Hello! And welcome to my weekly installment of NFL’s best plays. We had a very solid week 1, and now we moved onto week 2! Thank you for reading this article, which is focused on FanDuel. We will be diving into the best plays from the DFS Army’s NFL Optimizer, aka The Domination Station. I’m Steve, better known as mutt_18 on Twitter (X). Don’t forget to follow me for real-time updates and insights, and keep an eye out for my comprehensive DFS content throughout the NFL season, I do MLB and NBA content as well, exclusively here at DFS Army.
Let’s get to it!

Bills receiver Stefon Diggs catches a pass during practice.
NFL Quarterbacks:
Lamar Jackson ($7,600 @ Cincinnati Bengals)
Lamar comes in as one of my top point-per-dollar quarterback options on the week against the Bengals who are coming off a crushing defeat at the hands of the Browns. Lamar himself struggled against that Texans defense but if Deshaun Watson can get to this Bengals defense so can he. The rushing upside is where I think he’ll shine as Watson broke a few runs last week that really hurt them in key situations. Now the Ravens have lost J.K. Dobbins for the year I think they keep the ball in Lamar’s hands a bit more especially near the goal line. It looks like he’ll also have his favorite target back and we just saw a glimpse of how explosive this offense can be in week 1. Lamar also took a huge salary hit here as I don’t remember the last time he was under 8K.
Geno Smith ($7,000 @ Detroit Lions)
Geno looked horrible in the 2nd half of that game, where they essentially abandoned the running game and he was under pressure all day long. Now he gets a Detroit Lions team in the dome in Detroit. All of his receivers are healthy and I think they bounce back here as there is a history of shootouts when the Lions play at home and they’re also due for a bit of a let down game after that big win against the Chiefs to open the season. People will be down on Smith and the Seahawks big time which is a prime leverage spot here especially at this price of only 7K.
Trevor Lawrence ($7,800 vs. Kansas City Chiefs)
Lawrence looked very good in his first game with his new weapon in Calvin Ridley, and now faces a Chiefs team reeling off a loss to the Lions to open the season. The Lions secondary looked pretty susceptible to underneath routes which plays into Christian Kirk’s favor a bit here, and as long as the Jags don’t have a case of the drops like Kadarious Toney and Skyy Moore did in week 1 they should be able to shred this Chiefs secondary. I think T-Law is going to have a massive season this year and I’m banking on a shootout in this game as I think this will be the last time we see him under 8K for the rest of this season.

