Deshaun Watson’s Saga Ends; Headed to the Cleveland Browns
What a wild ride it has been for Deshaun Watson. After not being criminally charged, Watson has found himself traded to the Cleveland Browns in a massive deal. In addition, Watson is expected to agree to a five-year, $240-million contract, 100-percent fully guaranteed. For the dynasty managers that made the plunge and stood tall, you will reap massive rewards.
Fantasy football managers will certainly be able to utilize Watson with confidence. For some time now, Cleveland’s offense has been held hostage by Baker Mayfield (who is expected to be traded). Plus, Cleveland added route-running stud Amari Cooper to bolster their receiving core.
A minor concern, in-general, would be seeing how this offense balances their run and pass game. Head coach Kevin Stefanski does prefer running the ball first but with a quarterback like Watson, Stafanski would be unwise to force feed his talented duo of running backs. Another minor concern would be how quick Watson shakes off the rust after sitting for an entire NFL season.
Watson is a borderline tier-one/tier-two quarterback with upside to finish as the top fantasy football player in his position. Donovan Peoples-Jones and David Njoku stand to gain the most with this acquisition.
Devante Adams Exits Green Bay for Las Vegas
Devante Adams is now a Las Vegas Raider, something that seemed like a long shot given the organization’s struggles. Upon being traded, Las Vegas will be giving Adams a five-year deal worth $142.5-million.
While this deal feels good for the Raiders’ camp and Adams, some fantasy managers are left scratching their heads a bit. Quarterback Derek Carr, who Adams really wanted to be reunited with, has not made a history of carrying stud wide receivers. However, it is fair to say that Carr has never had a megastar at the receiver position.
In Carr’s eight-year career he has only carried 4 wide receivers over 1,000 receiving yards in a season. On the other side, Adams is elite and that is unquestioned. Someone as talented as Adams can easily amass 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns, so long as the ball gets to him and that should be a priority given the contract he received.
This does detract from Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow’s fantasy appeal. Renfrow carried small optimism being in the slot with new head coach Josh McDaniels, who has a decorated history of elevating slot receivers, but Adams will likely push down his usage quite a bit.
Adams remains a top tier wide receiver with likely potential to finish as the WR1 overall in fantasy football.

Allen Robinson Signs with the Los Angeles Rams
After burning fantasy football managers in 2021, it is hard to have a clear picture for Allen Robinson.
To start, Robert Woods is still on the Rams’ roster. While Los Angeles has fielded trade calls for Woods, they are also actively engaged at retaining Odell Beckham Jr. It is hard to imagine the Rams retaining more than two of Robinson, Woods and Beckham – nevertheless all three.
Assuming that it will be Kupp, Robinson and Van Jefferson Jr, Robinson has great WR2 potential in this offense. When quarterback Matthew Stafford is on his game, he certainly can sustain two wide receivers. Assuming some regression for Kupp, Robinson may potentially elevate into the high-end WR2 area but a lot of things will have to go right for him in order to sustain that volume.
Robinson is a high-end WR3 that has potential to easily finish in the WR2 range.
JuJu Smith-Schuster Added to the Kansas City Chiefs
This signing certainly boosts the stock of JuJu Smith-Schuster and he could capitalize on a bigger contract after this one-year deal.
It is important to convey Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will be the WR1 and WR2 for this offense. Smith-Schuster does compliment these players nicely as Hill is a stretch player and Kelce occupies the middle of the field; Smith-Schuster is a possession receiver who commands respect from opposing defenses, which will open up more lanes for the stud receivers.
The Chiefs’ offense has been top notch multiple years, but adding Smith-Schuster could round out their best receiving core that Patrick Mahomes has had.
View Smith-Schuster as a WR3 that could have week-winning moments for fantasy managers. He is one injury away from picking up a lot more of a target share so Best Ball managers should have no hesitation if he falls in drafts.
