Memphis Grizzlies @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: Nop -1.5

We’ll kick off this slate with the Grizzlies, it sounds like Desmond Bane will miss this one while Jaren Jackson Jr. will make his season debut. I would expect Jackson to be limited enough to where I likely won’t want to get to him here, but below is how this team operated with Bane off of the court last season:

I would expect Konchar continues to start for Bane again here and looks like a fine mid-range value option. Morant has at least 57 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and will look good again in this one. Dillon Brooks feels slightly overpriced on DraftKings, but at $5.2k on FanDuel, he’s a great option. From the Pelicans, Zion Williamson comes in as questionable, so we’ll have to keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s a go for the sake of this article. Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum seem to be priced right around where they should be and would be fine secondary options here. We kind of know the deal with Jonas Valanciunas by now, he has a massive ceiling but an incredibly low floor making him more of a tournament-only guy. The same can be said for Larry Nance who had a big game last time out, but his good games have been few and far between.

5-star play: Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks (FanDuel)

4-star play: Dillon Brooks (DraftKings), Jonas Valanciunas, John Konchar, Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum

 Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jaren Jackson Jr, Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, Zion Williamson, Jonas Valanciunas, Larry Nance Jr.

Quick shoutout to VIP member “Cenzamatic” on a massive $20k win last season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!

Los Angeles Clippers @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 211.5

Vegas Spread: Dal -6.5

Starting with the Clippers, Paul George has been fine as of late but not relative to his current price tag. That said, I do like the matchup against the Mavs here… but I’m not sure it’s enough for me to want to get to him. They will continue to be without Kawhi Leonard which will help, and John Wall will likely come in as questionable, so there is a patch for him… but it’s rocky. Ivica Zubac is a solid option here, I like targeting opposing big men against this Mavs frontcourt. Marcus Morris had a rough game last night but is playing all the minutes he can handle and is a solid mid-range option again here. Then Reggie Jackson and Norman Powell are GPP options only due to how all over the place they have been this season. I will be more interested in Jackson if Wall is forced to miss again, however, due to the minute’s security. From the Mavericks, Luka Doncic had a massive game last time out and continues to be one of the league’s best DFS producers with a 39.1% usage rate and 1.69 fantasy points per minute on the year. Christian Wood returned last time out to play 25 minutes and had a solid night, I just think he’s a bit overpriced considering how efficient he needs to be in his minutes. Spencer Dinwiddie has at least 36 FanDuel points in five of his last six games and is a solid option in all formats again here… although I do think he’s a bit riskier with Wood back to take some of that usage. Then Tim Hardaway Jr. has been good over his last couple of games and will be a good tournament option at his price tag.

5-star play: Luka Doncic

4-star play: Paul George, Ivica Zubac, Marcus Morris, Spencer Dinwiddie

Deeper Value: Tim Hardaway Jr.

GPP Sleeper: Ivica Zubac, Reggie Jackson, Norman Powell, Tim Hardaway Jr., Christian Wood

New York Knicks @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 230.5

Vegas Spread: Uta -4.5

Starting with the Knicks, it sounds like Mitchell Robinson has a shot to return in this one but if he doesn’t we could see Isaiah Hartenstein back in the starting lineup after he started on Friday. He played 33 minutes in the game prior and would be a guy I have an interest in in this scenario. Julius Randle has at least 43 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and is a fine option in all formats here. Jalen Brunson has been sneaky good as well with at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four. He’s priced right about where he should be as always, however. RJ Barrett had a rough go of it last time out but has been much better as of late, I would have no issue with him as a tournament option either. From the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen has been volatile relative to his price tag but we’ve seen a massive ceiling from him this season. I do like going back to him in tournaments in this one. Jordan Clarkson has had a couple of down games over his last couple but still has at least 34 DraftKings in three of his last five. Mike Conley is always a fine option, but never a guy I really prioritize. Kelly Olynyk and Jarred Vanderbilt are solid options in that price range as well if you need a cheaper center option. Then, Collin Sexton is probably more of a tournament guy as well due to the volatility in minutes and production.

