NHL Building Blocks – March 19

Giant slate tonight with tons of great teams in favorable matchups.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – March 19
The Goalie:
 Juuse Saros ($8500 DK / $8600 FD)
Should be popular tonight facing the Sharks.  Nashville has won 12 of its last 14 games and wants to keep the momentum going tonight against a bad offense (31st in goals scored and 20th in power play).  Saros has won nine of his last 11 starts, giving up a total of 21 goals during that span.  Roster comfortably.

The Center:  Nathan Mackinnon ($10300 DK/ $10700 FD)
Matchup-proof and is driving toward his first Hart, leading the league in scoring with 116 points; three goals (28 shots) and eight assists in his last five games with at least one point in his last 15.

The Wing:  Filip Forsberg ($8400 DK/ $9100 FD)
Five goals (24 shots) and two assists in his last five games; great volume shooter (averages over four per game) and has 35 goals and 71 points in 68 games this season.

The Defenseman:  Roman Josi ($7900 DK / $8100 FD)
67 points in 68 games and one of the most secure floor/ceiling combos in the league; two goals (19 shots) and four assists in his last five games and averages three shots and two blocks per game.

The Value:  Tyler Bertuzzi ($4600 DK / $4300 FD)
L1/PP1 and still too cheap for upside.

The Stack: NSH1 (Forsberg-O’Reilly-Nyquist-Josi)
Should be in one of the best spots tonight as they and the Sharks are definitely trending in opposite directions.  Nashville is 12-2 in its last 14 while San Jose is 1-13 in that same span.  These four are L1/PP1 together, so mix and match.

The Builder:  EDM/NSH ML parlay
