Zero to Hero:  Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – November 4

November!  Turkey…then Christmas…then…let’s not get ahead of ourselves.  Such a fun start to the season!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential.  We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll.  (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.)  I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays.  Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.

THE BUILDER – NOVEMBER 4
The Player Builder
:   Sidney Crosby ($8000 DK / $8300 FD)
Sid the Kid is doing his normal thing…he’s got five goals and five assists in nine games and is shooting over four times per contest.  He’s also got two of the Penguins’ four power play goals, and he should be in a position to increase that tonight against the Sharks’ defense.  Great price here tonight on both sites, but especially on FanDuel.

The Stack Builder:
The Penguins’ offense is still a high-volume one, shooting just under 36 times a game, the most in the league, and that bodes well toward beating a team that allows four power plays per game and kills just 69.2% of them.  The Sharks as a whole are also allowing 37 shots per game, so the volume here is just another reason to play this line.  The flip side is that the Pens’ power play has been anemic (14.8%), but this line does have all four of their power play tallies..  Still, they are in a good position tonight as they are playing the league’s worst team by far.

The Bet Builder:  PIT/TOR ML parlay
The Penguins face the Sharks tonight who are undoubtedly the worst team in the league.  This line can be found around -245.

The Leafs play host to the Sabres who are on their third game in four nights.  This line can be found around -215.
