NHL Building Blocks – April 11
10 games tonight as we approach the weekend, and there are still a few playoff spots up for grabs. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – April 11
The Goalie: Sergei Bobrovsky ($8500 DK / $8600 FD)
Florida is fighting to stay in the top four and grab home-ice advantage in the first round. They should have an easy time of it tonight at home facing the Blue Jackets, and the Panthers’ top-ranked GAA (2.46 per game) should be able to neutralize Columbus’s bottom-five offense. Bob (34-17-4 / 2.43 / .913) has been strong all season and is rounding into playoff form.
The Center: Sidney Crosby ($8500 DK/ $8400 FD)
Five goals and two assists in his last five games and has 40 on the season. Points in eight of his last nine games as the Pens need a win to stay in the hunt.
The Wing: Alex Ovechkin ($7600 DK/ $7900 FD)
30 goals again this season with four coming in the last five games (on 19 shots); dragging his team into the playoffs.
The Defenseman: Noah Dobson ($6300 DK / $7000 FD)
Solid floor; four points, seven shots, and 15 blocks in the last five games. Isles are desperate and he’ll be needed.
The Value: Matthew Knies ($2800 DK / $4400 FD)
Three goals and an assist in L5 and still up on L1 with Matthews; good matchup tonight as well.
The Stack: NYI1 (Horvat-Barzal-Dobson)
The Isles are in a great spot here at home: they’re leading the pack of five teams fighting for the final two playoff spots in the East, and they play the Canadiens who rank in the bottom fourth in both GAA and penalty killing. They have put themselves in this nice position by winning five straight games, and they’ll want to make it six tonight. These three are L1/PP1 together and are decently priced as well.
