Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Chicago Bulls @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 231.5

Vegas Spread: Chi -4.0

We’ll kick this slate off starting with the Bulls, DeMar DeRozan was a guy I was lower on last time out due to the matchup and was held under 40 fantasy points. I have no problem going right back to him here in a great matchup against a Hawks team that has struggled defensively. Nikola Vucevic is averaging 51.3 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Hawks on the season and looks like a great option tonight. Zach LaVine will be more of a GPP option, he just hasn’t shown the same consistency that DeRozan and Vucevic have as of late. I guess you can make a case for Ayo Dosumnu and Coby White in GPPs or MME, but I’m not sure how much I’ll land on them on a decent-sized slate. From the Hawks, John Collins comes in as doubtful again as he’s missed the past handful of games but Trae Young comes in as questionable, so news we’ll have to keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for, that said, I’m operating under the assumption that he plays since he returned to the game he got hurt in. He’ll look like a solid GPP option at the least here, but did struggle in this matchup last time out. He may burn me every now and then, but I’m going to continue to go back to Clint Capela with John Collins and Onyeka Okongwu out… he should play all the center minutes he can handle, and averaging 39 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Bulls this season. I ended up getting more Bogdan Bogdanovic than I was expecting to last slate and performed well, I have no issue going right back to him here. Then the trio of Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter, and Danilo Gallinari all look like solid secondary options.

5-star play: DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Clint Capela

4-star play: Zach LaVine, Trae Young, Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, De’Andrue Hunter, Kevin Huerter

Memphis Grizzlies @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -2.5

Starting with the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has been in unreal form with at least 56 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is a guy I like a lot here even in a tough matchup with this Celtics defense. Jaren Jackson Jr. has been volatile as of late, so would be more of a GPP option in a tougher matchup. Desmond Bane and Steven Adams both look like solid secondary options and guys I wouldn’t mind landing on as filler pieces. Then the rest of this team is more MME-type plays than anything for me in this matchup. From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown will be out for them tonight, below is how this team operates with Brown off of the court this season:

I would anticipate White will get the start for Brown in this spot and will look like a solid option in all formats. Outside of him, Tatum will be my favorite option for obvious reasons leaving the rest of these guys as solid secondary options in a decent matchup against the Grizzlies in what should be a nice-paced game.

5-star play: Ja Morant, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Jaren Jackson, Desmond Bane, Steven Adams, Marcus Smart, Derrick White, Robert Williams

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jaren Jackson, Brandon Clarke, Al Horford

Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -2.5

Starting with the Heat, Jimmy Butler had a really rough night last night against the Bucks but gets a nice bounce-back spot here against a much worse defense. I have no problem going right back to him as he got a discount of a few hundred dollars. Bam Adebayo has been on a heater as of late with at least 44 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and will be a guy I continue to ride it out with tonight against a pretty weak frontcourt. I’ll have no issue with Tyler Herro as well with Kyle Lowry out again, he has a 29.6% usage rate and 1.06 fantasy points per minute with Lowry off of the court this season, they’ll need his scoring tonight, and has been in good form. From the Nets, it sounds like Kevin Durant will return here, however, I would expect he’s on a minutes restriction as he comes off of a knee injury and hasn’t played since mid-January. Andre Drummond should return to the starting lineup here as well, but the price is getting up there for him. I’ll consider him more of a tournament guy in a tougher matchup. The same can be said for the rest of this Nets team, generally, I’ll have interest in guys like Seth Curry and Bruce Brown, but I’ve had a pretty stiff rule about teams against the Heat as of late, and unless they’re in a great spot/price tag, I’ll just go elsewhere.

5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Tyler Herro, Andre Drummond, Seth Curry

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Duncan Robinson, Kevin Durant, Seth Curry, LaMarcus Aldridge, Bruce Brown, Patty Mills

Detroit Pistons @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 217.5

Vegas Spread: Tor -8.5

Starting with the Pistons, Cade Cunnigham has found some consistency as of late with at least 32 DraftKings points in five straight games. I still don’t know if I can trust him for cash games quite yet, but a solid GPP option nonetheless. Jerami Grant looks like a solid matchup as we’ve seen his minutes rise as of late which is big for his production. Saddiq Bey has been in solid form over his last few games and certainly passes the eye test with some of the things he can do on the court, he’s a solid GPP option at the very least. Marvin Bagley comes in as doubtful so not only will Grant’s minutes be solidified, but Isaiah Stewart and Kelly Olynyk will have their roles secure as well. Stewart is the preferred option, but Olynyk can get hot at any time and get a few extra minutes for GPPs. From the Raptors, Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby come in as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. I’ll operate under the assumption that at least VanVleet plays for the sake of this article, but hopefully we get this news before lock. Assuming he plays, he should be back to a full go and will look like a nice option in a great matchup. The price tag on Pascal Siakam looks right about where it should be but has been held down a bit over his last four or so games, that said, this matchup sets up well for a bounce back. Gary Trent bounced back nicely last time out, but would probably only be a guy I have interest in if VanVleet sits, but you can make a case for him in MME… the price has just come up. Scottie Barnes followed up his massive game on Monday with a 40 point fantasy night and will look like a good option again here, he will continue to see big minutes regardless of the status of VanVleet and OG. Lastly, if VanVleet sits and Malachi Flynn starts again, he’ll look like a great play due to the minutes he’ll see and his current price tag.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam

4-star play: Cade Cunningham, Jerami Grant, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes

Deeper Value: Malachi Flynn (if starting)

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Olynyk, OG Anunoby, Gary Trent

I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win earlier in the season. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!

