Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Chicago Bulls @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 218.5

Vegas Spread: Tor -2.0

We’ll kick off this slate with the Bulls, Zach LaVine comes in questionable which will be big news on this slate because if he plays I really don’t love getting to this Bulls team all that much. That being said, if he sits we can go right back to guys like DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic along with some of these ancillary pieces. Below is how this team operates with LaVine off of the court on the season:

DeRozan and Vucevic would obviously be my favorite options but on a short slate, these other guys are in play as well. NOW, if LaVine ends up playing, I would likely get off these ancillary guys and the main three for Chicago would become just filler/secondary pieces for me. From the Raptors, it sounds like they’ll be without Pascal Siakam while Fred VanVleet comes in as questionable. I’ll operate under the assumption that VanVleet sits again since we’ve seen it quite a bit lately. I would anticipate Christian Koloko gets the start for Siakam, but probably isn’t a guy that I’ll have a ton of interest in. I’d rather get to a guy like Chris Boucher or Precious Achiuwa off of the bench simply because we’ve seen them do it before. Below is how this team operates with VanVleet and Siakam off of the court last season:

These are my favorite options which may seem obvious but sprinkle Boucher and Achiuwa in there as well. We’ll need some news on this slate so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates, but the below 5/4 star plays are based on the assumption that LaVine, Siakam, and VanVleet are all out – we’ll have things updated in that feed if this is not the case.

5-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Scottie Barnes

4-star play: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr., Chris Boucher

Deeper Value: Christian Koloko, Chris Boucher, Precious Achiuwa

GPP Sleeper: Ayo Dosunmu, Alex Caruso, Chris Boucher, Precious Achiuwa

Quick shoutout to VIP member “Cenzamatic” on a massive $20k win last season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!

Washington Wizards @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -9.0

Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal will be out for this one which will open up a bunch of minutes and usage for the rest of this team. I would expect we get Will Barton in the starting lineup and would be a guy I definitely have an interest in at this price tag. We know he has a ceiling and isn’t afraid to take control of the offense when he’s in there. Kristaps Porzingis had a 32.1% usage rate and 1.49 fantasy points per minute with Beal off of the court last season and will look like an elite play again in this one. Kyle Kuzma saw a nice bump with him out as well with a +3.1% usage increase and +0.08 fantasy points per minute, he’ll look good as well. Then guys like Monte Morris and Rui Hachimura make sense at their respective price tags to round out my interest in the Wizards. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has lost some production over his last few as this team begins to get healthier, he just feels overpriced, but on a short slate, I won’t talk you off of him in a good matchup. Desmond Bane came down to Earth last time out but still has at least 45 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. Steven Adams has been a monster over his past couple of games with at least 40 DraftKings points in back-to-back games. I don’t have a problem going back to him again here. Dillon Brooks is more of a GPP option, we know he loves to shoot while he’s in there but with Morant and Bane demanding shots as well, it may be hard for him to get as many as he may want. Santi Aldama and Brandon Clarke are fine cheap options as well to round out the team.

5-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Will Barton

4-star play: Kyle Kuzma, Monte Morris, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams

Deeper Value: Will Barton

GPP Sleeper: Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, Santi Aldama, Brandon Clarke

Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Lac -3.5

We’ll round the slate out starting with the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen bounced back in a big way last time out and now owns a 24.4% usage rate to go along with 1.22 fantasy points per minute, he’s going to look great again here. Jordan Clarkson has looked great as of late as well, it’s nice to finally see him get consistent minutes for once. Collin Sexton has been a guy I’ve been getting more of as of late, he’s beginning to get more minutes and has been floating around that 30-minute mark in three of his last four games. His price has come up, but I do like the matchup and would think they continue to look to him for additional minutes as we get deeper into the season. Kelly Olynyk has been pretty volatile to start the season, he would be more of a GPP option for me. Jarred Vanderbilt has been fine as of late but isn’t racking up the double-doubles like he was earlier in the season… his minutes did come back up last time out and is a solid secondary option. Mike Conley will always be a secondary type of guy for me and is someone I’ll have no issue with if you land on him, but not a priority by any means. From the Clippers, they’ll be without Kawhi Leonard for the next few games, so we can take him off of the court here. Paul George has cooled a bit since his massive game against the Rockets, but I think he’s a solid option again here regardless in a nice matchup. Reggie Jackson … stinks, and has been incredibly volatile, now with John Wall back I can’t see that helping his cause. He’s more of a GPP dart than anything for me. The same can be said for Norman Powell who apparently also stinks, but showed signs of life last time out. I wouldn’t have an issue with him as a GPP flyer on a short slate. Ivica Zubac is volatile but has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four, he’ll look good for tournaments again here. Then we can round out the team with Marcus Morris who has seen big minutes as of late with Robert Covington out. Covington comes in as a game-time decision but with how he’s producing and Luke Kennard being out as well, I don’t see those minutes going anywhere, and is a guy I like getting to again here.

5-star play: Lauri Markkanen, Paul George

4-star play: Jordan Clarkson, Collin Sexton, Kelly Olynyk, Jarred Vanderbilt, Marcus Morris, Ivica Zubac

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Olynyk, Mike Conley, Reggie Jackson, Norman Powell, Marcus Morris, Ivica Zubac

NBA Lock of the Day: Kristaps Porzingis (DK – $7.9k; FD – $8.6k)

The Wizards will be without Bradley Beal in this one which will make Kristaps look like a great option in all formats. With Beal off of the court last season, Kristaps had a 32.1% usage rate and 1.49 fantasy points per minute. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
