Holy smokes everybody it is time for NHL to start back up. If you didn’t already know, the DFS Army is changing the fantasy preparation game in a big way this year. Here at the Army we have a plethora of new/returning coaches, a more effective version of our cheat sheets, and our IT experts have tweaked our domination station to be even more accurate and user friendly. Come gain access to our discord, communicate with the top coaches in the game, and make fun of me whenever you want! Now, onto the slate!
Slate Overview: Big slate today, so I will keep the it short. There will be no chalk with 24 teams playing, so therefore we are chasing raw upside in tournaments. Identify spots, make decisions, and attack those decisions with hard stacks. Don’t get cute, just go for it.
Correlated Snipe #1 Auston Matthews – Mitch Marner
If you want the Leafs but want to spend a little less, the Nylander/Tavares stack is also viable. In either stack Klingberg is also usable since he is on the top powerplay unit. I like the Leafs to handle their business on the road in Florida. It is a nice get away trip after being terrible at home against the Blackhawks. The Leafs have to be pissed and out for blood, much like how Edmonton was when they killed Nashville on the road. Only difference is that the Panthers are worse both in net, but also on defense. The Leafs have a great matchup and are in a get right spot. I will take that at lower ownership than I can normally get them do to the size of the slate tonight. Get that ceiling ready and make sure to put your 401k on the Leafs to get the job done

Correlated Snipe #2 – Nathan Mackinnon – Mikko Rantanen
The Avalanche look flawless this year with Nichushkin back and Makar healthy. Mackinnon is primed and ready to explode, and a home game against the crappy Chicago defense is a great spot to be in. I also love attacking those bad Blackhawk goaltenders as well. With Edmonton, Toronto, Tampa, and David Pastrnak on this slate, this stack may go overlooked. Also, I don’t think Chicago is for real this year at all, even after their quick start. I am not going to overthink it with a literally limitless ceiling from this stack. I mean Mackinnon had 14 shots on goal the other night. Very great team vs a very not great team, do the thing.
Grinder #1 – Leo Carlsson – Stone min, rookie debut.
Grinder #2 – Matthew Poitras – promoted to PP2 and L2 with Brad Marchand. Upside here vs the Sharks.
Grinder #3 – Oliver Ekman-Larsson – He is taking advantage of his opportunity with Ekblad and Montour out. Cheap PP1 option, and the Leafs have been bad defensively.
Bankroll Grinder – Leafs ML, Bruins and Avalanche both -1.5, 3 leg parlay at +465
