NHL Building Blocks – March 5

Nine games tonight with some great matchups.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – March 5
The Goalie:
 Connor Helleybuyck ($8000 DK / $8600 FD)
Will be popular at home tonight against a bad Kraken offense.  Winnipeg has one of the league’s best defenses (second best team GAA at 2.38), and Seattle is on the second half of a back-to-back.  Hellebuyck is in Vezina consideration, and I don’t see that changing tonight.

The Center:  Sidney Crosby ($8000 DK/ $8700 FD)
32 goals on the season and dragging the Penguins toward the playoffs; seven points and 23 SOG in L5.

The Wing:  Jason Robertson ($6500 DK/ $7400 FD)
Four points and 13 SOG in his last five; leads the team in scoring and should have a lot of chances tonight.

The Defenseman:  Roman Josi ($7800 DK / $7700 FD)
61 points in 62 games and has an incredibly good floor/ceiling combo; nine points (four goals) in L5.  Averages three SOG and two blocks per game.

The Value:  Cody Glass ($3600 DK / $3900 FD)
L2/PP2 for the streaking Preds in a good spot; three goals and 12 SOG in L5.

The Stack: DAL1 (Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski-Heiskanen)
Possibly the best matchup on the slate from an offensive standpoint.  Dallas are fifth in the league in goals per game at 3.52 and have five 20-goal scorers (and a 19 and 18 as well).  The Sharks’ defense is just awful, so roster any of this stack (plus Benn and Johnston) comfortably.

The Builder: PIT/NSH ML parlay
