Zero to Hero:  Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – November 7

Almost a month into the season…so glad hockey is in full swing.

The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential.  We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll.  (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.)  I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays.  Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.

Recap from 11/6

THE BUILDER – NOVEMBER 7
The Player Builder
:  Nikita Kucherov ($8400 DK / $9700 FD)
Kucherov has nine points in his past two games and tied for second in the league in scoring while seeing almost 21 minutes per night.  He is the anchor of the Bolts’ offense and their power play.  They get a Canadiens team that does not scare anyone defensively, and while the Bolts are on a back-to-back, he and the rest of the team should still put up a strong showing tonight.

The Stack Builder:  TB PP1 (Point/Kucherov/Stamkos/Hedman/Paul)
On the second night of a back-to-back after scoring six goals, but I still like their matchup tonight.  The Canadiens give up the fourth most shots in the league at just over 35 and have allowed 48 power plays in 11 games, and the Bolts are scoring just under four per game.  Canadiens only kill penalties at a 75% rate and Tampa converts right at 33.3%.  Good spot for some more action tonight.

The Bet Builder:  CAR/PHI ML parlay (can be found around +115)
The Hurricanes are playing the Sabres, who have been defensively inconsistent and have had shaky goaltending.  Carolina is a volume shooting team and will be looking to attack tonight.  This line can be found around -215.

The Flyers are playing the Sharks.  Enough said.  This line can be found around -210.
