Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Denver Nuggets @ Charlotte Hornets
Vegas Total: 232.0
Vegas Spread: Den -3.5
We’ll kick this slate off starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic will be able to do whatever he wants in this one and will look like one of the better spend-up options on the slate. He scored 65.75 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season and is a guy I like quite a bit here. I don’t have any issues with getting any of Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, or Monte Morris as a filler piece to round out your lineups, but none of them will be priorities for me. I think you can add Bones Hyland to that list as well, he’s scored at least 24 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. From the Hornets, LaMelo Ball has been in more consistent form as of late and is coming off of a big game last night against the Nets. He’ll look like a solid tournament option at the very least. Terry Rozier has cooled off a bit as of late with the consistency of Ball. I’ve been leaning toward Rozier since the all-star break due to the discount you get on him, but if Ball is going to continue to produce, he’d be my preferred option. Miles Bridges started slow last night but salvaged his fantasy day and now has at least 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games. Then we get to the trio of Montrezl Harrell, PJ Washington, and Mason Plumlee who will share center minutes. My favorite option would be Washington due to the minutes security, but they’re all GPP guys. The minutes haven’t really been there for Kelly Oubre as of late which warrants his current price tag, I’ll wait for the minutes to come up before I risk going to him.
5-star play: Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Monte Morris, Bones Hyland, Terry Rozier, Montrezl Harrell, PJ Washington, Mason Plumlee

Orlando Magic @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Vegas Total: 215.0
Vegas Spread: Cle -9.5
Starting with the Magic, Wendell Carter Jr. ended up missing their last game but should return in this one. They’ll need his size against this Cavs frontcourt, but the price tag is still tough to stomach. Cole Anthony was a guy I liked quite a bit last time out but with Carter Jr. and Markelle Fultz back in the lineup, I’ll be lower on him here. Franz Wagner and Mo Bamba both look like solid options in this price range, I would lean Wagner in cash and Bamba in GPP however. Then guys like Chuma Okeke and RJ Hampton are fine MME pieces. I was pretty heavy on Okeke last time out with Carter Jr. out, but he was able to at least salvage a decent enough night and didn’t kill our lineups. From the Cavs, Darius Garland is playing all of the minutes he can handle right now and the matchup sets up well, he’s a nice option… but man the price tag is tough to get to on him even in a nice matchup against the Magic. Evan Mobley has been held under 31 fantasy points in three straight games but is still a guy I would be okay getting to in all formats in this matchup. He scored 37.25 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season. Kevin Love returned to the bench last time out which will all but kill his minutes security. He’ll be more of a tournament guy assuming he’s back on the bench again here. Lauri Markkanen will continue to see big minutes and has at least 30 DraftKings points in three straight games and will look like a solid secondary option. Lastly, the Cavs lifted the minutes restriction on Caris LeVert and played 36 minutes. At his price tag, I have no issue going right back to him in a nice matchup.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Wendell Carter Jr., Cole Anthony, Franz Wagner, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Lauri Markkanen, Caris LeVert
Deeper Value: RJ Hampton
GPP Sleeper: Mo Bamba, Chuma Okeke, RJ Hampton, Kevin Love, Caris LeVert, Darius Garland
Atlanta Hawks @ Indiana Pacers
Vegas Total: 235.0
Vegas Spread: Atl -7.0
Starting with the Hawks, we’re waiting on a bit of news from Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari, as they both come in as questionable. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates, but I’ll operate under the assumption that they’re full go’s. I have no issue getting to either of them as secondary options especially with John Collins still out. Trae Young looks like an awesome option here, he’s averaging 56.47 FanDuel points per game in three games against the Pacers this season and will look like one of the top spend-up options on the slates. Clint Capela bounced back in a big way last time out but just hasn’t been consistent enough as of late to make me consider him in anything other than tournaments. Then I have no issue with De’Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter as secondary options to round out your roster. From the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon will continue to be out here meaning more usage and minutes for the rest of this team. Tyrese Haliburton should stand to benefit and has a 20.8% usage rate and 1.16 fantasy points per minute with him off of the court this season. The price tag on Buddy Hield is going to be incredibly hard for me to get to here but the minutes should be there with Brogdon out. Oshae Brissett and Jalen Smith both looked good last time out with Goga Bitadze and Isaiah Jackson out, if they’re both out again I’ll have no issue going right back to them here.
