In this Week 3 NFL DFS analysis, we’re focusing on a pivotal concept: Geek’s “Core Four.” These four core picks represent Ffootballgeek’s absolute favorite plays across all game formats on the main slate, regardless of price or projected roster percentages. Anticipate these selections to play a central role in his cash lineup and serve as a cornerstone of his GPP core strategies (although they may not all align within a single GPP lineup).

Geek’s Core Picks – Week 3
Tony Pollard ($8000 DK) – Pollard is a stud. 25 carries, 8 targets last week. He is a safe pay up option. Don’t overthink it.
Mike Williams ($6000 DK) – 13 targets for Williams last week. As long as Ekeler remains out I’m expecting elevated passing volume from the Chargers offense.
Honorable Mentions – Week 3
We don’t do “black and white rules” in DFS. We like 3-4 core plays, but not every week gives us exactly four. This is where a lot of DFS players get into trouble. They force themselves to find four because they read somewhere that a “core 4” is what others do. Stop that! Each week is it’s own puzzle. We pride ourselves at DFS Army in teaching people when to zig and zag…when to buck the trend. If you’ve seen our Wall of Champions, it’s kind of why we win.
But, here are a few that I do really like….I just can’t quite call them a “core” play:
Justin Herbert ($7500 DK) – This is the game of the week. Herbert isn’t even projecting to be all that highly owned. With Ekeler out again it becomes more likely the TD’s come off throws from Herbert. Mike Williams is one of my favorite plays on this slate and pairing him up with Herbert works nicely. Allen is in play as well.
Bijan Robinson ($7800) – Averaging 22.3 DK PPG over the first two weeks. He is losing some touches to Allgier but still seeing enough to smash. 11 targets and 10 receptions over the first two games as well.
Bills DST ($2900) – Bills D way too cheap considering they are going up against Sam Howell.

Geek’s Value Stacks – Week 3
Justin Herbert/Keenan Allen/Mike Williams – Herbert is an honorable mention, Williams is a core play, and Allen grabbed 4.5 stars of confidence from my cheatsheet this week. That makes for a pretty sexy stack in an under the radar scenario. If everyone focuses on the Minnesota game, this could be the stack that wins your tournament for you.
Tony Pollard/Dallas D – With Pollard making my core, the positive correlation with a running back’s defense is real. Secondary stacks are what win your gpps in 2023. Finding a main stack, and slotting this guy in 2nd is a pretty sharp move. The Dallas D is a monster right now, but at $4400 it’s cost prohibitive. However, it focuses on a likely scenario where Pollard is doing the work in a comfortably led game while the defense is just getting after a bad offense ripe for turnovers and sacks. At $4400, the defense side of this little stack is projected at only 3% ownership. When everyone gets scared…..GET GREEDY!

These selections encapsulate Ffootballgeek’s utmost favorites across all game formats on the main slate, defying price constraints and projected roster percentages. These pivotal core picks are poised to shine in cash lineups and serve as the bedrock of GPP core strategies, albeit not always converging in a single GPP lineup.
