Yahoo! Cash Game Players for Week 8
Last week in Cash we were able to hit the Cash line by playing high floor/high upside plays of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Jacobs, & Kenneth Walker that combined for 91.72 points on our way to beating 50% of the field in 50/50 Cash games. This week we’ll look for similar plays in Cash and some Leverage plays that we can use to get different in Tournaments.
Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts $39
He’s the highest priced Quarterback on the slate for good reason. With no Allen or Mahomes, Hurts is the go-to play against a Steelers Defense that ranks 22nd in the NFL. Hurts has a projection of 24 points at DFS Army – which is 4 points higher than the next highest QB.
Tua Tagovailoa $33
I prefer the Hurts’ floor over Tua, but we can’t ignore that this is the highest projected score on the slate, Miami has the highest projected team total, and Statsational’s Power Rankings have Miami with the most projected passing yards this week. With Waddle and Hill to rip apart that porous Lions Defense, it’s no wonder as to why. In tournaments like the Yahoo Baller, Tua stacks with Hill, Waddle, and Gesicki are certainly in play.
Sam Ehlinger $20
Ehlinger looked great in the preseason and brings a rushing floor at minimum pricing. With a 16.4 projection and $20 salary, he’s tied as the best Fantasy Points per Dollar play this week. Justin Fields is $20 as well and just a half point behind Ehlinger. He might even be a safer play because we’ve seen his rushing floor in regular season games.
Running Backs
Derrick Henry $40
Henry is going against the Houston Defense that is allowing over 160 yards per game to opposing Running Backs and he has absolutely gashed Houston in the past. The last two times Henry went against Houston, he averaged 39 points. The last 3 weeks, we’ve seen Henry touch the ball an average of 29 times, for 140 yards per game, and 3 total touchdowns.
Saquon Barkley $39
Another great matchup for Saquon who has looked great this year; He projects within a fraction of a point between Jacobs and Henry this week at DFS Army, and I’ll certainly have some exposure to him in GPP’s like the Yahoo Baller. However, being able to afford just one Running Back near $40, the deciding factor for me will be that Daniel Jones does a lot of scrambling himself and can vulture Touchdowns from Barkley, so Henry is my preferred play between the two.
Josh Jacobs $29
What a year for Josh Jacobs so far on a heavy workload. He’s averaged 28 touches over the last 3 games, and projects as the highest scoring Running Back this week with a 17.92 projection; Jacobs is also $10 cheaper than Saquon Barkley. He’s still underpriced compared to the other elite backs – considering his 6 touchdowns and 31-point average over the last 3 weeks.
Kenneth Walker $25
The Giants are giving up a lot of yards to opposing Running Backs, (over 115) and Walker has averaged over 132 yards in his first 2 starts with 3 touchdowns to go along with it. Statsational’s Power Rankings have the Seattle rushing attack to rush for over 150 yards and projected to win the game, so Kenneth Walker has the right game script to continue his hot streak.
D’onta Foreman $19
With Hubbard out, Foreman is a nice pivot for me if Zeke does play and Tony Pollard becomes unplayable in Cash. Foreman projects as the third highest fantasy points per dollar back at .73.
Tony Pollard $17
Zeke is trending towards missing the game with a knee injury, and if he does, Pollard will be the top value play on the entire slate. Even in a timeshare with Zeke, Pollard has produced double digit points in 4 out of 7 games this season while averaging 5.23 yards per carry over that span. With the Dallas running game projecting very well this week against the 31st ranked rushing Defense, I’m all in on Pollard at $17.

Wide Receivers
Justin Jefferson $34
3 Straight games of over 130 yards for Justin Jefferson and he hasn’t scored since week 1. He’s due for some serious positive touchdown regression with his elite 30% target share to match his elite talent. He’s projected to be the top scoring Wide Receiver on the slate with a 19.64 projection.
Tyreek Hill $34
The game environment is too good and with the paydown options at QB, I love Hill this week in my cash game lineup. His 32% target share provides an exceptional floor and we know his ceiling is 40+ points.
