We’ll kick off this slate with the Clippers, they’ll be without Reggie Jackson and Norman Powell in this one while it looks like Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are going to be full go’s. Paul George bounced back nicely after being in pretty terrible form. He’s averaging just 38.5 DraftKings points over his last three, but I don’t mind building off of that last game and going back to him here. Kawhi Leonard just feels overpriced relative to his production, I’ll wait for that price to come down or the production to come up on him. Ivica Zubac is interesting at the very least, we’ve seen a massive ceiling from him this season, but we’ve seen him be volatile as well as we saw last time out. I would expect John Wall to start in Jackson’s place and maybe he gets close to 30 minutes here? He has a 28.9% usage rate and 1.07 fantasy points per minute with Jackson off of the court this season, he looks like a nice option. From the Wizards, they’re going to be without Bradley Beal over their next few games, I would anticipate Corey Kispert slides back into the starting lineup with Beal sidelined. Below is how the rest of the team operates with Beal off of the court this season:
- Kyle Kuzma – 30.3% usage rate; 1.06 fpm
- Will Barton – 19.3% usage rate; 0.82 fpm
- Kristaps Porzingis – 30.3% usage rate; 1.34 fpm
- Monte Morris – 17.8% usage rate; 0.76 fpm
- Deni Avdija – 17.3% usage rate; 0.88 fpm
These would be my favorite options, I got a bunch of Kuzma and Avdija last night and that may be the case again in this one. Avdija has at least 32 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and his price tag hasn’t budged. Kuzma, Avdija, and Porzingis will be my main pieces from the Wizards yet again.
5-star play: Kyle Kuzma, Kristaps Porzingis, Deni Avdija
4-star play: Paul George, John Wall, Marcus Morris, Ivica Zubac
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Kawhi Leonard, Terance Mann, Ivica Zubac, Monte Morris
Quick shoutout to VIP member “Cenzamatic” on a massive $20k win last season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!
Brooklyn Nets @ Indiana Pacers
Vegas Total: 230.0
Vegas Spread: Ind -1.0
Starting with the Nets, Ben Simmons will have a rest day after playing on the front end of a back-to-back while Nicolas Claxton comes in as questionable after missing their game last night. I’m going to operate under the assumption that Claxton is good to go here, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. Kevin Durant has been much better as of late and is averaging 57.3 DraftKings points in three games against the Pacers this season, he’s going to look like a great spend-up option yet again in this one. Kyrie Irving has been in better form over his last couple of games as well and gets a similarly elite matchup against this Indy defense. I do like going right back to Nicolas Claxton with Simmons out, his minutes become extremely secure, and has major double-double upside. Royce O’Neale will continue to play all the minutes he can handle and is a solid filler piece. Then Joe Harris and Seth Curry are solid GPP options, but good luck predicting which of them will have the big game. From the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton kept it rolling last night and gets a great matchup again in this one. He’s a nice option if you can’t quite get up to that $10k price range. Myles Turner is a guy I like getting to as well, especially if Claxton is forced to miss. Opposing big men have destroyed this Nets frontcourt all season long. Bennedict Mathurin will continue to be a tournament option here, it’s really nice to see the minutes be more consistent but his production has still been volatile. The same can be said for Jalen Smith, but he’s kind of the opposite, he doesn’t quite see the minutes but his production is great when he’s out there.
5-star play: Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Tyrese Haliburton
4-star play: Nicolas Claxton, Myles Turner
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Joe Harris, Seth Curry, Royce O’Neale, Jalen Smith, Bennedict Mathurin
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Vegas Total: 221.5
Vegas Spread: Cle -6.0
Starting with the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to look great and is a guy I like going right back to in this one, but probably more as a tournament option simply due to how good this Cavs defense is. Josh Giddey has been in good form with at least 34 FanDuel points in three of his last four and is in a similar boat where I wouldn’t have any issues with taking a flyer on him in tournaments. Lu Dort is fine, but he feels like he’s priced right where he should be and is volatile. Then the rest of this team is tough for me to prioritize or get any real exposure to outside of GPPs. They’re doing weird stuff with the lineup outside of these main three guys such as switching up the starting lineup in the second half of games and randomly pulling minutes. That said, guys like Aleksej Pokusevski, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, and Jalen Williams are fine GPP options in this one. SGA, Giddey, and Dort are pretty much the only guys we know who are going to see their minutes. From the Cavs, Donovan Mitchell ended up missing the game last night and will likely come in as questionable here. I’m going to operate under the assumption that he’s a full go, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates as we get closer to lock. Darius Garland was a guy I pivoted to quite a bit with Mitchell out last night and he was fine, but nothing great, he’s a fine option again here regardless of if Mitchell plays. Jarrett Allen came down to Earth last night as well and burned a few of my lineups, that said, he’s still too cheap in a great matchup. I can’t say I love the price tag on Evan Mobley, but the production as of late warrants it, he’s more of a secondary option for me. Then we can round this team out with Caris LeVert who had a big game last night, he’s a guy I’ll probably core again if Mitchell is out, but if Mitchell plays he’s right back to being a tournament-only option.
