NHL Building Blocks – March 24
We close out the weekend with a solid seven-game slate. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – March 24
The Goalie: Jake Oettinger ($8300 DK / $8400 FD)
Arizona’s offense has been very hit or miss this season, ranking 23rd in the league with a lethargic 2.90 goals per game average, while the Stars, winners of three straight and a point out of the top spot in the West, give up the same per game. Oettinger, while not quite his elite self from seasons past, has won six of his last eight starts and is still more than capable of taking any game he wants, and he should be able to do well tonight.
The Center: Connor McDavid ($9800 DK/ $10100 FD)
Gets a horrific defense and should be able to do whatever he wants; 12 points in his last five games and is third in the league in scoring.
The Wing: Nikita Kucherov ($9600 DK/ $10500 FD)
Played last night and had an assist; still one of the best in the game with a league leading 122 points and 16 points in the last five games.
The Defenseman: Victor Hedman ($6700 DK / $7600 FD)
Always in consideration as one of the highest-upside defensemen in the league; five assists in his last five games and in a great spot.
The Value: Todd Bertuzzi ($4800 DK / $4600 FD)
Three goals and two assists in his last five games and still paired with Matthews on L1/PP1; great game environment tonight.
The Stack: TB1 (Kucherov-Point-Hedman)
Will be popular even on a back-to-back; the Ducks are just not good (they’ve lost eight of their last 10, sit 14th in the West, and allow over three and a half goals per game and have a 73.3% penalty kill, all of which set up a Bolts onslaught). Tampa has won five of its last seven and has a typically elite and high upside offense. Mix in Stamkos as a secondary piece.
The Builder: DAL/TB ML parlay
