Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Orlando Magic @ Washington Wizards
Vegas Total: 217.5
Vegas Spread: Was -7.5
We’ll get this slate started out with the Magic, the frontcourt is a bit of a question mark right now as Wendell Carter Jr. and Mo Bamba come in as questionable so we’ll need some news on them. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates, but I’ll operate under the assumption that they’re good to go here. I really like this price tag on Cole Anthony, we’re used to seeing him in the mid-$8k range and now he’s in the mid-$7k’s, he can blow this price tag out of the water and has his minutes above 35 in back to back games. We’ve seen Terrence Ross get more consistent run as well over the last 9ish games, he’s firmly in play as a tournament guy. Then we can round this team out with Franz Wagner as a solid secondary option given his consistency this season. From the Wizards, I would anticipate Bradley Beal being out again here as he went back on the Covid list yesterday meaning we can go right back to the well on Spencer Dinwiddie who will not rest on the back end of this back to back. His price didn’t budge on either site after coming off of a big night last night and has a 26.1% usage rate and 1.18 fantasy points per minute with Beal off of the court this season. Kyle Kuzma kept it rolling last night as well and is playing a ton of minutes right now. He also sees a nice bump with Beal off of the court with a 26.2% usage rate and 1.12 fantasy points per minute on the season. Montrezl Harrell returned last night and played 24 minutes, so he slid right back into his usual role and looks like a fine option again here. Harrell being back will hurt the consistent production that Daniel Gafford has seen over the past couple of weeks making him more of a tournament option. Then we can round this team out with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as a GPP option as well.
5-star play: Cole Anthony, Spencer Dinwiddie
4-star play: Wendell Carter Jr., Terrence Ross, Franz Wagner, Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Mo Bamba, Montrezl Harrell, Daniel Gafford, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Boston Celtics @ Indiana Pacers
Vegas Total: 210.5
Vegas Spread: Bos -3.5
We saw this matchup a few days ago when these two teams last played so we have a little something to go off of here. Starting with the Pacers, Caris LeVert and Malcolm Brogdon both come in as questionable here, I’ll operate under the assumption that both of these guys are out again since they’ve been out for quite a bit, but obviously, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. Domantas Sabonis continues to look good with these guys out and has at least 57 DraftKings points in five of his last six games and a guy I like quite a bit here. We should continue to get Keifer Sykes starting at point guard assuming Brogdon is out again and would be a guy I have no problem going back to. He has a 16.7% usage rate and 0.76 fantasy points per minute over the past two weeks and looks like a solid mid-range option. I can’t seem to get Myles Turner right this season but will continue to be a tournament guy as we know the volatility that comes along with him. Then Chris Duarte ended up missing the last game after returning for a game. He was out for personal reasons, so I would expect he returns here but something to monitor. The last guy we have to mention from the Pacers is Lance Stephenson, he signed a second 10-day contract to stay with the Pacers for a bit longer and is playing consistent minutes with these guys being out in the backcourt and on the wing. From Boston, Jayson Tatum had a rough go of it in the matchup last time out but I do like the spot, the Pacers have not been good defensively and the price has come down. Jaylen Brown continues to look great and has at least 58 DraftKings points in back-to-back games, I have no issue going right back to the well on him here. The price feels high on Robert Williams but he keeps paying it off and the minutes have been more consistent for him with at least 32 minutes in five straight games. Al Horford has been the more volatile piece as of late and would be more of a secondary guy for me again here. Then we can round the Celtics out with Dennis Schroder who should get a decent boost with Marcus Smart coming in as doubtful.
***Assuming Caris LeVert and Malcolm Brogdon are OUT***
5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown
4-star play: Keifer Sykes, Myles Turner, Robert Williams, Dennis Schroder
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Keifer Sykes, Myles Turner, Chris Duarte, Lance Stephenson, Al Horford
Charlotte Hornets @ Philadelphia 76ers
Vegas Total: 226.5
Vegas Spread: Phi -5.5
Starting with the Hornets, LaMelo Ball hasn’t been in the greatest of form but has seen his price fall below $9k on DraftKings and is at $8k on FanDuel. He has the upside to blow this price tag out of the water but the consistency hasn’t been there causing for the discount, I like him in all formats again, but probably more of a tournament guy. Miles Bridges kept it rolling again last game and is probably priced about right, I wouldn’t have any issue with him as a secondary piece. I told you Terry Rozier is a Bucks killer… he has at least 43 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is a guy I have no problem going right back to here. Gordon Hayward would be more of a tournament guy for me due to the volatility he can show, but I wouldn’t talk you off of him for going there in cash either. Then we can round the Hornets out with PJ Washington and Mason Plumlee as GPP options, they’ll need their size against Embiid down low in this one. From the Sixers, they should get Tyrese Maxey back here and has a nice price tag assuming he’s not limited at all, it’s a great matchup as well. Seth Curry comes into this one as questionable and has been in good form as of late, if he’s good to go he would look like a nice GPP option should you land on him. Joel Embiid is averaging 62.4 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Hornets this season and looks like a great spend-up option again in this one, they won’t have an answer for his size. I don’t have any issue getting to Tobias Harris here but I think we can do better in this price range on a decently sized slate tonight.
