Yahoo! DFS Cash Game Players for Week 16
Every week in Yahoo DFS we look to target high floor players to hit the cash line in 50/50s, Double ups, and head to heads. Let’s identify the best cash plays as we look to hit the cash line again and find ways to leverage ownership in tournaments like the Yahoo! Baller.

Quarterbacks
Josh Allen $37
Chicago is a bottom 10 team in the league at giving up points to the QB position and Allen is currently third in scoring. I prefer the matchup for Mahomes this week, but Allen remains an every week cash viable QB with his rushing floor and play makers around him.
Patrick Mahomes $37
This game features the highest game total on the slate, the Chiefs have the highest team total, and KC’s Defense has been suspect lately giving up points above average to the QB, RB, WR, and TE position. The result is KC needing to score 25+ points to win and this game should be no different against Seattle. I love this game environment and Mahomes will be my Cash game QB this week on Yahoo where he remains the chalk QB via the Domination Station.
Justin Fields $37
Fields got 2 pass TD’s and another 95 yards rushing on the ground last week against a great Eagles Defense. He now has 7 straight games over 20 points, and I’ll have some exposure to him again this week in tournaments in case he has a ceiling game with his running ability. He can be stacked with one pass catcher (Preferably Kmet), but I also think you don’t force a stack and let the optimizer ride.
Speaking of the Domination Station, Yahoo DFS is now live on the Dom Station at DFS Army. Use the optimizer that DFS Army Subscribers use to win big every week by clicking HERE!

Running Backs
Derrick Henry $39
I gave you Henry as a cash game play against Houston in week 8 and he went off for 35 points via 219 yards and 2 touchdowns. Houston’s rush defense is still horrible – giving up 6.62 points above average to the RB – and with Willis potentially starting, he might even see 30+ carries again. He’s the top Cash play for me this week.
Christian Mccaffrey $35
CMC has averaged 24 touches over the last 3 games and that kind of elite volume is hard to find in today’s NFL. For what it’s worth, the Domination Station has CMC with the number one projection this week (20.72) in front of Henry so he had to make my cash game list despite the fact that there’s not a realistic chance of being able to fit both Henry and CMC into your cash lineup. If you prefer CMC and the $4 savings, he’s a great play. Regardless, you always want some CMC exposure in tournaments in case he has a ceiling game.
Rhiamondre Stevenson $24
We’re going to forget about the bone head play last week because when Stevenson is healthy, he gets about 20 looks a game and is very productive with them as we saw last week when he put up 174 yards and a touchdown. Stevenson comes with a top 5 projection yet again this week and comes without a top 5 price tag. A Christmas Eve Special. If Harris plays, Stevenson would be a cash game fade for me but is still tournament viable.
Alvin Kamara $23
Outside of one ceiling game, Kamara has been very underwhelming this year, but Cleveland is the 3rd worst team in the league against the run – giving up 4.91 points above average – and Kamara is still seeing a lot of volume (he turned 21 carries into over 100 yards last week.) He’s definitely a solid play in this spot in cash games.
Jerick Mckinnon $22
Seattle is allowing 7.15 points above average to the RB position which is bad enough for the worst run Defense in the league and the Chiefs continue to give Mckinnon carries and scheme him open in the passing game. Recency bias might have him over-owned by lock, but we actually prefer that in Cash games as it doesn’t hurt us if he fails in our cash lineup at high ownership; However, it does hurt us if we exclude him from our cash lineup and he goes off. At the price, I will play Mckinnon in cash and probably play Pacheco in tournaments as leverage off of Mckinnon.
D’andre Swift $15
Top Fantasy points per Dollar play this week if you need a cheap option to fit into your lineup. It’s a decent matchup and he got 17 looks last week. Swift hasn’t scored in 3 weeks, so he looks to be due for some positive Touchdown regression.
Wide Receivers
Justin Jefferson $38
The Giants are a middling team against the pass and Jefferson has been on an absolute terror this season, seeing 33% of the targets in the offense and is the number one scoring Wide Receiver in Half-PPR with 277 points. You aren’t playing Henry and Jefferson, so you need to pick who you prefer in Cash.
Amon-Ra St Brown $27
The matchup for Amon-ra is much easier this week going against a Carolina team that gives up 3.5 points above average to the WR position. Amon-ra boasts a 23% target share on the season and will look to continue his streak of 6 straight games over double digit points.
DK Metcalf $26
KC’s Defense has been suspect lately giving up fantasy points above average to the QB, RB, WR, and TE position. They even allowed the porous Broncos offense to score 28 and the Texans with Chris Moore as their top receiving option to score 24 points. In comes DK Metcalf. I love this spot for Metcalf this week and so does the field as he has the third highest ownership projection.
Marquise Goodwin $19
Goodwin is a solid play for all the reasons listed above and because he should see an uptick in targets with Lockett out. He also fits well as a solid bring back option in expensive Mahomes stacks.
