NHL Building Blocks – February 24

Good amount of action today with four early games and eight on the main slate.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – February 24
The Goalie:
 Juuse Saros ($8400 DK / $8300 FD)
Possibly the best spot on paper tonight facing the Sharks who has lost four of their last five and are averaging 2.09 goals per game (second worst in the league) and under 26 shots per game (lowest in the league).  Saros (22-21-2 / 2.97 / .904) has won three of his past five and can steal a game at any time.

The Center:  Nathan Mackinnon ($10300 DK/ $10600 FD)
Second in the league in scoring (93 points in 58 games) and averaging right at five SOG per game; L5 he has two goals, six assists, and FORTY shots on net.

The Wing:  David Pastrnak ($9700 DK/ $9800 FD)
Five points and 24 shots in L5 and is matchup-proof; leads the league in shots with 288 and is fourth in points with 82.

The Defenseman:  Roman Josi ($7000 DK / $8000 FD)
Might have the best floor of any defenseman in the league (52 points in 55 games to go along with 179 shots and 101 blocks); five assists in L5 and should be able to do whatever he wants tonight.

The Value:  Cody Glass ($3300 DK / $3500 FD)
Sits up on PP1 and in the best matchup tonight; three points on 17 SOG in L5.

The Stack: NSH1 (Forsberg-O’Reilly-Nyquist-Josi)
The chalk team on the slate facing the league’s worst team.  Nashville has won three in a row and needs all the momentum they can get as they sit in ninth in the West.  These four are L1/PP1 together; mix and match, and add in Glass as a cheap secondary piece.

The Builder:  NSH/LAK ML parlay
