Geek's Core Picks and Value Stacks | NFL DFS Insider Plays | Week 5 Fantasy Football

In this Week 5 NFL DFS analysis, we’re focusing on a pivotal concept: Geek’s “Core Four.” These four core picks represent Ffootballgeek’s absolute favorite plays across all game formats on the main slate, regardless of price or projected roster percentages. Anticipate these selections to play a central role in his cash lineup and serve as a cornerstone of his GPP core strategies (although they may not all align within a single GPP lineup).

For site-specific plays, showdown captains, and more, let’s chat in the DFS Army Discord. Jump in his room, #Geeks-Channel, with your DFS questions weekly. Let’s stack some cash this week!

East Rutherford, NJ Ñ October 1, 2023 Ñ Drue Tranquill of the Chiefs misses Breece Hall of the Jets as he runs the ball in the second half. The New York Jets host the Kansas City Chiefs at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on October 1, 2023.

Geek’s Core Picks – Week 5

Breece Hall ($5400 DK) – Coach is saying that Hall is no longer on a snap count. It makes so much sense for the Jets to lean heavy on the run in this matchup. The salary is so low compared to his upside. I’m using him in all formats this week.

David Montgomery ($6600) – Panthers have been allowing 35 yards per game above average to opposing RBs to start the season. Monty got 32 carries and 2 targets last week. His passing game role is minimal but his goalline role is elite.

D’Andre Swift ($6000) – Swift got his snapshare up to 64% last week and handled over 75% of the RB opportunities. I’m expecting more of the same here facing a middle of the road Rams defense in a high total game. There should be plenty of scoring opportunities

Wan’Dale Robinson ($3000) – Robinson led the team in targets last week. I believe he is the best WR on the Giants right now. He’s priced at stone min on DK. I would expect 5+ targets this week which should be more than enough to smash value.

Geek’s Value Stacks –  Week 5

Joshua Dobbs/James Conner/Michael Wilson/Zach Ertz – All listed on my cheatsheets, and all in a fine spot for fair prices this week. Ertz is grabbing an elite 25% target share currently, Wilson’s role is increasing by the week, Conner is the red zone/goal line back without question, and Dobbs isn’t afraid to pull the ball down and take off with his legs.  With a lot of obvious stud QBs this week, Dobbs can underscore the Mahomes and Hurts types by 10-12 points and still offer you the salary to keep pace with any nuts combo.

Wan’Dale Robinson/Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle – If you are taking the core play of Wan’Dale Robinson, you have some salary leftover.  If you are taking a QB like Dobbs, you have some salary left over.  That only means you can pay up for a Tyreek Hill in a possibly unstoppable matchup.  Jaylen Waddle might be someone Tua will look to get going after a slower start to the season, so pick your poison.  But, make no mistake….a secondary stack appears quite often in the winning GPP lineups.  And a little ping-pong action between the Giants and Dolphins might be just what the salary doctor ordered.

DFS Winning Strategy

These selections encapsulate Ffootballgeek’s utmost favorites across all game formats on the main slate, defying price constraints and projected roster percentages. These pivotal core picks are poised to shine in cash lineups and serve as the bedrock of GPP core strategies, albeit not always converging in a single GPP lineup.
