NHL Building Blocks – March 28

NHL Building Blocks – March 28

14 games tonight with almost every team in action.  Should be fun to watch.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – March 28
The Goalie:
 Filip Gustavsson ($8500 DK / $8400 FD)
One of the best matchups on paper, the Wild get the lowly Sharks who average just 2.21 goals per game and who find themselves in the middle of an eight-game losing streak (and 17 of their last 18).  Minnesota sits in 10th and will want to grab this game to try to move up in the standings, and while Gus hasn’t been playing terribly well lately, you can’t argue the matchup.

The Center:  Sebastian Aho ($7400 DK/ $8600 FD)
Four goals and two assists in his last five games and is leading the team in goals (31) and scoring (80 points).  Kills penalties as well, so his floor is solid.

The Wing:  Filip Forsberg ($8300 DK/ $9500 FD)
Incredibly effective right now (six goals and six assists in his last five games; also 23 shots on goal) and has as high an upside as anyone on the slate.  Great spot tonight.

The Defenseman:  Roman Josi ($7900 DK / $8300 FD)
73 points in 72 games; four goals (21 shots) and four assists in L5 and averages over three shots a game.

The Value:  Todd Bertuzzi ($4300 DK / $4800 FD)
Three goals and an assist in his last five games and still skating on L1/PP1.

The Stack:  MIN1 (Kaprizov-Rossi-Zuccarello)
Perhaps the best matchup on paper tonight; the Sharks allow right at four goals per game, the worst mark in the league.  Minnesota is in 10th in the league and needs every win it can get, and tonight would help that mission as they’re just 6-4 in their last 10 games and are right around league average offensively.  Mix and match these four as they are L1/PP1 together.

The Builder:  MIN-CAR ML parlay
