Defenses to Stream – Week 4 NFL Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 40-percent of leagues (prior to waivers).

Chiefs D/ST @ New York Jets

Available in 39% of Sleeper Leagues

This article mentioned Kansas City as one of the top plays in Week 3 and once again the Chiefs look like a top defense to stream in Week 4. They match up against the New York Jets who (somehow) continue to roll out quarterback Zach Wilson (NYJ).

Through three weeks the Chiefs are averaging 9.3-FPPG. They have achieved this average on the back of eight total sacks, three total fumble recoveries and one interception in 2023. This all blends well against an opponent who is allowing 9.7-FPPG to opposing D/STs.

The Jets surrender 3 sacks per game and 1.66 giveaways per game. New York has only scored 14 points per game, which is the lowest in the NFL. Between the bad quarterback play, the sacks allowed, and giveaways, the Chiefs should be a great start in Week 4.

Steelers D/ST @ Houston Texans

Available in 43% of Sleeper Leagues

The Steelers face a potentially improved Texans team in Week 4, but that shouldn’t shy away fantasy managers looking to stream the Steelers.

In each of the Steelers’ first three games they have logged at least three sacks in each contes, which has allowed them to be the NFL leader in sacks with 13. Additionally, the Steelers have secured eight takeaways which is second-best in the NFL.

The Texans are allowing 5.4-FPPG to opposing D/STs, which was skewed after the victory against Jacksonville in Week 3. In Week 1 and 2, Houston allowed 11 and nine-fantasy points. Houston also has allowed 11 sacks on the season which is eighth-most. Surprisingly there have only been two giveaways by this Houston offense; the combination of pressure and a rookie quarterback under center could ignite a few takeaways for the Steelers.

Bengals D/ST @ Tennessee Titans

Available in 90% of Sleeper Leagues

The Bengals finally showed life on offense during Monday Night Football, while the Titans continue to flounder offensively. This sets up a great streaming opportunity for the Bengals D/ST.

Prior to Week 3 the Bengals’ defense had not stuffed the box score with sacks and takeaways, only three sacks and two takeaways total. The Cincy defense really shined against the Rams on Monday, and they finished with six sacks and two takeaways for 11 fantasy points on the night.

The Titans are one of the league’s worst teams at allowing sacks (13), the second most in the NFL. They generally play a clean game on offense and that has limited their turnover-count to one per contest, or three total on the season. They also average a putrid 15 offensive points which is close to being the worst in the NFL.

The combination of sacks allowed, and an anemic Titan offense, positions the Bengals to shine for managers in Week 4.
