Defenses to Stream – Week 11 Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 40-percent of leagues (prior to waivers).

Commanders D/ST vs New York Giants

Available in 86% of Sleeper Leagues

This is an elite match up for the Commanders defense because the Giants have allowed a league-most 54 sacks and have turned the ball over 13 times. Additionally, over the last three weeks the Giants have allowed 11.7-FPPG to opposing D/ST’s and that is 27th best in the NFL. The Commanders scored nine fantasy points the last time their D/ST faced off with the Giants in Week 7. In terms of streaming defenses, the Commanders are arguably the top play of Week 11.

Dolphins D/ST vs Las Vegas Raiders

Available in 65% of Sleeper Leagues

Examining trends for the Raiders against opposing D/ST’s, they have only played well against bad teams: DEN, NE and NYG. Removing those game from their schedule, they have allowed 11.5-FPPG to opposing D/ST’s and that would qualify as the second worst in the NFL. The Raiders also come into this contest tied for the second most turnovers in the league with 18, and they are allowing 2.5 sacks per game as well.

Lastly, the Raiders’ rookie quarterback, Aidan O’Connell, has started the last two games and those contests were against the Giants and Jets. Both of those opponents require little scoring to be victorious, thus allowing O’Connell to be a “game manager” quarterback. That type of passiveness will get you blown out against the Dolphins, which means O’Connell will be dropping back to pass quite a bit. The -12 spread favoring Miami also echoes that narrative.

Rookie quarterbacks on the road are always tough to trust. O’Connell could fall apart in this spot. Also worth noting, the Dolphins D/ST will carry value in Week 12 when they face the New York Jets.

Lions D/ST vs Chicago Bears

Available in 80% of Sleeper Leagues

The Bears have been the fourth worst team against opposing defenses in 2023, allowing 10.7-FPPG to the position. Their recent trends paint the same picture as well, in the last three games they have allowed 9.7-FPPG to opposing D/ST’s which is the eighth worst in the NFL during that time. This likely stems from the Bears being the second most turnover-prone team, while also allowing the sixth most sacks. Even if Justin Fields returns to play against the Lions, Detroit should take care of business in this spot. You can even keep the Lions for their Week 12 contest against the Packers.
