Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Miami Heat @ Charlotte Hornets
Vegas Total: 228.0
Vegas Spread: Mia -3.0
We’ll kick this slate off starting with the Heat, Jimmy Butler had a down game last time out but gets a great bounce-back spot here against the Hornets. He scored 56 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and is a guy I like going back to here. The price has come up on Bam Adebayo but for good reason, he also had a big game against the Hornets earlier in the season and looks like a nice option here. Kyle Lowry returned last game to play 25 minutes, so I’ll need to hear that he won’t be limited for me to have any interest in him in this one. Tyler Herro has looked solid as of late and will look like a nice secondary option, but Lowry being back will hurt his production. Then Duncan Robinson will always be a fine GPP option if you think he knocks down his shots here. From the Hornets, they got Gordon Hayward back last night and said he would be limited but still played 29 minutes, I would think he either sits here or is a full go on the back end of a back-to-back. LaMelo Ball has been extremely volatile as of late with at least 50 fantasy points in three of his last five but under 40 in the other two games. I’ll consider him more of a GPP guy in a tougher matchup with the Heat. Miles Bridges looks like a solid secondary option in all formats but feels priced right where he should be. Terry Rozier is in a similar boat, the price feels right for the matchup and a guy I don’t have an issue with if you land on him. I’ll probably come off of Kelly Oubre Jr. a little with Hayward back, but it’s hard to argue with the production he’s shown over his past few games. Lastly, Mason Plumlee and PJ Washington look like solid MME and GPP options down low.
5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo
4-star play: Tyler Herro, LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier
Deeper Value: Duncan Robinson
GPP Sleeper: Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, Kelly Oubre Jr., Mason Plumlee, PJ Washington

Phoenix Suns @ Washington Wizards
Vegas Total: 220.0
Vegas Spread: Phx -8.0
Starting with the Suns, Chris Paul and Devin Booker have both been in great form and get an elite matchup with the Wizards in this one, they both look like awesome options tonight. I really like the matchup for Deandre Ayton but they’re easing him back into form after missing quite a bit of game action… unless we hear he’s free of any restriction I will likely fade or just get a sprinkle in MME. Cam Johnson continues to play nice minutes and is a fine secondary tournament option if you happen to land on him. The same can be said for Jae Crowder to round out the Suns. From the Wizards, they’ll continue to be without Bradley Beal here until at least the All-Star break, and will be interesting if the Wizards end up pulling the plug on a trade for him within the week before the trade deadline. Below is how this team operates with him off of the court this season:
- Spencer Dinwiddie – 25.9% usage rate; 1.14 fpm
- Montrezl Harrell – 23.4% usage rate; 1.17 fpm
- Kyle Kuzma – 26.5% usage rate; 1.16 fpm
These would be the main pieces I’m looking at from the Wizards but if you really want to narrow them down we can look right at Dinwiddie and Kuzma as the top options. Thomas Bryant returned last time out which pretty much makes this frontcourt a wasteland for the Wizards.
5-star play: Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, Chris Paul, Devin Booker
4-star play: Montrezl Harrell
Deeper Value: Jae Crowder
GPP Sleeper: Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, Montrezl Harrell, Thomas Bryant
New York Knicks @ Los Angeles Lakers
Vegas Total: 212.5
Vegas Spread: Lal -2.5
Starting with the Knicks, Julius Randle has been pretty volatile this season but I do like going to him here in a revenge game against his old team. He nearly dropped 50 fantasy points in this spot earlier in the season. RJ Barrett has been solid enough to get some exposure to here but I also don’t want to go crazy in a game with a 212 implied total. I won’t talk you off of Evan Fournier due to scoring at least 40 DraftKings points in two of his last three games but still not a guy I want to be all that high on. Mitchell Robinson had a big game last time out and a guy I like in tournaments again here, they’ll need his size to deal with Anthony Davis down low as long as he can stay out of foul trouble. Kemba Walker hasn’t been in good form so he will be strictly a tournament-only option for me if I even get to him there, fading may be the best way to go with him. Then guys like Alec Burks and Cam Reddish will be fades for me until we see some consistent minutes from them. From the Lakers, LeBron James is doubtful here so guys like Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis will see a really nice boost here. With James off of the court this season Westbrook has a 30.7% usage rate and 1.31 fantasy points per minute while Davis is at a 30.1% usage rate and 1.41 fantasy points per minute, they’ll both look great here. Malik Monk had a nice bounce-back game last time out and is a solid GPP option here, I just wish this game had a little more pace to it. Lastly, Carmelo Anthony will be out for a while so we should see more minutes for guys like Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson, but I don’t think we need to go to those kinds of guys on this slate… maybe Horton-Tucker if you want to get silly.
