Planning For Success Life/DFS

I am fortunate to have married into an amazing family with my wife and two girls. Unfortunately, in my first year of marriage, I was spending too much time on my wants, my desires, and my varsity football coaching career. These mistakes of mine caused pain and stress for my family. They deserved better from me! Fun Fact: I had never ever been organized, in fact my classic line was “This is who I am”.

What Changed?

I stopped thinking about myself and started thinking about the people I love! If you are only thinking about you, it is not enough to improve on a patterned behavior. Think about others!

For example, I realized the more organized I was, the more time I could give to my wife and kids, while still making time for myself and I started working on it in order to give more to my family!

Daily Calendar & Fantasy

It is not a complicated process to start your day and make bullets of the things you want to accomplish, therefore I am not going to bore you with a “strategies” article. However, I am going to provide you with perspective on why it is important to plan daily:

• Life is busy! That speaks for itself, we all know that, but consider the things you cut daily to get your fantasy in. How will better planning prevent you from sacrificing what really matters for fantasy. In contrast,  you may be busy giving your everything to everyone and you make no time for yourself. So, guess what? You are probably pretty frustrated.
• Easier to keep Track of Data. Data matters in DFS!  Furthermore, organization will help you maintain and review your data collected effectively. Therefore, improving organization gives you an edge over the majority of the field that may have not this deep into improving their craft.
  • You are limiting your ceiling as a player by not being able to easily access previous notes, backtests, data and other important items to DFS easily and quickly.

Using backtests with PGA from the week before is going to align me in a better position to take #1 this week. Want to learn about backtesting? Come join the team!!

I hit you all with 2  important reasons why you should get disturbed and ensure you are organized daily, therefore I will not hold you any longer.  If you want to dive further into this concept, please see my favorite planner I have provided you with below. Be on the lookout for my upcoming article series that will walk players through how to improve organization and their DFS game.
