Zero to Hero:  Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – December 16

All I want for Christmas is a power play…a power play…yes, a power play.

The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential.  We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll.  (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.)  I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays.  Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.

Recap from 12/15

THE BUILDER – DECEMBER 16
The Player Builder
:  Connor McDavid ($9500 DK / $10200 FD)
Seven goals and 20 assists during his 11-game points streak, and getting a good matchup here tonight.  Not even the most expensive stud center, either.

The Stack Builder: EDM1 (McDavid/Hyman/Nugent-Hopkins)
Lost last game, but had won eight in a row previous and still is one of the hottest teams in the league, and I like going right back to them, especially in this matchup where their opponent has good offensive upside.  Florida hasn’t hit their stride yet, but they have the weapons to go off at any point, and the Oilers’ defense isn’t that spectacular.  Mix in Draisaitl and Bouchard as PP/secondary pieces.

The Bet Builder:  NJ/LAK ML (found around +120)
Devils ML (facing the Blue Jackets) can be found around -225.

Los Angeles ML (facing the Kraken) can be found around -160.
