Boston Celtics @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: 242.5

Vegas Spread: Bos -6.0

We’ll kick this slate off with the Celtics, this will be a huge pace-up spot for them against the fastest team in the league, so Boston is going to look pretty good. Jayson Tatum dropped 53 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season and is a guy who will look elite on a short slate. Jaylen Brown has been volatile this season, but again, the spot looks great and if he goes under-owned we can get some leverage on a ceiling game. Jrue Holiday has seen his production pickup over the last two games with Kristaps Porzingis continued to be out, he still hasn’t been in great form, but he’ll look solid on this slate. Derrick White has been the better producer and has at least 41 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. Lastly, Al Horford will see the minutes’ uptick with Kristaps out and has been in great form, he’ll look like a solid $6k-range guy as well. From the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton comes in as questionable after missing their last game but considering the spread is just six, I would think he’s good to go here. That said, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed as we get closer to lock, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s good to go here. He’s coming off of a massive game last time out against the Heat and gets another tough matchup in this one against a good Celtics defense and a really tough one-on-one matchup with Jrue Holiday. Myles Turner can be volatile but you can beat the Celtics down low a bit more often than in the backcourt. Turer has huge block upside and if he can get his shot to fall, he’s in for a good night. Buddy Hield has cooled off a bit since his 50-burger against Toronto and his minutes are extremely hard to predict… I can’t say I love the price tag on him. Bruce Brown had a big night last time out and is playing consistent minutes. Obi Toppin has been seeing good minutes as well but I would expect his shooting regresses as he’s shot 17-23 over his last two games and 7-12 from three-point range. If he’s active I don’t mind him as a mid-range GPP option. Bennedict Mathurin is in a similar boat as Buddy Hield but you get a much better price tag on him and would be my preferred option. Aaron Nesmith has been solid as well and would see a boost if Toppin were to miss, so keep an eye on that news. Lastly, if Haliburton is forced to miss we can go right back to the well with T.J. McConnell and Andrew Nembhard.

5-star play: Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton

4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Al Horford, Myles Turner, Bennedict Mathurin, Bruce Brown

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, Obi Toppin, Aaron Nesmith, Buddy Hield

New Orleans Pelicans @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 237.5

Vegas Spread: Sac -3.5

Starting with the Pelicans, they should get CJ McCollum back in this one after resting last time out. He saw 38 minutes in his last game, so I wouldn’t be worried about any sort of minutes restriction on him, and is a guy who looks like a solid option in all formats on a short slate. Zion Williamson is averaging 42 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Kings this season, he’s been volatile this season but still a guy I like here. Brandon Ingram has been fine but nothing to write home about as of late, he sees a usage hit as well with CJ back in there. I do think Jonas Valanciunas is interesting here, he’s an elite per-minute producer and has at least 30 minutes in four straight games. Herbert Jones will play big minutes but isn’t a great per-minute guy, that said, he has at least 31 DraftKings points in back-to-back games. Trey Murphy made his season debut last time out and looked good in 22 minutes. I would expect that to be his minutes’ floor here and is a guy that makes sense as a mid-range option. From the Kings, Domantas Sabonis bounced back nicely last time out but has somewhat struggled in this matchup this season. That said, the price tag is nice and will make sense as a top option on the slate. De’Aaron Fox is on some kind of heater with at least 52 DraftKings points in four straight games and this Pelicans team has struggled with opposing guards. Keegan Murray returned last time out but saw just 23 minutes, I would think that’s his minutes floor here, but he’ll be more of a tournament option. Kevin Huerter has been in good form and is a guy who makes sense as a secondary option. Malik Monk will continue to see good minutes off of the bench and makes sense at his price tag as well. Lastly, Harrison Barnes isn’t a sexy option but makes sense as a roster filler.

5-star play: Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, De’Aaron Fox

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Zion Williamson, Herbert Jones, Trey Murphy, Domantas Sabonis, Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk

Deeper Value: Trey Lyles

GPP Sleeper: Trey Murphy, Jordan Hawkins, Dyson Daniels, Harrison Barnes, Keegan Murray
