NHL Building Blocks – March 27
Mid-week two-gamer tonight. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – March 27
The Goalie: Ukka-Pekka Luukonen ($8000 DK / $7700 FD)
Should be a solid play tonight; the Senators’ offense is average (14th in goals per game), but their power play is not good, so there’s a path to victory if Buffalo can play disciplined. Luukonen (24-18-3 / 2.48 / .913) has won five of his last seven starts and has taken over as the #1 option in net.
The Center: Tage Thompson ($6500 DK/ $7400 FD)
Three goals (17 SOG) and four assists in L5 and should have some great chances tonight.
The Wing: Nikita Kucherov ($9600 DK/ $10000 FD)
Leads the league in scoring with 123 points; 11 points (two goals and nine assists) in his last five games and is matchup-proof.
The Defenseman: Rasmus Dahlin ($6400 DK / $7300 FD)
One of the most secure floors in the league; averages three shots and two blocks per game.
The Value: Danton Heinen ($3300 DK / $4200 FD)
Three goals and an assist in L5; skating on L1 with Pastrnak.
The Stack: TB1 (Kucherov-Point)
High upside offense, but in a tough matchup with a good defense (Boston is 7th in both GAA and penalty killing). Still, the Bolts, winners of six of their last seven games, score three and a half goals per game and have the league’s best power play (29.0%), so if they can play aggressively, they could come out of this one with a win; Boston is also on the second half of a back-to-back. Mix in Stamkos as a secondary piece.
The Builder: none
