Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics
Vegas Total: 215.5
Vegas Spread: Bos -4.5
We’ll kick this slate kicked off with the Bucks who were able to pull off the “upset” last time out? I’m not sure how much I want to call it an upset, but everyone and their mother had Boston penciled in for that one. They’ll continue to be without Khris Middleton and should see Bobby Portis in that starting lineup again as they’ve gone big with their starting five. Portis has at least 34 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is a guy I’ll go right back to, he also has a double-double in four straight. Giannis Antetokounmpo has a 35.8% usage rate and 1.74 fantasy points per minute with Middleton off of the court this season and will be an elite play on this slate as usual. I don’t love the price tag on Jrue Holiday but he sees a nice bump in production with Middleton out as well. Brook Lopez has been a bit more volatile with Portis in the starting lineup but hasn’t really had that game where he gets hot from behind the three-point line yet in the postseason, so I like going to him in tournaments. Grayson Allen came back down to Earth over his last two games but is still going to see around 30 minutes and get around 5-10 open threes with how much the defense is collapsing on Giannis. I do like going back to Pat Connaughton as well as a cheap option, he has around 0.95 fantasy points per minute with Middleton off of the court and with Giannis/Jrue both on the court with him. Then guys like Wesley Matthews and Jevon Carter are MME punts at best to round out this team. From Boston, Marcus Smart comes into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s good to go here. The matchup sets up well for him and will be a guy I like going right back to in this one. Jayson Tatum had a down shooting night in game one as he adjusts to playing a real defense opposed to that Nets defense he saw in round one. The price did go up a bit but I still like going right back to him here. Jaylen Brown has a really nice price tag and is averaging 41.8 DraftKings points per game in four games against the Bucks this season and is a guy I like here as well. Al Horford is in for a big series and will be a guy I’m overweight on again here. He’s going to play that Nikola Vucevic role for the Celtics that we saw from the Bulls in round one. The Bucks are going to play their drop defense and have no issue leaving Horford open for threes, as he shot nine of them in game one. Robert Williams played just 22 minutes in game one after having his minutes restriction lifted, he’ll be more of a GPP guy for me. Then guys like Grant Williams and Derrick White will be secondary filler options to round out Boston.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford
4-star play: Jrue Holiday, Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, Jaylen Brown, Marcus smart
Deeper Value: Pat Connaughton, Derrick White, Grant Williams
GPP Sleeper: Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, Wesley Matthews, Jevon Carter, Grant Williams, Robert Williams, Derrick White
Quick shoutout to VIP member “Cenzamatic” on a massive $20k win earlier in the season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!
Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies
Vegas Total: 227.5
Vegas Spread: GSW -2.0
We’ll start this game off with the Warriors, and we saw Jordan Poole go back to the bench with Gary Payton getting the start… and then they changed their mind at halftime and sent Poole right back into the starting five. I would imagine we see that small lineup with Poole starting again here after his massive game one where he went for 56.1 FanDuel points and will look like a great option again here. Steph Curry will be a fine spend-up option but is a bit too scoring-dependent for me at this price tag. We know he has massive upside if he can get hot from behind the arch, however. Klay Thompson is in a similar boat, he brings a nice floor due to the minutes he’s going to play and has that monster ceiling, he’s a nice option in all formats. Draymond Green was ejected last game so go ahead and ignore that game log, I have no issue going right back to him due to his ability to stuff the stat sheet. Andrew Wiggins will always be more of a tournament option than anything for me but on a two-game slate, I won’t talk you off of him in your single entry lineups. Gary Payton was a guy I was high on last time out due to the role he’s playing on this team and the price tag, he’s a nice value option in all formats even if he’s coming off of the bench again. Then we can round this team out with Otto Porter Jr. who is a guy I think looks good in this series, we know they want to go small, so he could see some more run closer to the hoop as they get more minutes for these stretch-five guys. From Memphis, Desmond Bane comes into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he plays. He had a down game one but has been one of the most important parts of this offense, I’ll have no issue going right back to him here. Ja Morant is averaging 51.5 DraftKings points per game in four games against the Warriors this season and will look like one of the better spend-up options on this slate. Jaren Jackson has had back to back monster game… crazy what happens when he doesn’t get into foul trouble. He’s probably more of a tournament guy due to his foul issues, but I don’t hate taking the risk on him in cash/single entry. Brandon Clarke continues to be a guy I like as well, he’ll match up best right along with Jackson as a small-ball five against this small Warriors team. Dillon Brooks has been a bit more volatile than I’d like and is another guy that has trouble with fouls, but again, no issue going back to him due to his ability to light things up. We saw De’Anthony Melton get launched back into the rotation as well last time out and will look like a useable value option to round out this team.
5-star play: Ja Morant, Desmond Bane
4-star play: Jordan Poole, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jaren Jackson Jr., Brandon Clarke, Dillon Brooks
Deeper Value: Gary Payton, De’Anthony Melton, Xavier Tillman
GPP Sleeper: Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton, Otto Porter Jr., De’Anthony Melton

NBA Lock of the Day: Al Horford(DK – $5.8k; FD – $5.6k)
I’m going right back to the well with Al Horford here, I think he takes on that role that Nikola Vucevic played against the Bucks. They’re going to play that drop defense that leaves these stretch-fives open for threes all day long and that was evident in game one when he attempted nine of them. He’s averaging 30.3 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Bucks this season and I think that can only go up from here. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
