Bedard’s linemate (both L1 and PP1), and the Predators are allowing just under four goals per game. Solid value piece and part of a line that may be a nice source of leverage.
The Stack: VGK1 (Eichel-Stone-Barbashev)
This trio has combined for 10 goals and 22 assists through seven games, and the Senators are bottom 10 in shots allowed.
