Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Miami Heat @ Charlotte Hornets
Vegas Total: 225.5
Vegas Spread: Mia -4.5
We’ll kick this slate off starting with the Heat, as Tyler Herro has been ruled out with Jimmy Butler coming in as questionable. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates on him, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s a go for tonight. Butler is averaging 48.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Hornets this season and looks like a nice option, the Hornets are a great matchup for DFS production. Speaking of performing well against the Hornets, Bam Adebayo is averaging 50+ against them this season as well. The Hornets frontcourt isn’t one that scares me even with Montrezl Harrell on the team. The minutes on Kyle Lowry are back up to being over 35 and with Herro out, he has an 18.6% usage rate and 1.01 fantasy points per minute, he’ll be a guy I like quite a bit at this price tag. Then Gabe Vincent and Max Strus make sense as GPP options, they should see some extra minutes with Herro out. From the Hornets, LaMelo Ball is a solid option but I can’t say I love the matchup. This Heat team is really good defensively and that’s shown as Ball has struggled in this matchup a couple of times already this season. He would be a tournament-only option for me. Terry Rozier is in incredible form with at least 66 DraftKings points in two of his last three games, but the same can be said about him as Ball. The matchup is tough and he’s struggled in this spot, not to mention the price tag is way up on him. Miles Bridges is a solid option in his price range, but not a guy that I’m necessarily prioritizing. I do think Kelly Oubre is an interesting GPP option with Gordon Hayward still out, but would be another GPP-only type play. I do like Montrezl Harrell quite a bit, he’s played at least 29 minutes in back-to-back games since joining the Hornets and minutes are always the biggest issue with him. If the minutes will be there, and they look like they will be, this is a really nice price tag for him. Then we can round the team out with Mason Plumlee and PJ Washington as GPP options on a shorter slate.
5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Montrezl Harrell
4-star play: Kyle Lowry, LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Kelly Oubre, Mason Plumlee, PJ Washington

Washington Wizards @ Brooklyn Nets
Vegas Total: 216.0
Vegas Spread: Bkn -4.5
Starting with the Wizards, Kristaps Porzingis won’t be available again here, and with Spencer Dinwiddie now off of the team and Bradley Beal out, there will be a lot of usage to go around. We’ll start with Kyle Kuzma who was a guy that I was pretty heavy on last night and has a 27.8% usage rate with 1.18 fantasy points per minute with Beal, Harrell, and Dinwiddie off of the court. This is a great matchup and a guy I like even at an elevated price tag. Raul Neto should continue to start and is a fine option, he’s never really a sexy play, but he’ll be around 30 minutes again in a nice spot. I would think Thomas Bryant continues to see around 20 minutes again here but would think those start to go up sooner rather than later with Montrezl Harrell traded as well, he got up to 24 minutes last time out, so we’re getting there. Corey Kispert will continue to play big minutes but can be a little scoring dependent, that said, with Beal and Dinwiddie out of town they’ll need his shooting. Speaking of shooting, we saw Kentavios Caldwell-Pope have a big game last night and will be a guy they’ll need until they get healthier and looks like a solid GPP option at the very least. I wish the Wizards would start Ish Smith over Neto, but think Smith could be interesting to get a sprinkle of if you’re mass entering. From the Nets, they’re going to be a mess at home going forward with Kevin Durant out, Kyrie Irving unable to play in New York, James Harden traded, and who knows when Ben Simmons will be available. Seth Curry has been a guy I’ve been really high on since he joined the team two games ago and has looked great so far. He’ll have a chance to run the offense again tonight in a great matchup with the Wizards and the price tag really hasn’t moved. Andre Drummond will continue to start but will likely be around 20-25 minutes, which clearly is enough to get his production there. He’s an elite per-minute guy and can easily double-double in that amount of time with upside if his minutes do go up. Patty Mills has not been good as of late being held under 20 fantasy points in five straight games. He has a 26.4% usage rate and 0.93 fantasy points per minute with these three off of the court this season, so if you want to make a case for tournaments I would be okay with that. Bruce Brown will continue to be a guy I like for GPPs at this price tag in a great matchup, the minutes should be there again for him. Cam Thomas is in that Curry price range but has been producing really nicely as of late and a nice option again, however, give me Curry at the cheaper price tag. Then we can round the team out with LaMarcus Aldridge as a nice secondary option, he has a 30% usage rate with these three Nets guys off of the court.
