Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Phoenix Suns @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 214.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -3.5

We’ll kick this short slate off with the Suns, they’ll be without Deandre Ayton again here which will open up the door for JaVale McGee to get the start in a great matchup. I like targeting big men against this Mavs frontcourt and McGee has a 23.5% usage rate and 1.32 fantasy points per minute with Ayton off of the court this season. Devin Booker is coming off of one of the best games he’s had this season dropping 71 DraftKings points, I have no issue going right back to the well in hopes he has a heater starting. Chris Paul is probably more of your cash game option, but I’m still okay going to him in all formats as well. Then we can round out the Suns with Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder as “last piece in” type plays on a shorter slate. From the Mavs, I didn’t love the matchup for Luka Doncic last night but now has at least 67 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and is one of the better spend-up options on the slate. Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t been in the best form since returning from Covid but is averaging 48.5 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Suns and gets a boost with Ayton out in the middle of the lane. Jalen Brunson is pretty much outpriced with Luka and Kristaps back, but if you really want to get different I guess I don’t hate a sprinkle of him if you’re MME’ing. Then the trio of Tim Hardaway, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Maxi Kleber are all fine GPP options, but not guys that I’ll be forcing in by any means.

5-star play: JaVale McGee, Devin Booker, Luka Doncic

4-star play: Chris Paul, Mikal Bridges, Kristaps Porzingis

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jae Crowder, Cameron Payne, Tim Hardaway, Dorian Finney-Smith, Maxi Kleber

New Orleans Pelicans @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 210.5

Vegas Spread: Nyk -3.5

Starting with the Pelicans, Devonte’ Graham comes into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status. I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s good to go here and looks like a decent option due to the minutes consistency on him, and the production has picked up a bit as well. We’ve seen the consistency fall off on Brandon Ingram a bit but on a short slate, he’ll be firmly in play again here. I love taking shots on Jonas Valanciunas on a short slate because he has legit 70 point upside, he scored 51 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season. Josh Hart continues to get it done no matter the price tag, I’ll like him in all formats again here, he’s just so damn consistent. Then guys like Herbert Jones and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are solid GPP options. From the Knicks, Kemba Walker returned to the starting lineup last time out and played 30 minutes, assuming he continues to start he should play big minutes as the Knicks try to unload him before the trade deadline on Feb. 10th. Julius Randle finally had a nice bounce-back game last time out and gets a nice matchup again here, he’ll be one of the better spend-up options here. RJ Barrett and Alec Burks will take a bit of a hit with Kemba back, particularly Burks who saw just 17 minutes and went 0-3 from the field. I will be off of him until the price comes down or Kemba is out of the rotation. I’ve been riding this Mitchell Robinson heater and I’ll go back to the well on him again here. He was a core play for me last time out and got into really quick foul trouble which is why he only saw 20 minutes, short slate, and big upside, I like it. Then we can round this game out with Evan Fournier and Immanuel Quickley, Fournier is good for a big game here and there and had a big one last time out.

5-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Julius Randle

4-star play: Devonte’ Graham, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Kemba Walker, RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson

Deeper Value: Nickeil Alexander-Walker

GPP Sleeper: Herbert Jones, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Alec Burks, Evan Fournier, Immanuel Quickley

Indiana Pacers @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 215.5

Vegas Spread: GSW -12.0

Starting with the Pacers, I wouldn’t expect Domantas Sabonis to play tonight as he suffered a “pretty significant” ankle injury according to the Pacers. With Sabonis and Myles Turner both out, I would expect to see Torrey Craig and Goga Bitadze to start. Craig had a big night last night going for 28 fantasy points in 31 minutes and will look like a solid value option here. Bitadze got the start last night but only played four minutes, I would probably have more interest in Oshae Brissett off of the bench, he’s been the much better per-minute producer on the season. Below is how the rest of this team operates with Turner and Sabonis off of the court this season:

  • Malcolm Brogdon – 24.7% usage rate; 1.03 fpm (small sample)
  • Caris LeVert – 36% usage rate; 0.98 fpm (small sample)
  • Oshae Brissett – 20.5% usage rate; 0.90 fpm
  • Jeremy Lamb – 21.2% usage rate; 1.46 fpm

These would be my favorite options from the Pacers, Brogdon returned last night to play 26 minutes so I would expect he gets over 30 again here, or the rest him on a back to back which is a possibility. From the Warriors, Steph Curry returned last time out and played 29 minutes but again was the victim of a blowout. We may see the same again here, but I have no issue going back to him, he has the ability to get you there in three quarters. We should see Jordan Poole go back to the bench with Klay Thompson also back. Thompson got his minutes up to 22/23 range last time out, so I would expect he’s around the 25 range again here and looks like a really solid mid-range option and a guy I was pretty high on last time out. Andrew Wiggins and Poole will be more of GPP options with these two back in the lineup, I will likely have much more exposure to Wiggins due to the minutes. Otto Porter Jr. and Draymond Green will both be out here so we should expect to see Jonathan Kuminga back in the starting lineup and has been in great form, he’s a guy I’ll go right back to the well on. Kevon Looney is a solid option to round out the slate with as well in a nice matchup.

5-star play: Steph Curry

4-star play: Torrey Craig, Oshae Brissett, Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Kevon Looney

Deeper Value: Torrey Craig, Goga Bitadze, Oshae Brissett, Jeremy Lamb

GPP Sleeper: Torrey Craig, Goga Bitadze, Oshae Brissett, Jeremy Lamb, Jordan Poole, Kevon Looney

I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win earlier in the season. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
