Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Phoenix Suns @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 215.0

Vegas Spread: Pho -1.5

We’ll start this game off with the Suns, Devin Booker had a down game last time out and that can be said for most of this Suns team, as they allow Dallas to climb back into this series a bit. I don’t have any issue going right back to Booker here, he’ll play around 40 minutes in a competitive game and has a 32.2% usage rate with 1.25 fantasy points per minute on the season. Chris Paul is in the same boat, he had a down game but I don’t expect that to happen more often than he looks good. The price tag looks much better on him as well from the start of this series. Deandre Ayton was a guy I was really high on last time this team played after a dud game two where he got into foul trouble. That’s always an edge I look for in game logs, a lot of people will see the 11-point fantasy night and not look much further… he bounced back nicely last time out and will be a guy I go right back to here. This Mavs team is not good at rebounding which gives him a nice floor and ceiling. Mikal Bridges has been great this postseason and we know the minutes will be there for him, very solid mid-range option. Then we can round this team out with Jae Crowder and Cam Johnson who will look like solid secondary pieces at their respective price tags, both can get hot from behind the three-point line at any given moment. Crowder was a guy I was high on last slate as well and is one of those guys that was just born for postseason basketball. From the Mavericks, Luka Doncic continues to look great and will need to carry this team if they stand any chance at sneaking out of this series. He’s pretty clearly the top spend-up option on the slate and a guy I want to get to if we can find the value to make it work. Jalen Brunson sees a -3.9% usage rate and about 0.15 fantasy point per minute decrease with Luka on the floor but he’s this team’s second option right now and had a really nice bounce-back game last time out with 42.5 DraftKings points. Spencer Dinwiddie was extremely popular last time out and I didn’t exactly understand it outside of him just kind of falling into people’s builds, but he was on my leverage sheet as a guy I was underweight on (see below), but he’s just not getting enough usage when he’s playing most of his minutes with Luka on the court with him.

Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock are pretty similar to me, we know they’re both going to play all the minutes they can handle and will look like nice filler options for your rosters. Dwight Powell will start at center and get the first crack at production but has not been good this postseason as they’ve played the hot hand between him and Maxi Kleber. That being said, it’s pretty clear that Kleber fits better in this series and will be a guy I get to much more than Powell.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, Devin Booker

4-star play: Jalen Brunson, Reggie Bullock, Dorian Finney-Smith, Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder

Deeper Value: Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell, JaVale McGee

GPP Sleeper: Spencer Dinwiddie, Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell, Cam Johnson, JaVale McGee

Quick shoutout to VIP member “Cenzamatic” on a massive $20k win earlier in the season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!

Miami Heat @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: 207.5

Vegas Spread: Phi -2.0

We’ll kick this slate game off with the Heat, Kyle Lowry returned last time out and played 25 minutes but definitely looked a little rusty. He has a nice price tag again and is a guy I’m okay taking a flyer on. All of these Heat guys are coming in as questionable, but I’ll just operate under the assumption that they all play as we’ve seen this whole postseason. That said, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed if any of Lowry, Tyler Herro, Max Strus, etc get ruled out for some reason. Jimmy Butler now has at least 50 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and will be a guy we can go right back to here in all formats and saw a price decrease. Bam Adebayo takes a big hit with Embiid being back for the Sixers simply due to the defensive upgrade, so he’s a guy I think we can be lower on again. The rest of this team struggled similar to how the Suns did, they were held to 79 points which is obscene but I don’t have an issue going back to guys like Herro, Strus, and even guys like Tucker and Oladipo… the prices look really nice on them. Then we get to the Sixers where we saw Joel Embiid return and play 36 minutes after Doc Rivers said he wouldn’t see his usual minutes… he’s the worst, plain and simple. Embiid comes into this game as questionable but he’s going to play and play big minutes. The price tag is really nice on him and will look like a solid GPP option at the very least. The Heat will play tough defense on him, but the ceiling on him is massive when he has everything working for him. Miami continues to play James Harden extremely tough and will be a guy I’m underweight on again here. He’s shooting terribly and has been held to under 40 FanDuel points in each game of this series. I don’t have an issue getting to Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey again either, they’re going to play massive minutes and if the Heat are going to focus on Embiid and Harden defensively these guys should see a bunch of open looks like we’ve seen this postseason. Then we get to Danny Green… He’s going to be a guy I go way underweight on just because I think people chase his game from game three where he shot 7-9 from three-point range. He’s not going to shoot 7-9 again here and is extremely volatile. Then we can round this team out with Matisse Thybulle who is a liability on offense but should play 20+ minutes for defensive purposes if you really want to throw a dart.

5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid

4-star play: Tyler Herro, Max Strus, Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, James Harden, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey

Deeper Value: Georges Niang, Matisse Thybulle

GPP Sleeper: Deandre Jordan, Georges Niang, Matisse Thybulle, Victor Oladipo, PJ Tucker, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry

NBA Lock of the Day: Tyrese Maxey (DK – $6.7k; FD – $7.3k)

Maxey was my lock of the day last time these two teams played and will be a guy I go right back to the well on. I like the price tag much more on DraftKings where his price came down $300, but still a nice play on both sites. The Heat are focused in on Embiid and Harden on defense so Maxey and Harris should continue to see a bunch of open looks and driving lanes. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