5-star play: LaMelo Ball, Joel Embiid
4-star play: Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Gordon Hayward, PJ Washington, Mason Plumlee, Seth Curry
Miami Heat @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 223.5
Vegas Spread: Atl -2.0
Starting with the Heat, they’ll be without Jimmy Butler as well as Bam Adebayo again here but sounds like Dewayne Dedmon could make his return. Dedmon returning would hurt Omer Yurtseven the most and honestly just wish they would move him to the bench with how well Yurtseven is producing from a DFS perspective, but keep an eye on that news. Below is how this team operates with Jimmy Butler and Bam off of the court this season:
- Tyler Herro – 31.9% usage rate; 1.11 fpm
- Kyle Lowry – 22.1% usage rate; 1.08 fpm
- Omer Yurtseven – 20% usage rate; 1.14 fpm
- Gabe Vincent – 19.9% usage rate; 0.79 fpm
These would be my favorite options on this team assuming Dedmon is out again. I love the matchup for these backcourt guys as well due to the lack of defense that the Hawks are playing, so Herro and Lowry are guys I’ll like quite a bit. Speaking of the Hawks, Clint Capela comes in as doubtful here meaning we should see Onyeka Okongwu get the start again, and looks like a nice value option in all formats. He played 38 minutes last time out but the Hawks will get Gorgui Dieng back here who will take some of those minutes and would be a solid flyer option as well, but Okongwu would be the guy I want here. Trae Young is a fine option but I think we can do better in the spend-up range, but there’s no arguing with his upside. John Collins had a tough game last time out but no issue going back to the well with him at this price tag. Then guys like Kevin Huerter and Bogdan Bogdanovic look like solid tournament options as well.
5-star play: Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, Onyeka Okongwu
4-star play: Omer Yurtseven, Trae Young, John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic
Deeper Value: Onyeka Okongwu, Gorgui Dieng
GPP Sleeper: Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson, Gorgui Dieng, Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic
I wanted to give a quick shoutout to VIP member “GhostfaceKillaa” on his $30k win earlier in the season. A pivot to Curry off the chalky Doncic was the key for him, congrats man!
Dallas Mavericks @ New York Knicks
Vegas Total: 206.0
Vegas Spread: Dal -3.5
Starting with the Mavericks, they’ll be without Kristaps Porzigins again here meaning we should see a healthy dose of Maxi Kleber in the frontcourt. He’s been in great form and makes sense as a mid-range option. Luka Doncic has been in good form as well with at least 62 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. I don’t love this game in terms of pace, but still think he looks like a solid spend-up option. Jalen Brunson is priced out specifically on DraftKings, but think he’s playable on FanDuel yet in the $5k range. Then guys like Tim Hardaway Jr. and Dorian Finney-Smith are fine secondary options but not priorities by any means… revenge spot of Hardaway though! From the Knicks, Kemba Walker comes into this one as questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates on him, but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s out again here. Julius Randle has been all over the place as of late and is coming off of a pretty bad game last time out, I do like targeting big men against this Dallas frontcourt especially with Kristaps out, however. RJ Barrett has looked pretty solid over his last handful of games and will benefit from Kemba being out should he sit again. Alec Burks has at least 34 minutes in three of his last four games but is similar to Barrett, I would want Kemba out again to make Burks viable. Then guys like Mitchell Robinson and Immanuel Quickley are fine MME-type plays but probably wouldn’t get a whole lot of them.
5-star play: Luka Doncic
4-star play: Maxi Kleber, Dorian Finney-Smith, Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Brunson (FanDuel), Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Alec Burks
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson, Immanuel Quickley
Houston Rockets @ San Antonio Spurs
Vegas Total: 232.5
Vegas Spread: Sas -5.5
Starting with the Rockets, Christian Wood came down a bit last game against Embiid and company but still played 36 minutes and I love the price tag on him here, he looks like a great option. The price tag will continue to look good on Kevin Porter Jr. as well, he’s been a bit more volatile so probably more of a tournament option on him as well, you never know when he’ll just randomly quit or get ejected. Jae’Sean Tate is never a sexy option, but fine nonetheless if you happen to land on him. Then guys like Jalen Green and Eric Gordon are fine MME-type players if you want to get some exposure. From the Spurs, they’ll be without Derrick White, Keldon Johnson, and Devin Vassell again here. Dejounte Murray has found some consistency since he’s returned with a 50 burger in three of his last four games and will look like a good option again here in a great matchup against a poor defense. Lonnie Walker was a guy I had a bunch of last time he was on the slate and someone I have no issue going back to, his minutes become very secure with these guys out for the Spurs. Jakob Poeltl is a guy I like a ton as well due to the matchup, people always wonder why teams gave up on Wood and it’s due to the poor defense he plays… and poor is putting it nicely. Then guys like Bryn Forbes, Keita Bates-Diop, and Josh Primo look like fine GPP value options if you happen to land on them again.
