Quarterbacks to Stream – Week 2 NFL Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the quarterbacks to stream this week. The quarterbacks to stream on this list are normally available in 40-percent of leagues.

Anthony Richardson (IND) @ Houston Texans

Available in 25% of ESPN Leagues

Jared Goff (DET) vs Seattle Seahawks

Available in 51% of ESPN Leagues

14 fantasy points was all Goff could muster up in his road contest against Kansas City. While Goff can be bad on the road, his at home match-up against Seattle makes him a streaming candidate for the second consecutive week.

In 2022 Goff averaged a QB10 finish while playing at Ford Field. The Lions saw an average of 34.6 team pass plays per game and were seventh highest in pace of play in 2022. The former first-round pick also had the seventh-best yards per attempt at 7.6 yards.

Seattle isn’t the best match-up for Goff. They held Stafford in-check from a fantasy perspective in Week 1 and were 15th-best against fantasy quarterbacks in 2022. But this game is at home for the Lions where they are favored by -5.5. The game total for this is also a healthy 47 points.

Startup Goff for Week 2 since he is at home, favored, and because this game projects to keep the scoreboard busy.

Brock Purdy (SF) @ Los Angeles Rams

Available in 75% of ESPN Leagues

Purdy continues to get it done from all aspects as a starter. In weeks 13 – 18 of last season he finished as QB9. That trend continued in 2023 against a gritty Steeler defense where Purdy was the QB10. What can you say – the dude is loaded with weapons all around.

The Niners enter Week 2 as 8-point favorites against their division rival. It also features a 44 Over-Under which could be much worse compared to other games around the league.

The Rams are no slouch at defending the quarterback position in fantasy. Last season they limited opposing quarterbacks to 14.2 FPPG which was 10th best in 2022. Just last week on the road they held Geno Smith (SEA) to 9.1 fantasy points. Despite this, Purdy can do enough for your squad in Week 2.

While the match-up is not ideal, the game projection and talent surrounding Purdy is worth the risk. At this point Purdy should be rostered in SFLX and two-QB leagues. Single-QB leagues may find it worth stashing Purdy, but he is a solid streaming option for Week 2.

Jordan Love (GB) @ Atlanta Falcons

Available in 84% of ESPN Leagues

Week 1 for Jordan Love was everything you could ask for as a fantasy manager. He finished the game with 245 passing yards, 12 yards rushing, three touchdowns and no interceptions. That stat line was good for QB3 on the week. But will this continue against a tougher Atlanta Falcons defense?

The Packers travel to Atlanta as -1.5 favorites, featuring an uninspiring game projection of 40.5 points. Looking back to 2022, the Falcons allowed an average of 16.9 FPPG to opposing quarterbacks. That was 12th-highest in the NFL at that time.

While this game is not the favorite within this article, Love could continue to produce at a sustainable level for fantasy managers. He is athletic enough to get it done with his legs but we have yet to see it at a high-rate. Chicago did not push him to run much in Week 1, perhaps this Atlanta defense can force Love to utilize his legs a bit more.

Lastly, Green Bay still has play makers on their team. Aaron Jones and Christian Watson (if healthy) are to name a few. Both can take any pass to the house which would benefit Love.

Sleepers:

Derek Carr (NO) @ Carolina Panthers