5-star play: Jarrett Allen
4-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Aleksej Pokusevski, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Jalen Williams, Evan Mobley, Caris LeVert, Kevin Love
Dallas Mavericks @ Chicago Bulls
Vegas Total: 224.0
Vegas Spread: Chi -2.0
Starting with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic continued his elite form last night and will look great again here against a Bulls team that has been struggling this season. He’s a top spend-up option on this slate if we can find the salary to get to him. Christian Wood was a guy I was lower on due to the foul potential last night, and that’s exactly what happened as he saw just 23 minutes. I do think we can go back to him here, his minutes have been much more secure as of late. Spencer Dinwiddie is a fine option, but on a nice-sized slate, I’m not sure how much I’ll get to him at this price range. Tim Hardaway Jr. came back down to Earth last night but still has been much better as of late with at least 43 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. From the Bulls, DeMar DeRozan bounced back nicely the last timeout and we know he’s going to play all the minutes he can handle, he’s going to look like a solid secondary option in all formats here. I do like going right back to the well with Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic at their respective price tags, however. Vucevic had a massive game last time out and LaVine has at least 44 DraftKings points in back-to-back games. Outside of the main three, there isn’t a ton I like from this team other than the obligatory Andre Drummond mention at a sub-$4k price tag on DraftKings. That said, he hasn’t played double-digit minutes in his last three games, so it might be getting a little cute on this slate.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic
4-star play: Christian Wood, Spencer Dinwiddie, Tim Hardaway Jr., DeMar DeRozan
Deeper Value: Andre Drummond, Alex Caruso
GPP Sleeper: Spencer Dinwiddie, Christian Wood, Alex Caruso
Boston Celtics @ Golden State Warriors
Vegas Total: 237.0
Vegas Spread: Bos -2.5
Starting with Boston, they’ll be without Al Horford in this one so I would expect we see Grant Williams back in the starting lineup while Blake Griffin may see some extra minutes as well. I would hope we get better value open up than these two guys, but keep them in mind regardless. Jaylen Brown is in unreal form right now with at least 42 FanDuel points in four straight games. This is a nice pace-up spot against the fastest team in the league, the Warriors, as well. Malcolm Brogdon has been good as well, but his minutes are going to be volatile when this backcourt is healthy and active. Maybe he sees more minutes if they move Brown and Tatum up a position with Horford out at times, but he’s more of a tournament option than anything here. Jayson Tatum continues to lead the team with a 32.8% usage rate and 1.36 fantasy points per minute, I have no problem with him as a spend-up option as well. We can round the team out with Marcus Smart who is a fine secondary option as well, he’s been in great form. From the Warriors, they should get their main guys back in this one outside of Andrew Wiggins who will continue to be out. Jordan Poole should continue to start in his place and has been much better when he’s starting this season and has a 29.6% usage rate and 0.98 fantasy points per minute with Wiggins off of the court this season. Steph Curry had a rough go of it last time as he shot just 17% from the field, I would expect a bounce back in this one, but man the price tag is tough. Klay Thompson has at least 38 DraftKings points in three straight games and is a nice option again in this one. Then Draymond Green and Kevon Looney are fine secondary options but not guys I’ll be prioritizing.