*** The below assumes Mitchell Robinson is OUT ***

5-star play: None

4-star play: Isaiah Hartenstein, Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk, Jarred Vanderbilt, Collin Sexton

Brooklyn Nets @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Sac -1.5

Starting with the Nets, they’ll continue to be without Kyrie Irving as he serves his suspension. Then Seth Curry should return here and is coming off of a game where he saw his highest minutes of the season last time out. I’ll operate under the assumption that he plays and looks like a solid pivot off of the chalkier options in this range with at least 31 DraftKings points in back-to-back games. Ben Simmons is unplayable as long as he continues to come off of the bench at this price tag, the minutes just aren’t there right now. Kevin Durant has a 32.6% usage rate and 1.48 fantasy points per minute with Kyrie out this season and is an elite option in all formats. Nic Claxton looks great as well as he’s starting to get more run even with Simmons in the rotation. Then guys like Royce O’Neale and Joe Harris are fine options but not guys I’m prioritizing. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox came down to Earth last time out after dominating the Lakers. I have no problem going right back to him in a great matchup against this Nets’ defense. Domantas Sabonis has been extremely consistent as well and is also coming off of a massive game. I love attacking this Nets frontcourt with opposing bigs. Keegan Murray bounced back in a big way last time out and played a massive amount of minutes, he’s a solid mid-range option as well. Kevin Huerter has been volatile all season and can be scoring-dependent, making him more of a tournament guy. The same can be said for guys like Malik Monk and Harrison Barnes as well.

5-star play: Kevin Durant, Domantas Sabonis, De’Aaron Fox

4-star play: Nic Claxton, Keegan Murray, Kevin Huerter

Deeper Value: Joe Harris, Seth Curry

GPP Sleeper: Seth Curry, Joe Harris, Malik Monk, Harrison Barnes, Kevin Huerter

San Antonio Spurs @ Portland Trail Blazers

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Por -7.0

We’ll round out the slate starting with the Spurs, Tre Jones ended up missing last night’s game with an illness but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s good to go in this one. Keldon Johnson leads the team with a 28% usage rate and 1.13 fantasy points per minute on the season and will look like a strong option again in this one. As I write this, it’s about halftime of their game against the Warriors and he’s having a pretty rough game. We’ll see how things end for him, but I still think he’s in play here regardless. Jakob Poeltl has been much better as of late with at least 41 FanDuel points in two of his last three games and looks good again in this one. Devin Vassell has been extremely consistent this season but is priced right about where he should be, so he won’t be a priority for me, but you could do much worse in this price range if you fall there. Tre Jones is in a similar boat, he’s been great, and I think the price tag may be slightly too low on him. Then we can round the team out with Jeremy Sochan who has been seeing much better minutes as of late and is a Draymond Green-ish player, he provides some nice value here. From the Blazers, Jusuf Nurkic and Justise Winslow come in as questionable so we’ll need to watch the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status. Damian Lillard had a massive game last time out as well and I love targeting this Spurs team with opposing point guards. Anfernee Simons has been pretty consistent as of late as well with at least 31 FanDuel points in four straight games and is a fine option again in this one. Jerami Grant has back-to-back games with a 50 burger and will continue to play all the minutes he can handle. Then Drew Eubanks will look like a solid value option again here if Nurkic is forced to miss.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, Jakob Poeltl, Tre Jones, Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jeremy Sochan, Justise Winslow, Josh Hart, Jusuf Nurkic

NBA Lock of the Day: Seth Curry (DK – $4.2k; FD – $4.7k)

At the time I write this, there isn’t a ton that stands out on this slate in terms of cheaper value or value in the mid-range but I do think there is plenty of meat on the bone with Mr. Seth Curry. He should return in this one and has at least 31 DraftKings/29 FanDuel points in back to back games. With Kyrie still out he’ll be asked to take on a larger ball-handling duty as well. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
