Zero to Hero: Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – December 11

Zero to Hero:  Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – December 11

Scoring goals….scoring goals…it’s Christmas time at the ice rink…

The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential.  We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll.  (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.)  I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays.  Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.

Recap from 12/10
Player builder:  Roman Josi (two assists; three shots; two blocks) ✅

THE BUILDER – DECEMBER 11
The Player Builder
:  Nathan Mackinnon ($9600 DK / $10400 FD)
Should have ample opportunity tonight against the Flames; five goals and 12 assists during an 11-game points streak and top five in the league in scoring.

The Stack Builder:  TOR PP1 (Matthews/Nylander/Tavares/Marner/Rielly)
Always worth considering a high-upside offense like the Leafs, especially in a spot like this tonight.  Toronto is top 10 in goals per game and power play percentage, and the Isles have the fourth-worst penalty kill in the league.  Pair Matthews with Nylander and pair Tavares with Marner for mini stacks; mix them together with Rielly.

The Bet Builder: DAL/COL ML (found around +115)
Stars ML (facing the Red Wings) can be found around -225.

Avalanche ML (facing the Flames) can be found around -185.

Apr 24, 2023; Tampa, Florida, USA; Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly (44) and center John Tavares (91) defends Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Brandon Hagel (38) during the first period of game four of the first round of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Amalie Arena.