5-star play: Trae Young, Tyrese Haliburton
4-star play: Bogdan Bogdanovic, Danilo Gallinari, Buddy Hield, Oshae Brissett
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Kevin Huerter, Clint Capela, De’Andre Hunter, Jalen Smith
Sacramento Kings @ Miami Heat
Vegas Total: 220.0
Vegas Spread: Mia -13.5
Starting with the Kings, this is really tough matchup for them against a slow and good defending Miami team, so these guys will take a decent hit here. Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox will be out again for this one meaning we should see guys like Davion Mitchell and Damian Jones again. Below is how this team operates with these two off of the court this season:
- Davion Mitchell – 24.6% usage rate; 1.00 fpm
- Damian Jones – 15.9% usage rate; 1.02 fpm
- Donte DiVincenzo – 22.7% usage rate; 0.98 fpm
- Harrison Barnes – 19.3% usage rate; 0.77 fpm
- Chimezie Metu – 21.4% usage rate; 0.95 fpm
These would be my main options from Sacramento, I don’t really have a ton of interest in guys like Justin Holiday and Jeremy Lamb who either aren’t great per minute guys or will see volatile minutes. That being said, it’s still an incredibly tough matchup, so I may be lower on guys like Mitchell who I’ve been high on as of late. The Heat get the opposite side of the coin, where they should benefit pretty heavily from a matchup with the Kings. Jimmy Butler had a rough game against the Nets last time out but was partially due to a blowout. I have no issue going back to him in a nice bounce-back spot here. The same can be said for Bam Adebayo who had a rough game but gets a nice bounce-back matchup against a poor Kings frontcourt. We haven’t gotten an injury report from Miami yet, but I would think Tyler Herro is good to go again here as he played last time out against the Nets. Then I’ll have no issue with rounding out this team with Kyle Lowry as a secondary option in all formats.
5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo
4-star play: Davion Mitchell, Damian Jones, Donte DiVincenzo, Harrison Barnes, Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry
Deeper Value: Chimezie Metu
GPP Sleeper: Chimezie Metu, Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry
I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win earlier in the season. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks
Vegas Total: 224.0
Vegas Spread: Chi -5.0
Starting with the Bulls, Zach LaVine came back down to Earth last time out but is averaging 40.7 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Knicks this season. That being said, with him being back to looking fully healthy it will be hard to determine which of him and DeMar DeRozan will have the big night on a daily basis. They’ll both look like solid secondary options here. I won’t have any issue getting back to Nikola Vucevic here either, he’s averaging 44 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Knicks this season. The price tag on Alex Caruso has come up a bit, but bounced back in a massive way last time out and will look like a fine secondary option here. From the Knicks, Julius Randle returned last time out to play 31 minutes, so I would imagine he’s not on any sort of minutes restriction going forward. He’s more of a secondary option for me than anything due to the volatility he’s shown, however. I have no issue getting back to RJ Barrett either, he’s been in great form since the All-Star break. He has nearly a 30% usage rate and 1.01 fantasy points per minute over the last four weeks. I’ll be lower on the rest of this team with Randle back in there, but guys like Alec Burks, Mitchell Robinson, and Evan Fournier are fine GPP options.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Alex Caruso, Alec Burks, Mitchell Robinson, Evan Fournier
Boston Celtics @ Toronto Raptors
Vegas Total: 218.0
Vegas Spread: Tor -3.0
Starting with the Celtics, it sounds like there’s a pretty good potential that Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams, and Al Horford will all be out tonight. Below is how this team operates with these guys off of the court this season:
- Jaylen Brown – 34.4% usage rate; 1.57 fpm
- Payton Pritchard – 24.4% usage rate; 0.96 fpm
- Grant Williams – 12.3% usage rate; 0.74 fpm
- Marcus Smart – 25.0% usage rate; 1.24 fpm
- Derrick White – 19.2% usage rate; 0.52 fpm (small sample size)
- Daniel Theis – 18.1% usage rate; 1.31 fpm (small sample size)
I would imagine we see Derrick White and Daniel Theis enter the starting lineup next to Marcus Smart, Grant Williams, and Jaylen Brown, and will all look like great options. I do like Brown quite a bit here assuming Tatum is out and will be a guy I’m really heavy on. From the Raptors, both Gary Trent Jr. and Fred VanVleet will come into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates on their status here. I’ll operate under the assumption that they’re good to go here but obviously something to monitor as we get closer to lock. Pascal Siakam has struggled in this matchup averaging just 28.5 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Celtics this season. That being said, with how shorthanded Boston will be here, their defense won’t be the same. I’ll have no issue with Scottie Barnes as well, he should continue to play big minutes as well. I don’t love the price tag on him, but if you land on him I won’t talk you off of him. OG Anunoby has returned and seen his minutes come up over his last two games, but still more of a secondary option for GPPs. He may hurt the minutes more on Precious Achiuwa than anyway, he’s a guy I’ll be lower on at his price tag.
5-star play: Jaylen Brown, Daniel Theis, Grant Williams
4-star play: Payton Pritchard, Marcus Smart, Derrick White, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes
Deeper Value: Daniel Theis, Payton Pritchard
GPP Sleeper: Payton Pritchard, Derrick White, Daniel Theis, OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, Gary Trent Jr.
San Antonio Spurs @ Houston Rockets
Vegas Total: 234.5
Vegas Spread: Sas -7.5
Starting with the Spurs, Dejounte Murray had a big bounce-back game last time out and gets an elite matchup with the Rockets here. Not to mention, he’s averaging 58.2 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Rockets this season. Keldon Johnson has also looked good in this matchup this season, but he can still be volatile which makes him more of a tournament guy for me. Jakob Poeltl is averaging 40.17 FanDuel points per game in three games against the Rockets this season and a guy I have no issue going right back to against this Rockets frontcourt. Josh Richardson has been in solid form as of late but I don’t think he’s a guy we need to get to on this slate. Then we can round the team out with Devin Vassell as a secondary filler piece if you happened to land on him. From the Rockets, Christian Wood will look like a solid option here but the minutes have been all over the place, so probably more of a tournament option than anything. I do think Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. will look like solid GPP options as well, as we continue to target guards against this Spurs team. Then we can round this team out with Alperen Sengun and Jae’Sean Tate as GPP guys in a great matchup.
