NHL Building Blocks – January 25

Nine games tonight…  Can the Oilers make it 15 in a row?  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – January 25
The Goalie:
 Stuart Skinner ($8500 DK / $8400 FD)
The chalk goalie as not only are the Oilers on one of the best streaks in recent memory, their opponent is just not good; they average 2.17 goals per game (second worst in the league) and a last-place 12.2% power play, as well as taking the second fewest shots per game in the league.  Skinner has won his past 11 starts and should be comfortably considered in all formats.

The Center:   Leon Draisaitl ($7800 DK/ $9500 FD)
Eight points in his past five games and is on pace for another 100-point season; good power play correlation with the big boys and provides some salary savings (and leverage) off of McDavid.

The Wing:  David Pastrnak ($10000 DK/ $10700 FD)
Can’t not consider him against a team that is abysmal defensively; third in the league in scoring, fourth in goals, and first in shots, and should have all the opportunity in the world tonight, especially if Ottawa’s offense shows up.

The Defenseman:  Roman Josi ($7200 DK / $8100 FD)
Should be active on both sides of the ice against a solid Wild team, and always has one of the best floor/ceiling combos of any defenseman; 31 points, 155 shots, and 83 blocks in 47 games.

The Value:   Colton Sissons ($3600 DK / $4900 FD)
L3, but PP1 against the second-worst penalty kill in the league.  12 goals on the season and an assist in three straight games.  Worth consideration as a one-off.

The Stack:  EDM PP1 (McDavid/Draisaitl/Hyman/Nugent-Hopkins/Bouchard)
14 straight wins…what else can you say?

The Builder:  EDM/TB ML parlay
