Inflation didn’t skip The Masters this year. The overall prize pool increased nearly 30% from $11.7 million in 2021 to $15 million in 2022. Even players that didn’t make the cut got paid a chunk of cash that might make you hit the driving range this weekend.
This year’s champion, Scottie Scheffler, receives $630,000 more than last year’s champion, Hideki Matsuyama, with a 1st place prize of $2.7 million! In fact, in 2022, the top 3 spots all eclipsed $1,000,000 in prize money.
How much did everyone else make? Let’s find out…

Those Players That Missed the Cut…
Even the players that missed the cut received $10,000 for their troubles. Well, everyone except the amateurs.
It was great to see Tiger Woods back in action. But, the “Tiger Woods Affect” is very real in terms of the money he has almost singlehandedly brought into the game of golf. As the money continues to find the PGA Tour, the prize money will continue to climb higher and higher through the years. Thank you, Tiger!