5-star play: Julius Randle, Anthony Davis
4-star play: RJ Barrett, Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Evan Fournier, Mitchell Robinson
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Sacramento Kings
Vegas Total: 216.5
Vegas Spread: Sac -6.5
Starting with the Thunder, they’ll be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander again tonight, below is how this team operates with him off of the court this season:
- Josh Giddey – 23.3% usage rate; 1.06 fpm
- Lu Dort – 26.7% usage rate; 0.92 fpm
- Tre Mann – 23.8% usage rate; 0.80 fpm
- Kenrich Williams – 18% usage rate; 0.83 fpm
- Darius Bazley – 18.4% usage rate; 0.88 fpm
For as much usage and production they’ll be missing with Gilgeous-Alexander out, there really isn’t a ton that I feel like I NEED to get to here. The Thunder are pretty good at spreading out that lost production, but I do think Josh Giddey is someone I’ll want here in a great matchup. That said, I have a feeling I’m going to be pretty heavy on Darius Bazley again tonight at this price tag. He’s getting big minutes and this matchup is elite. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox comes in as he comes in as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s out again since it’s been 10+ days since we’ve seen him, I wish they would just rule him out through the All-Star break, we know they’re trying to trade him so why risk putting him out there? Tyrese Haliburton has a 20.2% usage rate and 1.04 fantasy points per minute with Fox off of the court this season and would look like a solid play in a nice matchup. I’ve been all over Richaun Holmes since he’s returned from injury due to the price tag on him and the minutes have slowly increased by the game. I love the matchup for him here and a guy I’ll go right back to here even though he hasn’t necessarily looked great. Then the mid-range of this team would be more GPP-type guys than anything, but guys like Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, and Chimezie Metu are fine. Metu should see an increase in minutes if Marvin Bagley is out which leads to a higher minutes floor for Holmes as well. Davion Mitchell will look like a nice option again as well assuming Fox sits.
5-star play: Darius Bazley
4-star play: Josh Giddey, Kenrich Williams, Lu Dort, Tre Mann, Tyrese Haliburton, Richaun Holmes, Harrison Barnes, Davion Mitchell
Deeper Value: Tre Mann, Chimezie Metu
GPP Sleeper: Tre Mann, Buddy Hield, Chimezi Metu
I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win earlier in the season. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
Milwaukee Bucks @ Portland Trailblazers
Vegas Total: 228.5
Vegas Spread: Mil -10.5
Starting with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo looks like the top spend-up option on the slate coming off of a 75 point fantasy night last time out against the Wizards. Assuming you can find the value to make him work in your lineup, you’re going to want him in an elite spot here. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday both look like fine options here but have their ceilings capped when Giannis is out there, if I were to pick one it would be Holiday due to the fact that he racks up more blocks and steals that can help get you there. Bobby Portis has struggled as of late but the minutes are still there for him making him a nice secondary option here. I do like the price tag on Grayson Allen if you need someone in the lower to mid-range. Then we can round this team out with Pat Connaughton and Donte DiVincenzo has GPP options. From the Blazers, they traded Norman Powell on Friday which will open up a bunch of minutes on the wing for this team until Eric Bledsoe arrives. We saw CJ Elleby and Tony Snell get the start last night for the Blazers and actually played relatively well, they would look like fine min priced value options… as hard as it is to put Tony Snell in your lineup. CJ McCollum will continue to be a guy that I have no problem going to, he’s going to play big minutes and run this offense along with Anfernee Simons who looks like a nice option again. Then Jusuf Nurkic will have his hands full with Giannis in the paint here but they’ll need his size so the minutes feel pretty locked in for him.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo
4-star play: Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, Grayson Allen, CJ McCollum, Anfernee Simons, Jusuf Nurkic
Deeper Value: Donte DiVincenzo, Pat Connaughton, CJ Elleby, Tony Snell
GPP Sleeper: Pat Connaughton, Donte DiVincenzo, Robert Covington, CJ Elleby, Tony Snell

NBA Lock of the Day: Darius Bazley (DK – $4.3k; FD – $5.1k)
I had Darius Bazley as a core play last night and will go right back to the well on him tonight against the Kings. The price tag just feels too good with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl off of the court again. He has at least 32 minutes in three of his last four games and gets an elite matchup here. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