Running Backs:
Dameon Pierce ($6,000 vs. Indianapolis Colts)
Even with all the mishaps, the Colts allowed the Jags RBs to put up a combined 26.6 fantasy points in week 1, and it could’ve been worse as that play where Tank Bigsby fumbled should have been blown dead. Now you get Dameon Pierce who got the majority of the carries in what should be a very tight and low scoring game and I think he finds paydirt at least once in this game as the Texans passing attack was very ineffective and it’ll take Stroud a few more weeks to settle in. You’re not gonna find a back with a higher workload at a lower price and I love him here at this price on FanDuel at only 6K.
James Connor ($6,400 vs. New York Giants)
Connor is going to be in for a full workload once again in this game, and he also caught all 5 of his targets so there is passing game upside as well. The Giants run defense just got absolutely obliterated by the Cowboys on Monday night allowing 102 yards and 2 TD’s. Connor is gonna see the majority of the carries and all of the redzone touches as well, especially where his QB still admits he is still learning guys names on offense. Look for Connor to touch the ball another 20+ times here and he is definitely too cheap here.
Rachaad White ($6,200 vs. Chicago Bears)
The Bears just got absolutely torched by Aaron Jones and the Packers running game. White has a similar skillset here and he’s gonna see the bulk of the work as well. Baker Mayfield won’t know all of the other teams defensive signals moving forward so I expect him to struggle a bit in this game but the Bucs will feed White early and often. The Bears are set up to be one of the worst teams in the NFL against the run against with the departure of Roquan Smith to the Ravens and I think teams will harp on this early in the season, look for White to bounce back after a mediocre performance against the Vikings last week.
Wide Receivers:
Stefon Diggs ($8,000 vs. Las Vegas Raiders)
Diggs comes into this game after having a very good game against Sauce Gardner and this game has a perfect game script for this to be a shootout as well as I don’t see the Bills turning the ball over 4 times again in this one. The Raiders just got torched by Courtland Sutton as their secondary is very week here and if Maxx Crosby can be neutralized Allen will have all day to throw. Diggs at 8K here is a criminal price on FanDuel and he’ll likely be core for me on this slate as we move forward.
Tyler Lockett ($6,500 at Detroit Lions)
This whole Seahawks passing game did not look good in week 1, as the Rams were able to get a ton of pressure on Geno Smith, I don’t think the Lions will be able to do the same and look for Lockett to break out here in week 2. This game sets up for a shootout as the dome always plays into the favor of the offense. Lockett is a top bounce back target for me here as I love pairing him, DK or JSN with Geno here for a decently cheap stack.
Mike Williams ($6,700 at Tennessee Titans)
Williams saw a late surge last game, after he missed almost two quarters with an injury but finished with 3 catches for 45 yards. I expect him to bounce back in this one as the Titans will be susceptible to the over the top throws where he is a matchup nightmare. It also looks like Ekeler will miss this game and they’ll be relying on Josh Kelley to go up against probably the best run defense in the league as the Titans are going to be a top 3 team if not the best team in the league against the run as they completely shut down the Saints running game in week 1. At this price he has multi-touchdown upside and I can see like a 6-125 and a TD type of game at under 7K.
Tutu Atwell ($5,500 vs. San Francisco 49ers)
Everyone and their mother will flock to Nacua after last week, but we know that, and the 49ers know that as I expect them to double team him here which should leave opportunities for Atwell and Jefferson. Jefferson looked horrible last week but Atwell saw 8 targets, catching 6 of them for 116 yards and he’s gonna come in at a fraction of the ownership of Nacua. He’s one of my top value WRs this week.

Tight Ends:
Travis Kelce ($8,000 @ Jacksonville Jaguars)
Kelce is looking like he’ll be a full go here in week 2 and the Chiefs will need him desperately as we all saw what their receiving corps looked like without him in week 1. He’s a sure target for Mahomes, especially in the red zone and I expect him to be targeted 12+ times here as there’s no way Mahomes has faith in anyone else on that offense right now.
Luke Musgrave ($5,000 at Atlanta Falcons)
The Falcons just got absolutely shredded by Hayden Hurts, and now they get a true matchup nightmare in Luke Musgrave here in week 2. It looks like the Packers may be without Watson again and Doubs is still a bit banged up along with Jones and his hamstring now. I expect Musgrave to be a bigger part of this offense as he caught 3 of his 4 targets for 50 yards last week and he’s a great red zone threat as well.
Chig Okonkwo ($4,700 vs. Los Angeles Chargers)
Okonkwo wasn’t involved at all week 1 and look for that to change especially if D-Hop misses this game. He’s an elite red zone target for an offense that will need to pass a ton in this game just to keep up and he’s dirt cheap here on FanDuel.
Defense/Special Teams:
Houston Texans $3,400 – This is my favorite value defense on the week, as they were able to contain Lamar and that Baltimore attack so I know they can contain Richardson here and a much worse offense. Great value play for defense this week as Demeco Ryans has this defense playing inspired.
Dallas Cowboys $4,500 – The Cowboys defense just absolutely destroyed Daniel Jones and the Giants last week as he had 0 time to get the ball out and now they get to face the Jets who now have Zack Wilson at QB…..yikes.
New York Giants $4,400 – Giants are facing a Cardinals team that has a QB who doesn’t even know the guys on his team’s names yet, they did a solid job against Dak last week and if they could’ve gotten some offense going I can see this being a low scoring game and them getting some turnovers.