5-star play: Christian Wood, Dejounte Murray, Jakob Poeltl
4-star play: Kevin Porter Jr., Jae’Sean Tate, Lonnie Walker
Deeper Value: Bryn Forbes, Keita Bates-Diop
GPP Sleeper: Kevin Porter Jr., Eric Gordon, Jalen Green, Bryn Forbes, Keita Bates-Diop, Josh Primo
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Utah Jazz
Vegas Total: 221.5
Vegas Spread: Utah -6.5
Starting with the Cavs, Darius Garland had a big game against the Jazz earlier this season going for 54 DraftKings points. The price tag finally came down a bit on him as well, I have no issue going back to him here. Jarrett Allen had a solid game in this matchup as well and gets a nice boost with Gobert out on the other end. Evan Mobley has been a pretty consistent mid-30’s producer as of late and looks like a solid option at this price tag as well in a great matchup. The consistent minutes on Kevin Love has seemed to fall off as of late making him more of a tournament-only option for me. Then we can round this team out with Lauri Markkanen as a tournament option as well. I also don’t hate taking a flyer on Rajon Rondo if we end up being short on value on this slate. From the Jazz, they’ll continue to be without Rudy Gobert and Rudy Gay while Joe Ingles will come in as questionable. With Gobert out, I would expect we get Hassan Whiteside starting again, and is coming off of a monster game last time out. With Gobert off of the court this season, Whiteside has an 18.7% usage rate and 1.22 fantasy points per minute. I’ll go right back to the well with him tonight. The matchup is fine for Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley as well, neither are priorities for me, but secondary plays nonetheless. Then we can label Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, and Royce O’Neale as more GPP-type players.
5-star play: Hassan Whiteside
4-star play: Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic
Deeper Value: Royce O’Neale, Rajon Rondo
GPP Sleeper: Kevin Love, Lauri Markkanen, Rajon Rondo, Jordan Clarkson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Royce O’Neale

Brooklyn Nets @ Chicago Bulls
Vegas Total: 228.5
Vegas Spread: Chi -1.5
Starting with the Nets, it will be pretty hard to break down this team with both James Harden and Kyrie Irving coming in as questionable, so I’ll leave this full breakdown to our Breaking News Feed. One thing I will say is if one or both of these guys miss, Kevin Durant will look like an elite option and the one who is playing between the two would as well… but news we obviously need here. From the Bulls, both Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan look like fine options here but I think we’re back to the days where LaVine and DeRozan are more of tournament guys where it will be hard to predict who has the big game on a daily basis. I don’t have an issue going back to Nikola Vucevic however in a nice matchup with the Nets and has been in good form as of late. Lonzo Ball has been in good form as well and a nice GPP option at the very least. Then the rest of this team would be more of MME-type players for me.
5-star play: BKN TBD
4-star play: BKN TBD, Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: BKN TBD, Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine
Los Angeles Lakers @ Sacramento Kings
Vegas Total: 230.5
Vegas Spread: Lal -3.0
Starting with the Lakers, LeBron James will continue to look like a great option here and is averaging 51 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Kings this season. He also has a 31.9% usage rate and 1.57 fantasy points per minute with Anthony Davis off of the court this season. Russell Westbrook would be more of a GPP guy due to the volatility but we know the upside is there with him and averaging 46.5 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Kings this season. Malik Monk will continue to be the third option on this team and is playing nice minutes if you want to go to him in tournaments. Then the rest of this team would be flyers at best. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox has been held under 30 fantasy points in back-to-back games but has done well against the Lakers this season, I have no problem with him as a GPP option. Tyrese Haliburton had a solid game last time out and we know the minutes will be there for him, he’s a good secondary option should you land in his price range. Richaun Holmes will be out again here as he comes back from the Covid list so we should see Alex Len get the start again and Marvin Bagley should stand to benefit as well against a bigger Lakers team. Then we can round this Kings team out with Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes in tournaments.
5-star play: LeBron James
4-star play: Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton
Deeper Value: Alex Len
GPP Sleeper: Malik Monk, Russell Westbrook, De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Alex Len, Marvin Bagley
NBA Lock of the Day: Spencer Dinwiddie (DK – $6.0k; FD – $7.1k)
I’m going right back to the well on Spencer Dinwiddie assuming Bradley Beal is out again tonight. The sites didn’t get the chance to increase his price tag since Beal entered the Covid list yesterday and we saw Dinwiddie have a great game. He has a 26.1% usage rate and 1.18 fantasy points per minute with Beal off of the court this season and gets a great matchup with the Magic.
