Yahoo NFL DFS Cash Game Players for the 4 Game Main Slate

In general, when there are fewer games on a slate, cashing in double ups and head to heads will be more difficult than usual as more of the field is concentrated on a smaller pool of players. With that in mind, I would play less cash than usual on a small slate and play more tournaments.

With that said, let’s focus our Cash Game Player Pool with some high floor plays in plus matchups and sprinkle in some great fantasy points per dollar plays on this smaller slate.

Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes $39

Highest game total on the slate, the Chiefs have the highest team total at 30 points, and both of these secondaries have been suspect at times so I can definitely see this one going back and forth. Mahomes was the number one Fantasy QB this season, so it goes without saying that his floor is as safe as they come. He’s the best play on the entire slate and playable in all formats.

Josh Allen $36

Buffalo and Cincinatti is the other game on the slate with shootout potential and Allen’s 24.38 projection is only a fraction of a point behind Mahomes’ this week. I like Allen in Cash and will have plenty of exposure to him and this game in all formats.

Running Backs

Christian Mccaffrey $37

Mccaffrey has the top projection on the slate despite a tougher matchup and now is in a bit of a timeshare with Mitchell as he got only 37% of the carries last week compared to 58% that he gets without Mitchell in the lineup. He’s still the top play on the slate but there is merit to fading him in GPP’s.

Saquon Barkley $33

Barkley generally doesn’t do well when the Giants are losing – as they’re projected to do this weekend – so there is a path here to him failing in a negative game script. However, there aren’t many viable Running Backs on this slate and Barkley is one of the League’s best and looked explosive last week. I prefer CMC in Cash but do think Barkley is viable as well at $4 less if you need the salary savings.

Travis Etienne $23

We must start at least two running backs and in cash games I want volume. Etienne is one of just a few RBs on this small slate that regularly gets 15-20 touches and even in a completely negative game script last week – where the Jags climbed back from the dead – Etienne was never phased out.

Jerick Mckinnon $20

Mckinnon is one of the top Fantasy Points per Dollar plays this week via the Domination Station in this matchup where the Chiefs have the highest team total on the slate. If you just look at Mckinnon as a Wide Receiver that they play in a Running Back role, we can look past his very limited rushing attempts. Over the last month of the season, he averaged 6.5 target and 1.5 touchdowns per game. Watching Chiefs game, it’s easy to see they scheme him open a lot and often in the redzone.

DFS Winning Strategy

Wide Receivers

Ja’Marr Chase $34

Chase is essentially a lock for 10+ targets per game and he’s an elite talent in a game environment where Cincinatti will need to air it out to win. He’s definitely making my cash game lineup and is playable in all formats.

Stefon Diggs $32

Diggs’ receiving prop for this game is actually about 10 yards higher than Ja’Marr’s via The Sharp App, and I love them both in this matchup as well; they’re playable in all formats.

AJ Brown $28

AJ Brown is significantly cheaper than Chase and Diggs and has a similar floor with the number of targets that he sees – averaging 10 targets per game over his last 6 games. I love both Brown and Smith this week in all formats.

Christian Kirk $24

The only way the Jags keep this close and/or win this game is by matching fire with fire. They’ll need to score to do that and will figure to throw a lot. Kirk’s 23% target share on the season is number one in the Jacksonville offense.

Devonta Smith $24

Don’t tell anybody but over the last half of the season, production wise, Smith is practically the same guy in the Philly Offense and at $4 less than Brown.

Zay Jones $17

I love Zay for many of the same reasons that I love Kirk. His target share on the season is over 20% and he’s cheap in this elite game environment that is top tier on this slate. Every lineup on Yahoo needs 1-2 players priced in the teens and Jay is that guy I’m rolling with this week in Cash and in tournaments.

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce $34

Travis Kelce’s numbers look awesome this week in the Sharp App and that cannot be ignored with the Chiefs boasting a 30-point projected team total. He’s playable in all formats but I love tournament builds around Mahomes/Kelce via paying down at Running Back.

Dallas Goedert $17

The Giants give up 2.09 points above average to the Tight End position which is actually why ‘Desus’ has him listed as the Top Fantasy Points Per Dollar play this week.

Hayden Hurst $11

In cash games, I always look for a good pay down option and Hurst is the cheapest viable punt option on the slate.