5-star play: Dejounte Murray, Jakob Poeltl
4-star play: Keldon Johnson, Christian Wood, Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr.
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Alperen Sengun, Jae’Sean Tate, Devin Vassell, Josh Richardson
Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies
Vegas Total: 221.0
Vegas Spread: Mem -10.0
Starting with the Warriors, it sounds like Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Otto Porter Jr. are all expected to rest here while Steph Curry is still out, meaning we should get a good chunk of value coming from this Golden State team. Kerr can do some weird stuff with the starting lineup so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates when that gets submitted, but guys like Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, and Gary Payton are all candidates to enter the starting five. Below is how this team operates on the season with these four guys off of the court:
- Jordan Poole – 31.7% usage rate; 1.26 fpm
- Andrew Wiggins – 27.6% usage rate; 1.01 fpm
- Jonathan Kuminga – 25.9% usage rate; 0.98 fpm
- Moses Moody – 17.6% usage rate; 0.71 fpm
- Gary Payton – 11.3% usage rate; 0.84 fpm
- Kevon Looney – 12.9% usage rate; 0.96 fpm
Poole and Wiggins will stand out as the best raw options here but definitely a team we can look to for value in the mid-range with guys like Kuminga, Moody, and Looney. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant will be out for this game and Jaren Jackson comes in as questionable. I’ll operate under the assumption that Jackson is a go, but obviously, keep an eye on the news surrounding him. Below is how the rest of the team operates with him off of the court this season:
- Tyus Jones – 17.4% usage rate; 0.97 fpm
- Jaren Jackson – 30.4% usage rate; 1.29 fpm
- Desmond Bane – 24.9% usage rate; 1.16 fpm
- Dillon Brooks – 29.4% usage rate; 1.07 fpm
These four will be my favorite options from Memphis with Steven Adams being right behind them. Don’t let the price increase on Jones scare you off of him either, he’ll still look like a top option in the mid-range as he’ll continue to start with Morant out.
5-star play: Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Tyus Jones
4-star play: Moses Moody, Kevon Looney, Jaren Jackson, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks
Deeper Value: Damion Lee
GPP Sleeper: Gary Payton, De’Anthony Melton, Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total: 222.5
Vegas Spread: Okc -2.0
Starting with the Thunder, they’re going to be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander here, so we should get Theo Maledon back in the starting lineup and is a guy that’s been in great form as of late. He has at least 32 minutes in back-to-back games and at least 32 DraftKings points in each of those games. This is an elite matchup and is a guy I’ll get a bunch of on this slate. I’ll continue to go back to Aleksej Pokusevski assuming he’s still in the starting lineup. Neither of these teams is going to play a whole lot of defense, so this game should be very conducive to fantasy production. Tre Mann has been in solid form as well and has a 28.3% usage rate with 0.97 fantasy points per minute with Gilgeous-Alexander, Giddey, and Dort off of the court this season. Then we can round this team out with Isaiah Roby and Darius Bazley as solid frontcourt options in a great matchup as well. From the Blazers, they’ll be without Trendon Watford on top of the rest of their normal guys being out. We should see Greg Brown enter the starting lineup in his place and will be a guy I love here assuming he plays. The matchup sets up will for him and the rest of this team and will be a guy I like quite a bit for value. The price tag on Brandon Williams and Drew Eubanks has come up, but they’ll need to play a bunch of minutes, so no issue going right back to them here. The price hasn’t really moved on Kris Dunn, and I think could be a candidate for some extra run today, he’s a guy I like for GPPs considering all the value we’ll have on this slate. Then guys like CJ Elleby, Keon Johnson, and Ben McLemore will all receive good run as well and will be solid options here to round out the slate.
5-star play: Theo Maledon, Aleksej Pokusevski, Greg Brown
4-star play: Tre Mann, Isaiah Roby, Darius Bazley, Keon Johnson, Ben McLemore, Drew Eubanks, Brandon Williams, Kris Dunn
Deeper Value: Vit Krejci, Lindy Waters, Aaron Wiggins, Kris Dunn
GPP Sleeper: Ben McLemore, Vit Krejci, Lindy Waters, Aaron Wiggins
NBA Lock of the Day: Theo Maledon (DK – $4.5k; FD – $4.9k)
As I mentioned in the final game breakdown, the Thunder/Blazers game will be full of value and guys you’ll want to get a piece of. The Thunder will be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, so we should see Theo Maledon get the start in an elite matchup with the Blazers. He’s scored at least 32 DraftKings points in back to back games and has about 0.90 fantasy points per minute on the season with SGA off of the court. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