Juju $19
Juju has back-to-back games over 10 targets and remains cheap relative to his role in the offense as he saw the highest target share in the offense last week at 26%. I prefer Juju over Goodwin in cash but will have exposure to both in Kc/Sea stacks.
Brandin Cooks $18
Cooks looks to be in line to start again this week and gets the league’s worst secondary in his return. If Cooks does somehow miss the game, Moore would be cash viable again this week.
Tight Ends
Travis Kelce $38
There’s probably not enough value on this slate to play Kelce at $38 in cash games but he’s always playable with Mahomes in tournaments in case he has a 3-touchdown game. This game environment against Seattle could shootout and I love Kelce in this spot against a defense that gives up 4.61 points above average to the TE position.
Mark Andrews $21
Andrews has not been good since about week 6, but this is a plus matchup. If Lamar does return to the lineup, I would have interest in Andrews in cash games. However, I think he’s playable in tournaments due to the matchup against an Atlanta team that gives up 3.61 points above average to the Tight End position.
Noah Fant $12
Noah Fant makes for a cheap stacking option in the KC/Sea game. Fant has back-to-back games with over 5 targets and a touchdown, so I like him in cash games in this game environment and in tournaments as well. Double Tight end in tournaments isn’t out of the question for me.
Daniel Bellinger $10
Top Fantasy points per Dollar player via the Domination Station and I love a good punt option. Minnesota is really bad against opposing wide receivers and slightly below average against tight ends. The Giants don’t have many reliable passing options so I could see Bellinger making value. I prefer Fant in Cash but if you absolutely must save $2, Bellinger is there.
Defenses
Baltimore Ravens $18
Ridder didn’t look great last week, and Atlanta’s 14-point team total is lowest on the slate. I think you should have some GPP exposure there.
New Orleans Saints $11
The Saints are cheap, and the Browns offense has not been good since Watson returned to the lineup – averaging just 11.5 points the last two games.
Cincinnati Bengals $10
Bengals are the top Fantasy points per Dollar play this week with a 7.27-point projection.
Top Yahoo! DFS Stack of the Week
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce
Total Stacking Price: $75
Total Projected Ownership: 37%
Statsational’s model loves this game and especially the Chiefs side of it. Let’s just say they project to score even more than the Vegas 29.5 team total and they’re the top projected passing offense this week with over 300 yards. Furthermore, Kelce is the best Tight End in the league by a landslide and Seattle is third worst in the league at defending the Tight End position. Mahomes and Kelce are expensive, so double stacks are much more doable with a $11 Toney type (practiced in full on Wednesday.) While this stack is chalky because of Mahomes, this will require paying down at RB and there will be some contrarian options as listed below.
Top Yahoo DFS Leverage Plays
Gardner Minshew at 7.78%
Minshew’s $20 price is low enough that he doesn’t need to have a ceiling game to provide tournament winning upside. He was a GPP winning combo in week 13 of last season with Goedert and obviously he can be paired with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith as well.
Geno Smith at 1.82%
This ownership is way too low for Geno in what is projected as a fantastic game environment – in a week where they’re hard to find I might add. One way to get different and save salary is including Kelce as a bring back in Geno stacks.
Justin Fields at .32%
I’ll have lots of Fields’ exposure at this sub 1% ownership. We’ve already had multiple ceiling games from him this year and as he showed last week, he can still score in tough matchups and has his eye on the QB rushing record.
**Update** Both Walker and Mckinnon’s ownership numbers have climbed but are still leverage off of the 6 RB’s with over 24% projected ownership.
Kenneth Walker at 10%
This is a good matchup in a great game environment and there’s a legit chance that the Seahawks just lean on their young playmaker in the running game. He’s a great way to get direct leverage in this game.
Jerick Mckinnon at 9%
Seattle is allowing 7.15 points above average to the RB position which is bad enough for the worst run Defense in the league and the Chiefs continue to give Mckinnon carries and scheme him open in the passing game. I’m actually shocked by this low ownership but check back Saturday morning to see how these ownership totals change before lock.
Devonta Smith at 6.91%
Smith is projected as low owned as well since Hurts is out of the lineup and Brown’s ownership isn’t high either at 10%. I like Smith and Brown only in Minshew stacks this week.
Stefon Diggs at 5.32%
We want to play Studs with slate breaking upside at low ownership.
Marquise Goodwin at 4%
Goodwin is a solid play for all the reasons listed above and because he should see an uptick in targets with Lockett out. He also fits well as a solid bring back option in expensive Mahomes stacks and at low ownership!
Travis Kelce at 7%
One of the best plays on the entire slate at 7% ownership? Yes please.
Noah Fant at 4%
Noah Fant makes for a cheap, low owned stacking option in the KC/Sea game. Fant has back-to-back games with over 5 targets and a touchdown, and he makes for an interesting Double Tight end build in tournaments that provides salary and chalk relief.
