NHL Building Blocks – October 19
We’ve got a solid nine-game main slate tonight. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – October 19
The Goalie: Jacob Markstrom
Looking good in his first season with the Devils (3-2 with a 2.43 GAA and .918 save percentage) and getting a solid matchup here against the Capitals who are averaging under 27 shots a game and have just 10 goals through their first three contests.
The Center: Connor Bedard
Goal and six assists through five games (also 17 shots) and gets a good matchup against a Sabres team that isn’t scary defensively.
The Wing: Artemi Panarin
Going right back to the Breadman here coming off a hat trick (and tied for the league lead with 11 points). Toronto’s defense isn’t anything special.
The Defenseman: Rasmus Andersson
Two goals and four assists for the surprisingly 4-0-0 Flames; he’s also seeing 23 minutes of ice time in all three situations and has 15 blocks as well.
The Value: Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Continues to be too cheap for his ice time and production, and he’ll be needed in a tough matchup against the Rangers.
The Stack: CHI1 (Bedard-Teravainen-Foligno)
I like the chemistry this line is developing, and they’re producing very well to start the season (seven goals and 10 assists between them through five games). They are home for a Sabres team that has been not that good defensively.