Golden State Warriors @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 219.0

Vegas Spread: GSW -2.0

Starting with the Warriors, I’m not sure why Steph Curry’s price has increased, the production hasn’t exactly warranted it. I’ll consider him a tournament-only play in this matchup, he needs to get hot from three to pay off this salary which he’s certainly capable of, but I just think we can do better. I don’t have a problem going to Klay Thompson here, he should be right around 30 minutes and a guy that looks solid in all formats. I’ll decrease my interest in Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole with Klay back in the lineup, making them more of MME-type plays. Then Gary Payton and Kevon Looney are fine secondary value options assuming they both continue to start. From the Mavs, Luka Doncic is averaging 48.2 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Warriors this season and a guy I have no issue going right back to here. Although his price… and really all the stars prices are better on FanDuel. Jalen Brunson had a nice game last time out, I just think we’re going to have trouble predicting who will have the big game nightly between him and Spencer Dinwiddie… so I’ll leave both of them for tournaments, but the matchup does set up nicely. Dorian Finney-Smith has looked great as of late and should be able to continue that against a smaller Warriors team here. Then Reggie Bullock and Maxi Kleber are solid GPP options to round out this team.

5-star play: Luka Doncic

4-star play: Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Dorian Finney-Smith

Deeper Value: Gary Payton

GPP Sleeper: Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Kevon Looney, Gary Payton, Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Reggie Bullock, Maxi Kleber

Sacramento Kings @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 238.5

Vegas Spread: Sas -6.5

Starting with the Kings, Domantas Sabonis looked solid last night and lost a few minutes due to being blowout by the Pelicans, so was in for a bigger night than it actually looks like. I like him in all formats in this matchup. De’Aaron Fox was a guy I was all over last night and just underproduced. He’s playing all the minutes he can handle right now and I’m going to continue to target point guards against the Spurs… did you see what Ja Morant did to them last game? Fox dropped 55 fantasy points on them earlier in the season as well. Harrison Barnes looks like a solid secondary option if you happened to fall on him to complete your builds. Then the rest of this team isn’t getting enough consistent run for me to have a ton of interest in guys like Davion Mitchell, Jeremy Lamb, Donte DiVincenzo, Justin Holiday, etc., they may just play the hot hand of these wing guys. From the Spurs, Dejounte Murray continues to crush and gets an elite matchup with the Kings here, he’s a top spend-up option on the slate. Jakob Poeltl has been in great form and now has at least 50 DraftKings points in two of his last three games, he’ll look like a great option again here. We kind of know what we’re getting out of Keldon Johnson at this point, he’s a nice GPP option, but not a guy that I would want in a cash game. He has shown a bit more of a consistent ceiling as of late which makes it easier to get to him with more consistent minutes as well. The rest of this team is mostly GPP options honestly on a bigger slate, but Devin Vassell would likely be my favorite option due to the minutes he’s locked in to with Derrick White out of town. Lonnie Walker is in a similar boat as well.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Dejounte Murray

4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell

Deeper Value: Donte DiVincenzo

GPP Sleeper: Davion Mitchell, Donte DiVincenzo, Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday, Devin Vassell, Lonnie Walker

Los Angeles Lakers @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 217.0

Vegas Spread: Lac -2.5

Starting with the Lakers, Anthony Davis will be out for the next few weeks which will open up a bunch of usage and minutes on this team. With Davis off of the court his season, James has a 32.8% usage rate and 1.52 fantasy points per minute, he’ll look like a great option here. Russell Westbrook will benefit from Davis being out as well with a 28.9% usage rate and 1.16 fantasy points per minute. Malik Monk is probably more of a GPP guy, but you can do worse in this price range in a good matchup with the Clippers and coming off of a nice game last time out. Then Talen Horton-Tucker has shown some consistency with his minutes but not so much his production, he’ll be more of a GPP guy moving forward due to the ceiling we know he has. Carmelo Anthony should help fill in those Davis minutes as well and looks like a nice option at his price tag. Lastly, we saw Dwight Howard move back to the bench with LeBron moving to center last time out… you can’t play Howard unless he’s starting and I don’t think we’ll have that news before lock. From the Clippers, Ivica Zubac has been in great form with at least 43 FanDuel points in back-to-back games, a revenge game against his old squad as well. Reggie Jackson has taken over as the go-to playmaking option with Paul George and Norman Powell still out, the price is tough on him though. Marcus Morris bounced back nicely last time out as well and a guy I have no issue with here. Then guys like Terance Mann, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Nic Batum will round this slate out as secondary GPP options.

5-star play: LeBron James

4-star play: Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk, Ivica Zubac, Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Talen Horton-Tucker, Carmelo Anthony, Terance Mann, Isaiah Hartenstein, Nic Batum, Robert Covington

NBA Lock of the Day: Clint Capela (DK – $5.9k; FD – $6.4k)

Yesterday’s lock of the day in Malcolm Brogdon went bananas so let’s shoot for the moon again with Clint Capela. He’s burned us a few times over the last month or so but the minutes should be all but locked in tonight with John Collins AND Onyeka Okongwu out for the Hawks tonight. Capela is a 1.14 fantasy point per minute guy with Collins off of the court this season so if he can get into the 30-minute range he’s going to look like a great option in a matchup that he’s been good in a few times already this season. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