5-star play: Kyle Kuzma, Seth Curry
4-star play: Raul Neto, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Andre Drummond, Cam Thomas, Bruce Brown, LaMarcus Aldridge
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Corey Kispert, Ish Smith, Patty Mills, LaMarcus Aldridge
Dallas Mavericks @ New Orleans Pelicans
Vegas Total: 214.5
Vegas Spread: Dal -3.0
Starting with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic came down to Earth a bit last time out but that will happen against the Heat. This is a really nice bounce-back spot for him and has been in great form, he looks like one of the better spend-up options on the slate. Jalen Brunson has been solid and will continue to play nice minutes, with Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway off of the court this season he has a 23.9% usage rate and 0.95 fantasy points per minute. Spencer Dinwiddie made his Mavs debut last time out and didn’t exactly look great, I’m not super high on him as he comes over from Washington, but he probably takes over that Hardaway role while he’s out. Reggie Bullock comes in as questionable which is fairly big news due to the number of minutes he’s soaked up as of late, if he’s out, look for more minutes out of guys like Dinwiddie, Maxi Kleber, and Josh Green. From the Pelicans, CJ McCollum has looked great with his new team but the price has definitely come up a bit, but for good reason. McCollum has a 29.7% usage rate and 1.3 fantasy points per minute with the Pelicans in his first three games, I’ll have no issue going right back to him here. Brandon Ingram will be a tournament-only guy for me due to the volatility he’s shown as of late, but I do like the matchup. Jonas Valanciunas is a fine option as well, he’s averaged 30 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Mavs this season which feels low, but with Kristaps out of town, the matchup becomes even better. We haven’t seen that big ceiling game from him in a while, but we know he has it somewhere. Herbert Jones will continue to play around 30 minutes per game and has been solid as of late, I have no issue with him if you happened to fall on him with your roster construction. Then guys like Jaxson Hayes and Devonte’ Graham will round out this team as tournament options as well.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, CJ McCollum
4-star play: Jalen Brunson, Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Herbert Jones
Deeper Value: Josh Green, Maxi Kleber
GPP Sleeper: Reggie Bullock, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Jaxson Hayes, Devonte’ Graham
Philadelphia 76ers @ Milwaukee Bucks
Vegas Total: 224.0
Vegas Spread: Mil -6.5
Starting with the Sixers, they were absolutely spanked by the Celtics last time out and will look to bounce back here. James Harden will be out through the All-Star break, so we can move on to the rest of the team. Joel Embiid has been in great form as of late and generally performs pretty well against the Bucks. He looks like a great spend-up option on this slate and has a 42.2% usage rate and 1.79 fantasy points per minute with Seth Curry off of the court this season. Tobias Harris is never a sexy option for me, but a guy that I’m fine with if you land on him here against his old team. Tyrese Maxey will continue to play big minutes but will need to deal with Jrue Holiday on the other end, so more of a secondary option for me. Then the rest of this team would be more of tournament options than anything, but I do like the pace in this game. From Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo had another big game last time out and much like Embiid, normally produces well against the Sixers. In seven games against the Sixers since the 2020 season, Giannis is averaging over 60 DraftKings points per game, he’s an elite option again here. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday will be more of secondary type plays with their upside capped a bit as long as Giannis is in there, but no issues with either of them if you land on them in your construction. Bobby Portis performed nicely in this spot earlier this season as well and looks like a solid option in all formats. We saw Serge Ibaka go back to the bench with Giannis back in the lineup last time out, he should be around 20-25 minutes again here and would be a secondary GPP option. Lastly, with Grayson Allen out, the Bucks will be pretty shorthanded with their bench unit… guys like Jordan Nwora and Lindell Wigginton will need to play bigger minutes and are in play as value options.
5-star play: Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo
4-star play: Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Bobby Portis
Deeper Value: Jordan Nwora, Lindell Wigginton
GPP Sleeper: Shake Milton, Matisse Thybulle, Serge Ibaka, Jordan Nwora, Lindell Wigginton
I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win earlier in the season. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Clippers
Vegas Total: 228.5
Vegas Spread: Lac -11.0
Starting with the Rockets, we will need some news from this team as Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. both missed their game last night and will come into this one as questionable. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed regarding their statuses, but I’ll operate under the assumption that they both play and look like solid GPP options again. Dennis Schroder had a nice night filling in for them last night, I would imagine he slides back to the bench, but if he starts again he would look like a nice option at this price tag. Jae’Sean Tate isn’t a sexy option as usual, but if you land on him I don’t have a problem with using him as a filler. Then guys like Jalen Green and Eric Gordon would round this team out for me as GPP guys. I wouldn’t have an issue going back to Alperen Sengun either no matter the status of Wood but would look like an elite option if Wood sits. From the Clippers, they lost Norman Powell last time out and traded Serge Ibaka to the Bucks, so they’ll be down a few bodies while acquiring Rodney Hood which is pretty blah for me. The main pieces you’ll want from this team are Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris for me. Both have looked pretty good as of late, Jackson in particular should handle most of the ball-handling duties with Bledsoe out of town and Powell out. Look for Terance Mann and Amir Coffey to soak up those Powell minutes and look like fine tournament options here as well in what should be a pretty high-scoring game. Ibaka being out of town should secure the minutes a bit more of Ivica Zubac and looks like a solid GPP option, he has at least 30 minutes in two of his last three games and gets a great matchup against this Rockets frontcourt here. Then we can round this team out with Nic Batum and Robert Covington as secondary GPP options.
5-star play: None
4-star play: Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr., Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroder, Jae’Sean Tate, Jalen Green, Eric Gordon, Alperen Sengun, Amir Coffee, Terance Mann, Nic Batum, Robert Covington

NBA Lock of the Day: Seth Curry (DK – $5.5k; FD – $6.0k)
I’m going right back to the well on Seth Curry here, for some reason his price tag really hasn’t moved. Since joining the Nets he has a 23.6% usage rate and 1.10 fantasy points per minute and gets a great matchup with the Wizards tonight. I would expect his shooting to regress a bit, but the spot looks too good for the price tag on him right now. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