5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Steph Curry
4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green
Deeper Value: Blake Griffin, Grant Williams, Kevon Looney
GPP Sleeper: Grant Williams, Blake Griffin, Malcolm Brogdon, Kevon Looney

Starting with the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen comes in as questionable after missing their last two games again here. He’s missed these games due to illness which makes me think he’ll be back here, so I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s a full go. I don’t think I’ll want to go right back to him at an elevated price tag, but he’s a solid tournament option at the very least. They’ll continue to be without Collin Sexton again, however, which means we may see Nickeil Alexander-Walker starting again as we did last night. If he starts again, he’s going to look like one of the top value options on the slate at near min price. He has nearly a fantasy point per minute with Sexton off of the court this season. We’ll need to watch the starting lineup in case they decide to go back to Mike Conley, but for now, I’ll assume Alexander-Walker starts and looks great. Jordan Clarkson seems like he’s priced right about where he should be which makes him more of a secondary option than anything. I do like Kelly Olynyk a good amount, his minutes have really solidified as of late but he’ll need to stay out of foul trouble. Lastly, Walker Kessler and Jarred Vanderbilt are fine GPP values as well, they’ll need their size tonight against Jokic down low. Nikola Jokic bounced back nicely last time out and now has at least 55 FanDuel points in two of his last three and will look like an elite option again here if we can find the salary. Jamal Murray has been extremely consistent as of late and has a 27.7% usage rate and 1.06 fantasy points per minute with Michael Porter Jr. off of the court this season, I like going right back to him here even after a rough game last time out. Bruce Brown and Aaron Gordon will continue to play all the minutes they can handle while Porter Jr. is out as well, both look like nice mid-range options in this one. Then guys like Bones Hyland and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are fine GPP options if you land on them, but won’t be guys I look to prioritize by any means.
5-star play: Nickeil Alexander-Walker (if starting), Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Lauri Markkanen, Kelly Olynyk, Jordan Clarkson, Jamal Murray, Bruce Brown, Aaron Gordon
Deeper Value: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
GPP Sleeper: Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Bones Hyland, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Portland Trail Blazers
Vegas Total: 231.5
Vegas Spread: Por -5.5
Starting with the Wolves, they’ll continue to be without Karl-Anthony Towns for the next few weeks. Anthony Edwards will be a guy I go right back to, he sees a nice bump in his rates with Towns out… he has a 29.5% usage rate and 1.27 fantasy points per minute with him off of the court this season. He did get a little banged up last night, but he returned and played his normal minutes. Rudy Gobert was a guy I had a ton of last night and will be the same tonight. He’s looked much better over his last couple of games and gets a nice matchup again in this one. I do like D’Angelo Russell, however, he’s been extremely consistent as of late with at least 32 FanDuel points in eight straight games, and gets an elite matchup here. Jaylen Nowell continues to play well and should see around 25 minutes again going forward, I have no issue with him here again. Then guys like Kyle Anderson and Jaden McDaniels will see a boost with Towns out as well, Anderson is your cash guy and will start for Towns while McDaniels is a bit more volatile. From the Blazers, Damian Lillard had a massive game last time out but I’m not sure I’ll expect him to make nine three’s again in this one. That said, he’s a nice spend-up option in all formats in a great matchup here. Anfernee Simons is priced a bit too high for me with Dame back in the rotation, so he’ll be more of a tournament guy. Jerami Grant continues to look great and play all the minutes he can handle, he’s a nice option in all formats. Jusuf Nurkic continues to play great as well with at least 41 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. It’s a tougher matchup with Gobert down low, but I think we can go right back to the well with him here. Josh Hart comes in as probable, he and Justise Winslow will look like nice mid-range options to round out the slate, although Winslow’s minutes are trending in the wrong direction.
5-star play: Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Damian Lillard
4-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Jerami Grant, Jusuf Nurkic
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Jaylen Nowell, Kyle Anderson, Jaden McDaniels, Josh Hart, Anfernee Simons
NBA Lock of the Day: Deni Avdija (DK – $4.7k; FD – $5.5k)
Avdija was a guy I had in my core last night and will be all over him again tonight. The Wizards will be without Bradley Beal again, so the minutes are pretty secure for him once again. He’s been in great form as of late with at least 32 DraftKings/30 FanDuel points in back-to-back games. He’s too cheap for the role and form he’s in, I like going right back to the well on a guy that should play all the minutes he can handle. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