Deandre Hopkins $27
Boy did it look like Murray was sure missing Hopkins as the Arizona offense just looked much better the other night with Hopkins playing. In his first game back, he got 14 targets and turned them into over 100 receiving yards. He’s 6th in Wide Receiver projections and barely priced over $25 so he’s a cash game play for me this week.
Chris Olave $22
Olave’s 23% target share is more than double the next closest in the offense. (Kamara) This game projects as a game environment that we want to build around and the Saints have the 2nd highest projected passing total on the slate. Olave might finish as the top Fantasy Points per Dollar play at Wide Receiver this week.
Tyler Lockett $18
Lockett’s first game back from a hamstring injury was underwhelming compared to the production we got from him before the injury, but if he’s active again and DK is out of the lineup, he could see even more targets. Lockett currently projects as the WR9 this week and all other Wide Receivers are priced above $20 so he provides some good floor and salary relief to pay up elsewhere.
DJ Moore $17
The Panthers traded CMC and made DJ Moore the focal point of the offense with a staggering 41% target share last week. This week Moore gets a Falcons Defense that is allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Yes please.
Curtis Samuel $13
2nd highest fantasy points per dollar play this week at DFS Army’s Domination Station. I’ve learned that the Domination Station knows better when it’s trying to jam in a player, so I don’t fight with it, or I’ll lose money that day.

Tight Ends
George Kittle $17
Kittle’s usage has been on the rise with a 22% target share last week, and he’s passed the eye test as he looks like the Kittle we remember. He has the 2nd highest projection of Tight Ends this week with no Kelce or Andrews on the main slate.
Irv. Smith $15
Arizona is the 3rd worst defense vs passing attacks and is poor covering tight ends. Irv. Smith is a great play this week – especially in stacks with Cousins.
Juwaun Johnson $12
5 targets and 2 touchdowns last week. We need touchdowns on Yahoo and Johnson seems to be a security blanket for Dalton who is in line to start again this week. He’s a good pay down option this week as well as $11 Noah Fant.
Defenses
Indianapolis Colts $14
Projected for 8 points and only $14. Heinicke threw a pick six last week and almost had another one early in that game vs Green Bay. We want to target Quarterbacks with not a lot of experience.
Tennessee Titans $11
2 interceptions last week against Matt Ryan and this week they get Mills who has thrown as many interceptions as touchdowns over his last 4 games. At $11, the Titans project as the top Fantasy Points Per Dollar Defense this week.
Top Yahoo! Stack of the Week
Tua Tagovailoa & Tyreek Hill
Game total: 51 Points
Team Total 27.25 Points
Projected Ownership: 29.99%
The Statsational Power Rankings projections have Miami with the highest team total on the slate and highest total of passing yards. Hill is seeing a 32% target share on the season, and we know how electric he can be with the ball in his hands. He hasn’t gotten in the endzone since week 2 so he’s due for some positive touchdown regression against the same Lions Defense is allowing over 160 yards per game to wide receivers.
Stacking with Waddle and Gesicki is also how I’m looking to attack this game.
Top Yahoo! Leverage Plays
Kirk Cousins at 6%
with a high game total of 49 points and the favorite with a 26.25 team total, we want to target Quarterbacks projected as favorites. Low owned are even better and obviously Cousins can be stacked with Jefferson, Thielen, and Irv. Smith.
Michael Carter at 3%
Breece Hall tore his ACL and went on IR this week. The Jets then traded for James Robinson, and we have no idea what his usage will be this week. I like the uncertainty with Carter at really low projected ownership, as we’ve seen him score over 25 points before with 15+ carries.
Darrell Henderson at 2%
Henderson is very cheap, and Akers is rumored to be on the trade block after being inactive last week. At $13, Henderson doesn’t have to do much to have tournament winning upside and he’s a great leverage play at less than 3% projected ownership.
Devonta Smith at 6%
We’ve already seen Smith’s tournament winning upside in week 3 this year when Smith had 169 yards and a touchdown at 5% ownership. At low projected ownership, I want some exposure to Smith again in Hurts team stacks.
Mack Hollins at 2%
What happens if the high projected Raiders/Saints game goes off and the scoring doesn’t go through Jacobs this week? We’ve already seen Mack Hollins score 25 points this year and Carr continues to target him as he had a touchdown last week.
