NHL Building Blocks – March 3

Solid slate of four games to wrap up the first weekend of March.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – March 3
The Goalie:
 Filip Gustavsson ($8400 DK / $8400 FD)
Will be the chalk goalie tonight facing the Sharks who are awful and who just played last night.  Minnesota is playing decently (7-4 in their last 11) and are pushing toward a playoff spot, and they’ll need a win tonight against the 31st-ranked San Jose offense.  Gus has not been good as of late, but this is a prime get-right spot for him.

The Center:  Elias Pettersson ($7500 DK/ $8800 FD)
Just got paid and has proven again this season that he’s worth it (on pace for another 100-point season.  Ducks won’t be able to stop him tonight.

The Wing:  Kirill Kaprizov ($8700 DK/ $9100 FD)
Three goals and three assists to go along with 20 shots on goal in his past five games and is on pace for over 90 points again.

The Defenseman:  Brock Faber ($5000 DK / $5900 FD)
Averaging over 25 minutes of ice time in all three situations and has taken over as the Wild’s #1 defenseman.  Price also helps you afford some of the other studs on the slate.

The Value:  Nils Hoglander ($3500 DK / $3800 FD)
Up on L1 with Pettersson; sneakily has 18 goals on the season.

The Stack: MIN1 (Kaprizov-Eriksson Ek-Boldy-Faber)
The Wild get the best matchup on the slate tonight as they face perhaps the league’s worst defense (32nd in GAA at 3.86 and 28th in penalty killing at 74.5%).  The Sharks have also lost five in a row, allowing 25 goals during that streak.  These four have great upside, and they correlate nicely as they are together on L1/PP1.  Mix and match.

The Builder: MIN/VAN ML parlay
