Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Philadelphia 76ers @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 210.0

Vegas Spread: Phi -1.5

We’ll kick this slate kicked off with the Sixers, where it’s starting to feel like the pressure is flipping to Philly to close this out before this gets to a game seven. Joel Embiid has been a guy I’ve been fading due to how the Raptors are playing him. He’s been held under 40 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and will be a guy I’m lower on again here, especially with his new thumb injury. James Harden hasn’t exactly been great either, that being said, I’d still be more likely to get to him than Embiid at this price tag. Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey have played bigger roles than I would have expected them to in this series so far and will look like nice secondary options again here. Since this game is in Toronto means Matisse Thybulle will be out again so I think we could get a few more Danny Green minutes if you want to ride that roller coaster. From the Raptors, Fred VanVleet is considered doubtful for this game, so we can operate under the assumption that he’s out. Below is how this team operates with him off of the court this season:

I would expect Barnes to start at point guard again and Khem Birch at the five, as we saw last game. I do like both Achiuwa and Thad Young more than Birch even though he’s starting, all these guys will look like nice options here due to the number of minutes they’ll play. I do like targeting Gary Trent in particular anytime VanVleet is out due to the usage and production increase he sees with him out.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes

4-star play: Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, OG Anunoby

Deeper Value: Thad Young

GPP Sleeper: Danny Green, Thad Young, Precious Achiuwa

Quick shoutout to VIP member “Cenzamatic” on a massive $20k win earlier in the season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!

Phoenix Suns @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: 214.0

Vegas Spread: Pho -2.0

We’ll start this game off with the Suns, they’ll continue to be without Devin Booker with optimism that he could be back later in this series if needed. I would think we see Cam Johnson continue to start in his place. Below is how this team operates with Booker off of the court this season:

Paul bounced back in a big way last time out and was doing everything for this team. I have no issue going right back to him even with Herb Jones and Jose Alvarado doing a nice job defensively on him. Johnson now has back-to-back 25+ DraftKings nights after a dud in the first game without Booker, both he and Jae Crowder look like nice options in that price range. Then we have to talk about the Mikal Bridges game… he dropped a 50 burger last time out in 47 minutes. We know he’s going to play all the minutes he can handle and will take on a bigger role in this offense with Booker out, he’s a nice option in all formats. From the Pelicans, CJ McCollum bounced back a bit last time out but they’re going to need him tonight if they want to avoid elimination, so I have no issue going right back to him here. Jonas Valanciunas kept it rolling last time out and will be a guy I look to go back to here, they’ll need his presence in the lane along with snagging those rebounds. Brandon Ingram has been great in this series as well, I’m generally not a big Ingram guy for fantasy, but he’s been extremely aggressive… that said, this price tag is really hard for me to stomach, so I’ll likely be underweight similar to how I was last slate. Larry Nance should continue to play 20-25 minutes again here and will be a guy I like as a value option on this slate. Then we can round this team and slate out with Herbert Jones who will play all the minutes he can handle due to his defense and will look like a nice secondary option.

5-star play: Chris Paul, CJ McCollum, Jonas Valanciunas

4-star play: Jae Crowder, Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Brandon Ingram

Deeper Value: Larry Nance

GPP Sleeper: Cam Payne, JaVale McGee, Herbert Jones, Larry Nance

Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 209.5

Vegas Spread: Utah -1.0

We’ll start this game off with the Mavs who will go into Utah in hopes to close this thing out. Luka Doncic has at least 54 DraftKings points in back-to-back games since returning from injury and will look like a top spend-up option on this slate. Jalen Brunson has been great even with Donicc back… obviously not as enticing from a fantasy perspective but I do still think he’s in play here due to the minutes and role he’ll play. The one guy I would be off of with Luka back is Spencer Dinwiddie, he loses a ton of minutes and usage with Luka out there. That said, his price tag did come down if you want to take a shot at him in tournaments. I have no issue with guys like Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock as secondary options and have both shown the ability to put up big games as of late, but neither are priorities by any means, they’ll both play all of the minutes they can handle here. I think you can take a shot at Dwight Powell as well as a value option as well. From Utah, Donovan Mitchell is struggling with lower-body injuries to his quads and hamstrings but sounds like he’s going to be a go here after a rough game five. They will need him big time here if they want to avoid elimination… still probably more of a tournament option for me with that said. Rudy Gobert is a guy I’m good with getting back to in all formats, this Mavs team isn’t great at rebounding, and expect a nice night from him here. Then I’ll have no issue going right back to guys like Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley who are both coming off of awful games last time out… I don’t expect them to shoot a combined 1-10 again here. We can round this team out with guys like Jordan Clarkson and Royce O’Neale in tournaments, Clarkson is the better per minute guy but O’Neale will play more minutes. Clarkson also has at least 32 DraftKings points in back-to-back games.

5-star play: Luka Doncic

4-star play: Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Reggie Bullock, Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, Mike Conley

Deeper Value: Royce O’Neale, Dwight Powell

GPP Sleeper: Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell, Donovan Mitchell, Royce O’Neale

NBA Lock of the Day: Scottie Barnes (DK – $6.2k; FD – $6.5k)

I’m going right back to the well on point Scottie tonight! I would expect he gets the start at point guard with Fred VanVleet coming into this one as doubtful. He had a nice game last time out and will play all the minutes he can handle in an elimination game at a really nice price tag. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
