NHL Building Blocks – March 10
Small, tight slate of three games to wrap up the weekend. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – March 10
The Goalie: Fredrik Andersen ($8200 DK / $8400 FD)
The Hurricanes loaded up for a Cup run and are in a good matchup tonight. Carolina has a very good defense, ranking sixth in GAA and third in penalty kill, and Calgary doesn’t excel in either of those areas (plus they’ve traded some key pieces and are looking ahead to next season). Andersen (5-1-0 / 2.57 / .904) won his first start since coming back from injury, and he looked good doing so, and this is a spot where he can begin to pick up some momentum.
The Center: Sebastian Aho ($7500 DK/ $8400 FD)
Well over a point per game this season and offensive leader of the team; four points and 11 shots in his last five games.
The Wing: Andrei Svechnikov ($6100 DK/ $7900 FD)
Nearly a point per game this season (40 in 42 games), three goals (15 shots) and three assists in his last five and should have a lot of chances.
The Defenseman: Noah Dobson ($7700 DK / $7600 FD)
64 points in 62 games and averages two and a half blocks and shots each per game; four points in last five games.
The Value: Philip Kurashev ($4200 DK / $4600 FD)
Second on the team in scoring; two goals and an assist in L5.
The Stack: NYI PP1 (Barzal-Nelson-Horvat-Dobson)
Winners of five straight, the Isles get a solid matchup on the road against the Ducks. New York is right on the edge of the playoffs and they’ll want to solidify their position, so spots like this they should play harder. Anaheim has had trouble stopping the puck all season, giving up 3.52 goals per game and having a 75.1% penalty kill. Mix and match these four and add in Palmieri as a secondary piece.
The Builder: CAR/CGY ML parlay
