Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total: 219.0

Vegas Spread: Mia -7.0

We’ll kick this slate kicked off with the Hawks who come into this game down 0-1 in the series and will look to snag a road game before going back to Atlanta. Trae Young continues to struggle with this Heat defense, after a rough game 1 he’s now averaging just 36.4 DraftKings points per game in five games against the Heat this season. I don’t know that I really want to go back to him here in anything other than tournaments, although the price tag does look nice. Clint Capela will continue to be out here after suffering a knee injury against the Cavs. Onyeka Okongwu got the start in his place last time out and would expect the same again here, however, I’m not all that convinced he’ll close. This game was a blowout, but he still saw just 21 minutes… I’m thinking they try and go small and close with Collins at center, as he looked rust-free in his first game back in game 1. Speaking of John Collins, he played 21 minutes in his first game back but did look good while he was out there. I would expect those minutes to come up significantly if he can handle it from a conditioning standpoint. Bogdan Bogdanovic shot terribly in game 1 and has been pretty volatile as of late, I’ll consider him more of a GPP option, but they’ll need his playmaking if they stand any chance in this series. Then we can round this team out with secondary filler pieces in guys like De’Andre Hunter, Danilo Gallinari, and Kevin Huerter. From the Heat, playoff Jimmy Butler is always a guy I like to get to and looked good in game 1, but had his minutes cut short due to the blowout. I’ll have no issue going right back to him here. Bam Adebayo comes into this game as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates on his status, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s good to go here. Tyler Herro was killed by the blowout as well which is normal for sixth men like him. They don’t get that fourth-quarter run like they normally would, I think he’s still in play here however, I’m expecting this game to be a little tighter as the Hawks make adjustments. Kyle Lowry has been as consistent as they come as of late and will look like a nice option again here at his current price tag. Max Strus should continue to start for the Heat and will look like a solid value option here as well to round out the team… unless we get really desperate for value, PJ Tucker can be useable due to the minutes he’ll see here… that said, I don’t want to chase his game 1 like a lot of the public will. The same can be said for Duncan Robinson, he won’t shoot 8/9 from three-point range again so those are two leverage spots I think we can get on this slate.

5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Trae Young, Onyeka Okongwu, Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Andre Hunter, Danilo Gallinari, Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro

Deeper Value: Max Strus, PJ Tucker, Duncan Robinson

GPP Sleeper: John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Max Strus, PJ Tucker, Duncan Robinson

Quick shoutout to VIP member ā€œCenzamaticā€ on a massive $20k win earlier in the season! Sometimes paying up for double studs works, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant brought it home for him with the help of some Stanley Johnson and Pistons value. Good work and congrats man!

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 241.0

Vegas Spread: Mem -7.0

Starting with the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns had a big bounce-back game after struggling in their play-in game. I like going right back to him here at a really nice price tag. Anthony Edwards continues to look great and is in for a massive playoff run, I like going right back to him before his price gets over $9k. D’Angelo Russell had a down game in game 1 but is still averaging 44.7 DraftKings points per game in five games against the Grizzlies this season and will be a guy I go right back to here as well. We know Patrick Beverley is going to bring the intensity and will play all the minutes he can handle. He’s been right around this price tag all season long and hasn’t been shy about paying it off, he’ll look like a nice mid-range option after a nice game 1 performance. Jarred Vanderbilt hasn’t been as productive as we’d like but also seeing less than 20 minutes per game even though he’s starting. He would be more of a GPP value option until those minutes come up on him. Then we can round this team out with Malik Beasley and Jaden McDaniels as guys who are getting good minutes and performing well, they’ll both look like nice options at their respective price tags. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant got back up to his usual minutes in game 1 and looked great, he’ll be in play as a spend-up option again on this slate. Jaren Jackson and Steven Adams are guys I liked in the first game due to the matchup against this frontcourt. Adams was awful… and will probably be a guy I need to see it from or have his price come way down before I go back to him. Jackson struggled with foul trouble which led to a big game from Brandon Clarke. Foul trouble is always in the range of outcomes for Jackson which makes him more of a GPP guy for me, but Clarke is in play regardless simply because I think he sets up better in this matchup than Adams does. The price tags on Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane look about right here and should be solid secondary options on the wing.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, Ja Morant

4-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Patrick Beverley, Jaren Jackson Dillon Brooks, Desmond Bane

Deeper Value: Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaden McDaniels, Brandon Clarke

GPP Sleeper: Malik Beasley, Jaden McDaniels, Brandon Clarke, Steven Adams

New Orleans Pelicans @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 221.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -9.5

Starting with the Pelicans, CJ McCollum had a nice bounce-back game in game 1 and will be a guy I get to at a nice price tag in this one. Jonas Valanciunas was a guy I was really heavy on and made both my core and leverage plays last time out and he crushed, I like going right back to him here. Brandon Ingram will continue to be a guy that I’m fine with getting whatever exposure I happen to land on with. He’s not a priority of mine by any means, I just don’t see how he kills us by fading him at this price tag. I do think Herbert Jones will look like a nice mid-range value again, he’s going to play all the minutes he can handle, as he’s their best defender so he should have no issue running into some fantasy points… although isn’t a great per minute guy. Larry Nance had another nice game last time out and should continue to play 20-25 minutes in this one and will look like a solid value option. From the Suns, Devin Booker is averaging 45.5  DraftKings points per game in five games against the Pelicans this season and will look like a solid option in all formats. The same can be said for Chris Paul who had a massive game in game 1, the real Playoff P has arrived (maybe?). Deandre Ayton was huge for the Suns last postseason in their run to the finals and would expect more of the same this year, the price tag feels too cheap for him here, and has been in great form as of late. I’m never a huge Mikal Bridges guy simply because he’s not a great per-minute producer, but if you land on him as a filler piece I would have no issue with it. Jae Crowder was dreadful in game 1 but if people are going to be off of him because of that performance I’ll be overweight, he won’t be that bad again. Then we can round the team out with Cam Johnson and JaVale McGee… they’ll be fine secondary GPP options in this spot.

5-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Herbert Jones, Chris Paul, Jae Crowder

Deeper Value: Larry Nance

GPP Sleeper: Larry Nance, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson

NBA Lock of the Day: Anthony Edwards (DK – $8.2k; FD – $9.3k)

I wish his price tag was similar on FanDuel to what it is on DraftKings where I think he’s just too cheap. He’s going to carry them on this playoff run and gives them the best shot at upsetting the Grizzlies. I’m going to ride him until he’s over $9k on DraftKings. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
