Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!
Charlotte Hornets @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 220.0
Vegas Spread: Atl -7.0
We’ll get this slate started with the Hornets, they’ll be without LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, and Mason Plumlee today which will open up a ton of minutes and usage on this Hornets team. We really don’t have a sample size with Ball and Rozier off the court this season but I would anticipate we see Ish Smith and Kelly Oubre Jr. move into the starting lineup and see a ton of minutes. If we go back to last season we see Miles Bridges and Gordon Hayward see an increase in usage, but obviously, the team has changed a bit since then. Oubre Jr. has already been playing great basketball, he has at least 31 DraftKings points in four straight games and this team is going to be one that I’m pretty high on in this slate. Come check out our Coaches Notes/Cheat Sheets for who ends up making my core plays from this team! From the Hawks, we’re really going to need some news from this team before we can firmly break them down. Bogdan Bogdanovic has already been ruled out but Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, and Cam Reddish all come in as questionable which really changes the landscape of this team. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed as we get closer to lock, but this news could completely change today’s slate. The two or three solid pieces we know of are Clint Capela, John Collins, and potentially Danilo Gallinari. I say potentially on Gallinari because of his price boost and really is only a guy I’ll like if either Huerter or Reddish gets ruled out, but he looked great in 28 minutes of run last time out.
5-star play: Ish Smith, Kelly Oubre Jr., Miles Bridges, Gordon Hayward, ATL TBD
4-star play: PJ Washington, ATL TBD
Deeper Value: ATL TBD, James Bouknight
GPP Sleeper: James Bouknight, ATL TBD

Washington Wizards @ Toronto Raptors
Vegas Total: 212.0
Vegas Spread: Tor -1.0
Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal hasn’t been in great form as of late and we’re not seeing the usage from him like we saw last season. I don’t exactly love this matchup either against the Raptors. I’ll leave him for GPPs at this price point. Spencer Dinwiddie came crashing down to Earth last time out with just 12 fantasy points, the price tag has come down on him, however, and is a guy you can get to here. Montrezl Harrell is another guy that saw his price come down a small amount, but the minutes won’t be all that high on him which is why he’s not a higher price. We know he’s a nice point-per-minute guy but when he’s only getting 20-25 minutes it’s hard for him to have a real ceiling. Then the only other viable options for me on this team are Kyle Kuzma and Daniel Gafford as secondary GPP options. Gafford is intriguing to me even in a nice matchup against a Raptors frontcourt that doesn’t exactly scare me. He has at least 31 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. From the Raptors, the price tag has climbed over $9k on Fred VanVleet on DraftKings, so I would probably look to get my VanVleet exposure on FanDuel where he’s still under $8k. Pascal Siakam feels outpriced on DraftKings as well at $8.7k and hasn’t exactly been in great form relative to that tag. He’s another guy I would rather get to on FanDuel where the price tag is cheaper. It just seems like DraftKings got a little carried away with the Raptors pricing, as Scottie Barnes is at $8k as well, but the price differential on FanDuel for him isn’t quite as big as Siakam and VanVleet. I have no issue going right back to Precious Achiuwa here either with OG Anunoby and Khem Birch still out, he’s going to play a ton of minutes against a pretty average frontcourt. Then you can round this team out with Gary Trent Jr. as a solid secondary option in all formats.
5-star play: Fred VanVleet (FanDuel), Pascal Siakam (FanDuel)
4-star play: Bradley Beal, Spencer Dinwiddie, Daniel Gafford, Fred VanVleet (DraftKings), Pascal Siakam (DraftKings), Scottie Barnes, Precious Achiuwa
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma, Gary Trent Jr.
New Orleans Pelicans @ Houston Rockets
Vegas Total: 220.5
Vegas Spread: Nop -3.0
Starting with the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram finally had a big night last time out going for 57 DraftKings points, but it also came with a big price bump on DraftKings which seems to be a trend today. I would prefer to get to him on FanDuel, but the matchup is nice where you can get him on DraftKings on a short slate. Jonas Valanciunas has been pretty volatile as of late and we’re not seeing the consistent 30+ minutes as we saw earlier in the season. That said, he should be able to do whatever he wants down low in this matchup. Devonte’ Graham will be a guy I go back to as well, he’s not a $4.8k player like his DraftKings price indicates and he has 30 minutes in three straight games. Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a fine tournament play given his upside, but not someone I would touch in cash games. I’ll have some interest in Josh Hart as well, but his volatility will keep him as strictly a tournament guy coming off a big game last time out, keep an eye on his status as well, he comes into this one as questionable. From the Rockets, Kevin Porter Jr. will be out for this game as well as Jalen Green who will continue to miss time. Here is how the rest of the team operates with these two off the court this season:
- Christian Wood – 31.7% usage rate; 1.53 fpm (small sample – 61 minutes)
- Jae’Sean Tate – 22.3% usage rate; 1.38 fpm
- Armoni Brooks – 20.5% usage rate; 0.88 fpm
- Eric Gordon – 27.7% usage rate; 0.96 fpm
These would be my favorite options on the Rockets and would expect one of DJ Augustin or Armoni Brooks to start for Kevin Porter Jr. in this one. Keep an eye out for the starting lineup, as I’ll have a lot of interest in the starting point guard for this team.
5-star play: Christian Wood, DJ Augustin or Armoni Brooks (whoever starts)
4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Devonte’ Graham, Jae’Sean Tate, Eric Gordon
Deeper Value: DJ Augustin, Aromoni Brooks,
GPP Sleeper: Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Josh Hart, Eric Gordon, Garrison Mathews

NBA Lock of the Day: D.J. Augustin or Armoni Brooks
As I mentioned above, I’m going to have a lot of interest in whoever gets the start for Kevin Porter Jr. here. I’m hoping it’s Armoni Brooks just because I think he’s the better DFS producer, but Augustin being min price brings him into play. Both would be great options we just need that starting lineup, so be sure to keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates as we get closer to tip-off. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
