NHL 2023 10/17/23 Snipes and Grinders!

Holy smokes everybody it is time for NHL to start back up. If you didn’t already know, the DFS Army is changing the fantasy preparation game in a big way this year. Here at the Army we have a plethora of new/returning coaches, a more effective version of our cheat sheets, and our IT experts have tweaked our domination station to be even more accurate and user friendly. Come gain access to our discord, communicate with the top coaches in the game, and make fun of me whenever you want! Now, onto the slate!

Slate Overview: Big slate tonight with 8 games and this one is fairly standard. The Oilers and Avalanche will always be popular stacks with the superstar firepower up front. One stack I am on that some may not be is Minnesota who are up against Montreal. I have a suspicion that this will be Kirill Kaprizov’s coming out party for the 2023-2024 season. Winnipeg vs LA also intrigues me a bit as well. I think Ilya Sorokin is the cash game goalie of the slate who is up against the Coyotes on the 2nd night of a back to back. My favorite GPP goalie would be Jake Oettinger who should get peppered by Vegas. I chase the 35 save bonus in tournaments.
Correlated Snipe #1 – Filip Forsberg – Ryan O’Reilly
Nashville gets Edmonton at home, and Edmonton has shown an ability to give up goals. The Oilers should be desperate, and I do like their stacks a bit, but the reverse intrigues me a bunch. Filip Forsberg is one of the best goal scorers in the league, and Ryan O’Reilly seems to have found chemistry with him quickly this year. Nashville is a great home rink, and I can see Nashville forcing the Oilers into making mistakes. The Predators have a good goalie, a solid defense, and enough scoring to be annoying. The perfect situation to annoy the Oilers. I am predicting 2 goals from Forsberg here.

Correlated Snipe #2 – Sebastian Aho – Michael Bunting – Seth Jarvis
Carolina is out west to start the year, and there are some bad teams. out there. The Sharks flat out stink. These Carolina top liners also correlate on the top powerplay unit. I love guys that correlate everywhere, and the matchup is perfect for them. This is pretty good chalk, let’s not overcomplicate things. Also, Carolina has big expectations this year, and they are probably determined to right the ship sooner rather than later. A statement game is incoming
Grinder #1 – Ryan McDonaugh – Going to be super active (like always) against Edmonton. Good floor guy with blocks and shots on goal.
Grinder #2 – Kaiden Guhle – Another cheap defenseman. This young man is all over the place, live his floor.
Bankroll Grinder – NYI/ARI under 6, Colorado and Carolina moneylines; a 3 legger for +344
