Zero to Hero: Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – December 5
Dashing down the ice in a two-on-one fast break…skating to and fro, scoring all the way. HA HA HA.
The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential. We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll. (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.) I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays. Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.
Recap from 12/4
Player builder: Sidney Crosby (goal; four shots, one hit, and one blocked shot) ✅
Stack builder: PIT1 (goal and two assists – the team’s only goal) ✅

THE BUILDER – DECEMBER 5
The Player Builder: Brock Boeser ($7300 DK / $7700 FD)
Going with the league leader in goals facing one of the league’s worst defenses…and I’m not sure why he’s so cheap given his upside (especially in this matchup).
The Stack Builder: VAN2 (Miller-Boeser)
Great spot for the Canucks as not only do they have the best offense in the league, the Devils have one of the worst defenses (3.73 goals allowed per game, second-worst, to go along with a 75% penalty kill). Vancouver should be able to attack this defense tonight, and they’ll need to as the Devils also have a good offense. Mix in Pettersson and Hughes for secondary correlation.
The Bet Builder: COL/LAK ML (found around -115)
Avalanche ML (facing the Ducks) can be found around -340.
Kings ML (facing the Blue Jackets) can be found around -225.

Vancouver Canucks left wing Andrei Kuzmenko celebrates with centre Elias Pettersson and right wing Brock Boeser during the first period against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center at San Jose. The Canucks won 10-1 on Nov. 2, 2023.