Defenses

Philadelphia Eagles $15

There’s a great chance that the Giants have vastly overachieved, and their Cinderella season goes up in flames vs the Elite Eagles. This is my favorite pay up option on this slate.

Cincinatti Bengals $11

The Josh Allen turnovers continue which is exactly how the Miami Dolphins Defense ended up with 18 points last week. Decent chance the Bengals hit value here if that trend continues.

Kansas City Chiefs $10

Lawrence has been real Jekyll and Hyde as was on full display last week when he threw 4 interceptions and then threw 4 touchdowns to come back and win the game.

Yahoo NFL DFS Tournament Plays

If listed in Cash, they’re tournament viable as well. However, in my GPP player pool, I tend to focus on adding lower owned players who have more variance from week to week and/or might not have the best matchup but have the talent to exceed projections by a lot and produce a ceiling outcome needed to take down a GPP.

Jalen Hurts $40

Hurts could easily be the top QB on the slate. Eagles have the 2nd highest team total on the slate and the highest salary might keep ownership down. There are cheap stacking bring back options, so all sorts of stacking options are in play but he’s stackable with Brown, Smith, and Goedert.

Joe Burrow $30

The Bengals are down two offensive linemen and aren’t popping in projections so it’s looking like Burrow is going to come in under owned. I really hope that’s the case as I’ll be looking to get positive leverage by being over the field.

Trevor Lawrence $29

This is the highest game total on the slate and the Jags proved last week – and throughout the season – that they can score a lot if need be.  They’ll need to score a lot to keep pace with Kansas City.

Miles Sanders $24

Sanders Over/Under props look incredible in the Sharp App this week and I’ll be way over the field in tournaments. I love the salary savings that you get going down from CMC/Barkley that allow your lineup to look completely different than what the field will be doing.

Joe Mixon $21

Mixon will win you a GPP or crash your lineup. For that reason, I want some exposure to him on this slate with limited RB options outside of the top 3.

Tony Pollard $18

This is a tougher matchup and Pollard is in a timeshare with Zeke, but he has twelve double digit games this season and the kind of ability to take a screen pass to the house and break a slate. At $18, if he does that, he’s probably going to end up in the Nuts lineup.

Ceedee Lamb $28

Lamb has 30+ point upside and a top 3 WR projection on this slate. I like Lamb in game stacks with or without Prescott.

Deebo Samuel $25

9 targets last week for 133 yards and a Touchdown. With Chase, AJ Brown, and Stefon Diggs on the slate, I expect Deebo to come in at lower ownership and could be a great direct leverage play off of CMC.

Tee Higgins $21

I don’t like the price hike this week as Higgins went from $17 to $21 after doing nothing last week, but I expect Burrow to be low owned and most of the field that stacks Burrow will do it with Chase, so Burrow to Higgins stacks is a great way to get different. Higgins also provides some salary relief as a bring back in Allen/Diggs stacks.

Juju Smith-Schuster $20

Juju will probably get 12 targets or 3 and there’s not much in between. However, we aren’t going to be way over the field on him and he’s a GPP only play in Mahomes + Lawrence stacks so we’re fine with that. Not knowing which Chiefs WR will get the bulk of targets should keep ownership spread out.

Gabe Davis $17

It was this round last year when Gabe Davis went OFF! He saw 10 targets last week and produced for 113 yards and a touchdown. Let’s hope he can keep that momentum going against Cincy. I love him in Allen stacks and as a bring back in Burrow/Chase stacks.

Michael Gallup $16

Gallup is a bit underpriced relative to his role and this game environment is one that won’t be targeted as much as Cin/Buf + Kc/Jac so it’s a play you can use to get different as a small game stack with CMC, Deebo, or in Dak stacks.

Kadarius Toney $14

The Chiefs have been trying to get Toney more involved – even giving him 3 carries for 26 yards and a touchdown in their last game. With Hardman out, I’ll definitely be over the field with Toney at this price.

Dalton Schultz $21

Schultz has averaged over 9 targets per game in his last 3 games and has 4 touchdowns in that span. We need Touchdowns on Yahoo and especially in tournaments! I like him in stacks and as a one off in double tight end builds.

Evan Engram $17

As we’ve already seen this year, Engram has the potential to be the highest scoring player on the entire slate and he’s only $17. I’ll have plenty of exposure to Engram in double tight end builds and in Kc/Jac Stacks.
