The NHL DFS slate for 11/29 offers a medium-large set of 9 games. An early glance shows Nashville leading the way in implied goals, so we can expect optimizers to love them early on today. Boston and Calgary also rank higher in expectations, but fall short of Nashville facing a common team to pick on in Anaheim.

Defense – Roman Josi (NSH)
The heart and soul of the Nashville Predators finds himself as one of the best plays tonight facing the Anaheim Ducks. Josi quarterbacks the ice, not just the power play, and has one of the highest floors night in and night out due to serving on both special teams units, funneling pucks to the net for his forwards, and blocking shots on defense. The high floor is great for cash games, but twice in his last six games, Roman Josi has tested his ceiling upwards of 6x his salary on Draftkings….that’s a GPP winner if he reaches that number tonight.
Wing – Matt Duchene (NSH)
Duchene has been on the uptick recently and draws a softer matchup tonight with a couple goals and a couple assists in his last handful of games. At just $4300 on Draftkings, he finds himself in the same salary range as slumping players DFS players will also use tonight like Jonathan Huberdeau (CGY) and Jaden Schwartz (SEA).
Duchene also finds himself outperforming more expensive players like Evan Rodrigues (COL) and Carter Verhaeghe (FLA) who sometimes become optimizer darlings on slates and rather chalky plays. Should Matt Duchene find points tonight, you’ll appreciate taking the easy matchup over just playing what an optimizer gives you.
Wing – Filip Forsberg (NSH)
Again with the Predators players? Yes. When projections speak, sometimes we need to listen.
The theme here is matchup based, though…and pricing. On Draftkings, the Preds are cheaper than they likely should be for the matchup tonight. Forsberg has been a bit up and down lately, but this is an “up matchup” where his likelihood of reaching the 5+ shot bonus should factor in tonight and boost his floor. Playing Josi, Duchene, and Forsberg gives you multi-line coverage to help your cash game floors, overlap on the top power play unit (where ANA is only 68% on the kill over the last 3 weeks), and correlated upside to win your tournaments should you benefit from a little puck luck tonight.
Center – Elias Pettersson (VAN)
If you want recent consistency, look no farther than Vancouver centerman, Elias Pettersson. Dude has paid off his salary in each of his last five games with 4 G, 3 A, and 21 shots. His price seems to hover around the $7000 mark, so it’s not as if he’s become more expensive through this recent run. He finds himself between a couple linemates on VAN2 also showing well rounded games capable of both scoring and/or setting up other skaters.
Vancouver is a potent offense, and the Canucks find themselves potent largely due to the play of this skating line.

NHL DFS Stacks for Tonight
It should go without saying we are going to focus on Nashville PP1 tonight based on industry projections. The top power play unit stack is where I’d start. However, I’d also issue a word to the ultimate contrarian tonight…over the last three weeks, both Nashville and Anaheim have struggled to score goals. This game might play to the under, yielding a great fade opportunity as well. Welcome to the world of predicting NHL DFS.
To be contrarian to the contrarian, let’s also swing the pendulum hard in the other direction. The rare opportunity to DOUBLE STACK the Predators on a larger 9-game slate also presents itself tonight. This move is beyond ballsy and shouldn’t be used for anything but the largest of fields. However, Draftkings allows upwards of 6 skaters from the same team and the price/production potential today allows us to use either NSH1, NSH2, the PP1 or a mix/match of L1/L2 together if one wants to overload and push all their chips into the middle of the table using a “go big or go home” strategy sure to catch the industry off guard.
Another obvious stack to look into is VAN2 using Pettersson, Kuzmenko, and Mikheyev and their current production to your advantage.
