Zero to Hero:  Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – December 8

I’m dreaming of a red lamp light just like the ones I used to know…

The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential.  We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll.  (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.)  I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays.  Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.

THE BUILDER – DECEMBER 8
The Player Builder
:  Connor McDavid ($DK / $FD)
Back to performing like the best player on the planet he is; seven-game points streak (four goals and 15 assists) and no reason to think he’ll slow down tonight.

The Stack Builder:  EDM1 (McDavid/Hyman/Nugent-Hopkins)
Expensive and chalky, but both worth it. The Oilers have been on fire offensively recently, winning five straight games and scoring 26 goals in those. That doesn’t bode well for the Wild, who are already not a good defensive team (3.48 goals allowed per game and a league-worst 71.1% penalty kill, which is dangerous considering the Oilers’ deadliness with the man advantage). Mix in Draisaitl and Bouchard for secondary correlation.

The Bet Builder:   EDM/FLA ML (found around +135)
Oilers ML (facing the Wild) can be found around -190.

Panthers ML (facing the Penguins) can be found around -170.
