It seems the entire sports world was rocked by the Damar Hamlin tragedy on Monday Night Football as the safety collapsed in an assumed cardiac event during the Buffalo Bills NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Superstars like Tom Brady and Drew Brees offered support as did entire teams like the New York Mets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the 24 year old fights for his life in a local hospital.
We’re praying for Damar and his family this morning in Tampa. Moments like this put into perspective what it means to play this game we love. Thankful for our communities in Cincinnati and Buffalo for the overwhelming level of care and support I know they’ll continue to provide.

Damar Hamlin represents every one of us and every teammate we’ve ever had. I’ve never met him, but I know him as a member of our brotherhood. My family and I pray for him and his family as he recovers. God be with him.

Of course, the Bengals and Bills (and many other teams) went prayers up as the game was postponed indefinitely amid rumors the NFL actually wanted to resume play. Players were warming up and coaches were animatedly in talks with referees while everyone scrambled for information and to collect their own thoughts.
While the NFL scrambled, public sentiment became crystal clear…
Sending our thoughts and prayers to Damar🙏

Sometimes, in moments like these, nothing is better than something. However, it’s important to know there is a lot of good shining through what can be a cynical world.
Please pray for our brother.

Perhaps the best thing to watch right now is the GoFundMe account Damar set up with a mere $2500 goal to bring toys to kids. The GFM account is now over 3.9M and counting…
The outpouring of support for Damar Hamlin is definitely inspirational to follow…
Unbelievably sad…. Heart is extremely heavy right now. Prayers for @HamlinIsland his health and the Hamlin Family now. Life is too important. Cherish every moment.
