If you’ve been paying attention to our Milly Maker reviews this season, you might notice that there’s been several slates with over 250 total points – 6 out of 9 to be exact – and that those slates came with heavier stacking than we saw in most of the 2021 Milly Maker winners.
In fact, week 1 is the only time this year when we had a winning lineup with over 250 points that didn’t have a QB + 2 Pass Catchers. Weeks 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9 all had a QB + 2 pass Catchers. Furthermore, weeks 2, 4, and 9 all had at least one bring back in addition to the QB + 2.
Even with a Running Quarterback like Fields who only threw for 123 yards, a double stack is in consideration as we’ve seen it in 55% of the winning lineups through half of the 2022 Season. As always, if the game is going off enough to support a QB + 2, then a bring back is in play as well.
44% of the time there’s been at least one secondary stack as well.

96% was the total team ownership of Milly Maker winning lineups over the entire 2021 Season; In 2020 the total Team ownership was 108% and through 9 weeks of the NFL Season, we’re currently at an average of 120%. We’ve had a lot of chalk smashing in recent weeks as the past 3 weeks have a combined average of 162% total ownership. This has been a combination of chalky stacks like last week with Tua, Hill, Waddle, and chalky value plays like Stevenson this week and 50% Pollard in Week 8.
We’ll have to dig deeper into the numbers later, but my theory is there is a correlation between scoring being down and the contrarian plays being atop the leaderboards. In 2020, the average score of winning lineups was 243 and total team ownership was 108%. In 2021, the average score of winning lineups was 233 and the total team ownership was 98%. We now have a 2022 season-to-date scoring average of 251 and a total team ownership of 125%.
Top Leverage Plays
Kenneth Walker at 13%
When we have crazy chalk such as Rhamondre Stevenson at 40% ownership, we can look at 13% and 12% leverage plays such as Kenneth Walker and Joe Mixon. Kenneth Walker was the 2nd highest scoring RB on the slate and leverage off of Ekeler, Etienne, & Stevenson.
Joe Mixon at 12%
How does it get better than Mixon outscoring the chalk by almost 30 points? Mixon was far and away the top leverage play of the day at near 10% ownership. He was leverage off of 24% Ekeler, 39% Etienne, and 40% Stevenson lineups without Mixon in the mix. Joe Mixon also kept coming up in the Domination Station Optimals which is always an indicator of a big day, ahead.
Cole Kmet at 1%
Cole Kmet was the top leverage play of the day at tight End. In back-to-back weeks, we’ve seen the Tight End be the difference maker. Kmet was 1% rostered and the top scoring Tight End of the day. He was leverage off of every other Tight End.
Pricing and Value from the Milly Maker Contest
| Week 9 Milly Maker Lineup | Pricing | FPTS Per Dollar |
| Justin Fields | $5,300 | 8.62X |
| Rhamondre Stevenson | $6,200 | 2.58X |
| Joe Mixon | $6,500 | 8.93X |
| Tyreek Hill | $8,500 | 3.56X |
| Christian Kirk | $5,500 | 3.92X |
| Darnell Mooney | $4,700 | 3.72X |
| Cole Kmet | $3,000 | 7.33X |
| Kenneth Walker | $6,200 | 4.98X |
| Patriots DST | $4,100 | 6.34X |
| Total | $50,000 | 5.36X |
After 6 consecutive weeks to start the season when we had no Running Back or Pass Catcher priced above 8K, we’ve had 3 consecutive weeks of one RB or WR priced above 8K. What it takes for one of these high-priced players to make it into the winning lineup is when a player like $5300 Fields smashes his salary to the tune of 8.62x. The Fields/Mooney/Kmet stack was extremely cheap, averaging $4333 a piece and over 6X their salary.
This entire lineup was over 5.36X which is 3rd highest on the season. This lineup also had the highest priced Defense that we saw on the Season at $4100 – surpassing the Week 4 Eagles DST priced at $3800.
Ceiling
251 points. That is average scoring total of winning Milly Maker lineups as we hit the halfway point of the 2022 NFL Season. When RapidFireXD won the first Milly Maker to start the Season with 251 points, that was a foreshadowing of what was to come. 251, 284, 210, 252, 244, 224, 255, 272, and 268 total points. Despite a few weeks of under 250 points, we have 6 weeks of scoring over 250 points, bringing the seasonal average to 251 points.
250 points is the target to hit to win the Milly Maker, and the most probable way to get there, is at least QB + 2 pass catchers in your primary stack and some secondary stack as well. The seasonal average of stacked players in the winning lineup is currently 5 players.
Not coincidentally, when the scores are higher, the stacks are thicker. Do you even correlate? Cue that DFS Army intro song.
